    Since you have family in Cali, what if you pay a family member or friend to make and ship your orders here so that US peeps can order them and not have to worry too much about the shipping. You can ship all the materials in bulk to the US--and who ever is processing orders here can do the rest!

    good tip for loading your back pack is to put the heavy stuff on top and light stuff in the bottom, takes the pressure of your back👍👍

    @soupyb1058 5 лет назад

    Yesss! Patches! I love them! And now we’re camera twins! I heard about the dust issues and ordered this lens filter adapter from amazon. It attaches to the front of the lens barrel, and you can put a 52mm UV filter on it. The extra perk is you can change the filter to CPL or neutral density to get other types of shots since now you’re bringing an actual camera! 😁

    If you want to by gear made (mostly) in NZ by NZers, check out Ground Effect in Christchurch. Admittedly, they are cyclists not hikers but the base layers and rain gear is effective for many different outdoor activities. In fact, the long tail in the back often found in cycling clothing might actually be advantageous over the shorter back seen in general outdoor wear designs.

    I'm getting excited for you! I have now been in Bangkok for 4 days! Everything worked out exactly as planned and I am now completely location independent. Really digging how cheap it is here. What a change from Los Angeles. Still trying to learn this whole digital nomad thing, but I am getting better everyday. Since I can't really have a normal daily routine, I just need to figure out how to work things out so I have time for my investing and making my vlogs. I guess it will just take a while to adapt to the constantly changing environment around me. I made it work in the car, so will just take time! Can't wait for your trip! Going to be so cool! Cool merch too! Cheers!

      Yay so happy to hear you made it safely! Enjoy Bangkok! I love that crazy big city! I think if you go to Chiang Mai you might be able to set up more of a routine and be surrounded by other digital nomads, if you want that sort of thing. But I'm sure they're in BKK too :) Eat all the food!!

      @thatsrich944 5 лет назад

      @@mari.johnson Yeah I am planning on heading up to Chiang Mai in about a week, to check it out. Bangkok is nice, but I don't plan to stay very long here. After Chiang Mai I want to head back south, Pattaya, Phuket, the islands, etc. I'm more of a beach/jungle/water guy than a city guy, haha!

    Mueller hut! Stairs to heaven! Although feels like stairs to hell when you are doing them!!! If there is a lot of snow listening to all the avalanches (nowhere near you...) is really cool!! Especially going through the valley bit. Def interested in hats, cap for hiking and beanie for mt hutt, I am local to christchurch so I would even say I can pick them up to save cost and carbon factor!! Save the world and all that jazz :-)

    I use Injinji socks and Darn Toughs, but not together. Which I use depends on what weight and sock length I want for a given trip (I've got the long Injinjis like you, short Injinji running socks, and the Darn toughs are in between), but I have never felt the need to wear another sock over the Injinjis.

    Hey Mari! I got my new logo...still tweaking, though. Love your logo! 🤟🏻Cool merch! 👍🏻What about signing up as an Amazon seller? You can send your merchandise to them and they process the orders and shipping. If you want to continue fulfilling as customers order, how about scouting out local manufacturers in the USA? Some manufacturers have multiple locations, so it might be less costly to go with them. 🌺

    • @mari.johnson
      @mari.johnson  5 лет назад +1

      Hmm that could be a good option! Though when I’m on the trail I think I’ll switch to a company that makes and fulfills the orders. Your logo is looking good!

  • @csavargoi

    If you send it to Europe and that cost 30 something dollars than cheaper to send it from the US. They have flat-rate boxes and envelopes so you can put the hats in and cost the same doesn't matter how much you put in until it is fit inside and you can close it. Even you can calculate the price online to see how much would cost so you can decide which one would be better to send it? Also if you decide to come to Florida I could bring you into the store I teach SCUBA diving and you could try it out for free. Bring Nick with you. :)

    • @mari.johnson
      @mari.johnson  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the insight! I thought the flat rates were just for within the US?

    • @csavargoi
      @csavargoi 5 лет назад

      @@mari.johnson I have to check on that, but the main thing you can check how much would cost to send something from the US to different Countries trough their website and that would help you to decide what would be better for you... Plus if you would come back to the US we could talk about how to get to New Zealand or Australia? I am thinking to move there but didn't decided where r would worth to give up everything here? Plus I think that is different to move there from the US or Europe? I'm not sure but would like to know more about this. Is it different because of the language barrier? Do they still have the point system? How can I proof my English proficiency? What they accept? And I have a bunch of more questions about that.

    Canon can repair that camera and it shouldn't cost you very much. If you bought any accessories for it, they should work equally well with the new Canon. If you're happy with the camera you're using, don't switch brands.

    • @mari.johnson
      @mari.johnson  5 лет назад

      I asked canon before about the lint behind the lens and they said they can’t repair it. They had me buy a new one. All good!

    • @LJHowardPhoto
      @LJHowardPhoto 5 лет назад

      @@mari.johnson It seems like a shame to have to retire a camera for a minor problem like that. Do you have an independent camera repair shop nearby? Sometimes they can do repairs the manufacturers won't do.

    Hi Mari...gr8 vlog m8....just an fyi.....if you wear 2 pair of socks whilst hiking you will be more prone to blisters..no matter what, you will get blisters at some stage....but.. this all comes down to how tight you lace & or how tight your footwear is..i.e...you dont want any looseness in your footwear as that creates friction..with 2 pair of socks you create more friction....thats not good my friend.Love the beanies & caps.
