I'm a truck driver in the United States and just visited the UK a few months ago. I was very intrigued by the Lori drivers there. I stumbled on your page and had to subscribe. It's a different world between your job and mine. Tractor Trailers vs Lori's! Driving on the right side of the road as well as steering would make driving a lot different lol. I had to look up a lot of the terms you use. I've been driving for around 15 years and drive for Estes Express. It would be fun to try driving a lori someday. Great channel will be watching more of your videos.
Haha yeah there are alot of differences i guess i remember the first time i heard semi.. that means something totally different here 😅 What state are you from?
I did mention it in one of the videos after mate, unfortunately with the rates going up we wouldn't of been able to afford what we wanted originally so we are holding out for now until its more viable for us.
This may be the most stupid question you’ve heard today, but when you said about AirPods, why not use the stereo in the truck, I assume they have Bluetooth if not Apple CarPlay? Great videos, keep em coming
A diet is a big part of my life or my weight just sky rockets. I got a inverter in my truck so have a air fryer, i live on chicken and veg while away have porridge in the morning. Always count my calories on my fitness pal. If you count your calories and work out what you need for a deficit you will lose weight. I try and get out for a walk on a evening when parked up or if im at one of our yards take the van and go to the gym. Fri,sat, sun im at the gym at home. As for services i always aim for subway. Subway salad box or a chicken wrap probs healthiest thing you can buy. On a saturday i just est like a maniac and have a big blow out. Sorry for waffling on but a very big topic for me. Its mind over matter.
Another thing aswell I think one of the gym chains like puregym for example should look at opening gyms through out the services around the country. I think they'd make a killing alot more people are into keeping fit these days and alot of younger lorry drivers are coming into the industry. Rothwell welcome break has a little gym, why can't they implement these in all of them across the country?
I’m 16 and finished school a few months ago and im interested in getting a hgv license tho I don’t know if I will like it do u know anyway I would be able to try it out
I have spent the last 35 years mostly doing removals. I am at the moment about 10 stone of sinew and veins. At the tender age of 57 this month. I passed my class 1 last friday and had a week off and my first gig is tomorrow through an agency. Ere we go! I wonder if I will turn into a fattie - enough big macs maybe!
The provisions for food/drink for truckers is shocking! I do nights and it’s more IF I actually eat rather than why I eat, even the services food outlets close at 10pm. I remember going along with my old man as a kid and going to proper truck stops and eating proper home Cooked food! Shame that they seem Non existent these days
Not just the lack of choice though, where I run into first run with an empty for a trailer swap the canteen is closed when I get there, I then run out of there with a full trailer and when I get to the next depot I have between half hour and 45 mins to drop trailer and find parking before the canteen closes, if I make it it’s a case of what’s left rather than a choice of what’s available 🤦♂️. Packed lunch will be the way forward I think

I'm in for the journey - rock on fella
Good tips here!
Cheers mate!
Power naps during breaks and waiting helps the drowsiness.
Still haven't said what went wrong with Canada!?

Yeah it's a joke, the lack of choice we have in this day and age.
