I'll add to what a lot of people think here. It's awesome to see someone I look up to, be so open and appreciative of other people's playing, I can see he'd rather focus on positives than negatives when seeing others playing and seems to feel inspired by that, that is so amazing and admirable! To have that solid self confidence not in the expense of seeing others lower, but genuinely radiating from withing and being supportive towards others! Awesome!!
I only liked some songs of mm and after he joined. And I always find him pretty interesting to read and hear. He's always so open minded and humble.

In all fairness, this video is using their material, possibly without asking, and, despite it being fair use, it's still worth a courtesy link in my opinion. That's in addition to what Lucifer said in that many people aren't as internet savvy so making it easier for them is often the right thing to do.

John1 was just a prototype mock up. John2 was a proof of concept model, programmed for basic chords.
John3 was an upgraded model that could create and play basic riffs.
John4 had improved finger flexibility that allowed for improved chicken picking capabilities, along with upgraded A.I., resulting in the current John5 model we've come to know and love.
If you want the real answer. It was a lame concept for band member names. Just going by numbers.. he was the 5th member. .nobody else kept the name but he liked it. At least that's the story I've read

When I started guitar at 11 (now 27), John 5 was an idol for me. While I don't idolize people anymore, this would've been so cool to have John review me playing his solo stuff.
In 2010, I won a contest judged by him, and got a Squier Tele for it. I still have that Tele. Got to meet, shake his hand, and thank him for it in 2015. Would love to reconnect.
He's also the reason i started playing 12 years ago.
I think some musicians are not aware of what a great inspiration they really are. And what talents come from this inspiration!

Met the guy a few years back before I went to see him live later that night. Probably one of the nicest people I've ever came across. Didn't rush the conversation, was down to talk about music for a while and played a song I asked about when we met (which he specifically dedicated to myself, not to brag). Hope to meet him again down the road.
