i'm not a native speaker of either, but I noticed at least an error or two in his french and italian. what's really interesting to me (although it makes perfect sense) is that they were the same types of errors my students, who are native English speakers, tend to make when I'm tutoring them in Spanish
I love the Netherlands and have many friends there. I speak reasonably good Dutch and always try to learn more but Dutch people always want to speak to me in English.
people are just selfish if they are not open to learn the local language, but at the same time i feel people are becoming right like this all around the world
I found it interesting the Irish guy now has an American accent- I assume from speaking to Dutch people and other foreigners who speak with an American accent and Irish accent is not far off American. Does worry me he's been there 15yrs and doesn't speak Dutch- I have just got a job in NL and my co-workers (Dutch) are joking saying it's too hard, don't bother learning, didn't even occur to them I want to learn, they just immediately reassured me everyone speaks English- when I said I really want to learn Dutch they just tut-tutted. I have learnt French as a second language and I believe in myself with Dutch but I do worry if everyone just speaks to me in English- I will just keep asking to speak Dutch and sign up for hobbies/classes that are taught in Dutch (not language lessons- like fitness, art etc.) since I won't get much practice at work.
I would recommend you to learn Dutch, if you're living here: knowing the mother tongue of someone gets you much closer to that someone than just communicating in some external language which doesn't have any affective value for that person. :) Plus, a lot of things are only in Dutch and a lot of social events too, so it's a great advantage! - Mario
Are you going to live in a city or a town? Maybe it would be interesting to live in a small town in order to get to socialize with the locals. The only disadvantage would be possibly the distance (commute time) to work, but maybe not. Take this into consideration. Good luck!
I thought I'd see more Indonesians as foreigners in this vid considering the long colonial ties. I think there were none shown in the vid but there was a Korean, Bulgarian and others...I think the Dutch colonized Indonesia in the 1620s so it's a long time for cross-cultural exchanges and for some Indonesian expats to visit or try life in the Netherlands.
Living in The Netherland is great its the same time it gives you anxiety ,stress bc everything get high in prices, rent , groceries. If you luckiy to live in great city then your lucky to speak just English, but if you gonna live in other part in Netherlands then you have to adjust yourself especially in Dutch . BC THEY NOT GOING TO TRANSLATE IN ENGLISH ALL THE TIME FOR YOU.
if you live in a other country you are forced to learn the language and we dutch just switch to english even if the person is trying but thats only in the big citys even if you dont speak english or dutch when you come here you will learn english
Would be amazing to see a video about who speak "afrikaans react to dutch and visa versa" im of course a cocky dutchman, but i think we would get more right as afrikaans is more simplistic with less meaningless rules you just have to know and afrikaans is more describing the actual thing without much hassle around it.

The number of languages Tim speaks makes him a great choice for the Dutch foreign minister in the next Rutte cabinet.
Utrecht is such a lovely city.
Gefeliciteerd! Tolles Video! What a treat! Chapeau! Meraviglioso.
i didn't know that we have a polyglot here :) Great work man!
He can almost speak every language! ¡Me he quedado en shock!
Very impressive Tim! How many languages do you speak?
It's really impressive, right!? I hope he'll make a video talking about how many languages he speaks and how he learned them :D
Really impressed, too! Would love to know
@@Alan-oq4oo the answer is in one of comments chains. He knows 11 languages.
i'm not a native speaker of either, but I noticed at least an error or two in his french and italian. what's really interesting to me (although it makes perfect sense) is that they were the same types of errors my students, who are native English speakers, tend to make when I'm tutoring them in Spanish
I can guess how much effort was made in order to present this video 👍👍❤
Damn! So impressed for being able to speak so many languages! 👍👏👍👏
Wow!!! Tim is a multi linguist! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 wait no, you're a hyperpolyglot 😲 you're amazing 🤩
Linguistics has nothing to do with speaking many languages...
Geweldig programma.
Wauw! Petje af. Echt fantastisch, geen woorden voor.
Thanks for video keep going 🤠 greeting from Morocco
I love the Netherlands and have many friends there. I speak reasonably good Dutch and always try to learn more but Dutch people always want to speak to me in English.
love this video!
it gave me a confidence boost!
gotta learn Dutch :)
people are just selfish if they are not open to learn the local language, but at the same time i feel people are becoming right like this all around the world
Netherlands is truly international with people from so many countries are living here
I found it interesting the Irish guy now has an American accent- I assume from speaking to Dutch people and other foreigners who speak with an American accent and Irish accent is not far off American.
Yeah - I can't imagine living in a country for 15 years without learning the language.

Are you going to live in a city or a town? Maybe it would be interesting to live in a small town in order to get to socialize with the locals. The only disadvantage would be possibly the distance (commute time) to work, but maybe not. Take this into consideration. Good luck!
I really don't think he was Irish and to be living in a country for fifteen years with no grasp of the local language is ridiculous
He wasn’t Irish. He was from North America, no doubt with an Irish passport that has allowed him to live in Holland for 15 years.
Nice video. Would love to visit Netherlands🇳🇱
Wowww, how many languages do you speak? Fantastic. Well done.!
Tim you are an absolute madman, respect
WTF!! I want to speak as many languages as this guy! 😭
~ the motivation~
OMG!!! Um dia serei poliglota assim também 😅
Tim is even briljant als sympathiek
Living in The Netherland is great its the same time it gives you anxiety ,stress bc everything get high in prices, rent , groceries.
If you luckiy to live in great city then your lucky to speak just English, but if you gonna live in other part in Netherlands then you have to adjust yourself especially in Dutch . BC THEY NOT GOING TO TRANSLATE IN ENGLISH ALL THE TIME FOR YOU.
if you live in a other country you are forced to learn the language and we dutch just switch to english even if the person is trying but thats only in the big citys even if you dont speak english or dutch when you come here you will learn english
hoe heb je zo veel talen goed geleerd? bravo
Incredible video, very impressive and stimulating
That one guy sounded more AMERICAN than Irish.
I am Peruvian and I am speaking three languages: Spanish, Italian and English
- Mario
can we acknowledge your language skills? you should do a video with Wouter Corduwener
Very interesting and educational - as much because of what was not said.
Would be amazing to see a video about who speak "afrikaans react to dutch and visa versa" im of course a cocky dutchman, but i think we would get more right as afrikaans is more simplistic with less meaningless rules you just have to know and afrikaans is more describing the actual thing without much hassle around it.
Dat is inderdaad een heel goed idee.
where can I follow Tim? how many languages does he speak?
Tim how many languages do you speak!!?? Amazing!! Thank you for the video guys
Italian man is smart and looks like a very nice person.
how many languanges does he speak,?incredible ! wow..
As a dutchie : everyone wanting to come over and live here in the netherlands , be aware it actually sucks here and there is a lot of things that are not going well here.
Amazing!
