No. The spry glue was applied to a material with no glue on it. It was just the patch material. This glue is more like contact cement. The glue that come from the factory is more like silicone. It has a rubber/sticky feel to it.
I have a couple of patches that I took the Velcro off of. Now it’s only the rubber patch left. What adhesive do you recommend for “rubber” patch onto a fabric back pack?
What glue did you use? Joking haha…found the info in the first comment which literally took me 10 seconds. Anyways, have you ever tried the 3m directly to the hats without drying and using the heat press?
LOL! Good question! I have not. If you were doing a one-off, I could see that but since we do 24 plus at a time I need the patches manageable. You would need to be very careful you don't touch the wet glue as well. If you add the glue after the material is cut, you will get some over spray along the edge to deal with. Just an FYI If you do it wet, let us know how it works!
Hello! I went to order this adhesive and noticed there is also a low VOC version. I wonder since this is going on wearable items like hats should I choose the lowVOC or did you just use the regular version? I am just concerned about offgassing, like I got with E6000. I couldn’t present it to the client for a week because of the smell.
I use the regular version. I spray it outside and let it dry, then bring it inside, etch and cut it on the laser, then apply it in the heat press. Some hats have a coating on them to protect it. I always have one hat that I sacrifice in order to test that batch. If it is coated, I just use rubbing alcohol on a rag and clean it off.
Well, not to be rude but if you read the comments you would see I shared what I used. I know its asking a lot to read a few posts but the info if available.
Did you spray the 3m adhesive over the other glue that comes on the patch? If so did you heat press it after spraying the glue ?

3M Hi Strength 90 Adhesive
Just spray the 3M high contact on the patch and apply to hat and it should stick safely? No cancer chemicals on back label?
The material is sprayed outside and left to dry. Then applied with a heat press.

So…. What is the glue,
Sorry, missed the question. We use 2 different glues. One is on the patch from the manufacture (JDS), the other is 3M Hi-Strength 90 contact adhesive.
