Hi everyone thank you so much for watching! Popping on to share that my dress is about 2 or so years old from either Asos or topshop :) it’s linen and I’m sure you can find something similar on Etsy 🤗 Also, I wash my hair every 2 or 3 days sometimes more if it’s very hot outside or I’ve done a hard workout 💪 Personally, my hair texture and scalp don’t do well if I wait too many days to shampoo ❤️

I would recommend to comb your hair before you put it in a towel to dry, instead of combing it afterwards. By combing you "break up" your natural curl pattern, so by doing it first thing after showering you preserve your natural curls much more while drying it in the towel! And also, because you dry your hair "up" with the towel, the volume and curls on the top will remain much better when you don't have to comb it anymore. I've noticed a very big difference this way :)

Hair oils on wet hair! Now, I never thought of that. I also have long, wavy hair, but mine is fine. I use some oil which works nicely when my hair's dry to keep frizz down and make it look more tame. Maybe I will try it on wet hair. I have a homemade leave-in consisting of a blob of a favorite conditioner diluted in water in a small dollar-store spray bottle. I use that when it feels dry. But thank you, Audrey. The curly girl method is too labor intensive and uses too much product to appeal to me.

If you use oils on wet hair, it helps keep your hair hydrated by locking in moisture. Otherwise oils don't hydrate, they just nourish.

I chopped of all my long, thick, prone-to-frizziness hair 15 years ago and it was sooo liberating. I realised how many hours each week I'd wasted blowdrying my hair all those years. I dry my hair in 5 mins with hairdryer n my fingers. Only downside is that shorter hair requires regular trims but at one visit to the salon every six weeks I'm still way ahead time wise ! Best wishes from Australia:)

Thank you, Audrey. This video is proving that I am on the right track about my hair. At one point my hair started to get frizzy and I couldn't figure it out. I got two Keritan treatments at the salon which were nice. But then I discovered WOW which really helped calm the frizz. Then I banished all drug store shampoos and conditioners from my use and started purchasing salon grade products. Then I bought a ceramic dryer that seemed less harsh on my hair. My hair started to improve. I used a Moroccan Oil cleansers shampoo once a week followed by a Moroccan Oil hair mask. Again more improvements. I added in Garnese hair oil serum, again good results. I bought Revlon's round hot styling brush. Now I only lightly dry my hair and with the lightest touch style with the Revlon style hot brush. I rarely use the WOW product anymore, but I do use a Kevin Murphy heat protector a few times a week on the ends. It has been a journey, like you said. I have always had thin straight hair but now that I have a few greys coming in they tend to be curly and I have had to color them. I have tried Coleen Rothchild's mask and I really like it. I may try the shampoo and hair serum next when my other products run out.

I've never used an oil in my wavy hair but im up for anything really! I just need to keep learning so i'm excited to try out your ideas! Thank you!

you and your hair are beautiful. you're the first youtuber i stumble across with naturally wavy hair that does't try to emulate the curly girl routine, which i find refreshing (and honestly i like your result better). i've learned the hard way that fine wavy hair will end up looking wet and stringy 90% of the time when following a routine by a girl with beautiful 3a curls. small ringlets might look great directly after styling but for fine wavy hair, they're so much trouble to upkeep

I also mix match them. All of their products are amazing including their masks and leave ins. My hair stylist uses their products and it fixed my majorly 10 year old color treated damaged hair. It’s my holy grail! Hope you check it out! Or anyone reading this.. ladies.. look up Evo hair. Amazon says they are an approved vendor by Evo but amazon always freaks me out when it comes to products that can be expired. So I always buy through their website instead. It’s not worth risking getting something sketchy just for the two day prime shipping. I rather be patient and wait the 5-7 days. Hope this helps someone! Much love from Asheville, NC ♥️

I've tried many times to use sulfate free shampoo with my hair but it just never works out. I have fine hair which makes it get oily and matted faster, and to make it worse I have a naturally oily scalp. If I use sulfate free shampoos then I have to use it almost every day, but if I use a stronger shampoo then I only have to wash it once a week or so. You definitely need to know your hair type and do some experimenting to figure out what works for you.

    • @katgirlblue
      @katgirlblue 4 года назад +6

Selena S. I had the same experience. Before I found the products that work for me I tried all those sulfate free products, and hated them all. Every one of them made my hair much worse, so I don't buy into that any more. The other thing I learned from a hair website as well as personal experience, is that if you have low porosity hair, don't ever use keratin, because it leaves it dry, brittle and frizzy. What's good for one might be awful for someone else.

Consider switching to a second dry towel midway through your overall routine. It’s little extra investment, feels really good, and will probably hasten your drying. I also distribute mine in specific ways before I start twisting it / split it in two directions, wrap the towel edges around the two pieces, THEN twist and raise on top of my head. Plus I sometime switch between starting upright and starting vent over.

It blocks moisture from getting in which is good for frizz, but also bad for dry hair like mine, and doesn't wash out without the sulfate shampoos.

I use 100% argan oil and an old t-shirt. My hair is like yours but natural white now. I don't use a diffuser but it takes hours to dry. Sometimes to tame the curls I pop in a few hot rollers. I don't like too many products but do find a light styling cream (Wen) reduces the frizz. Both the argan oil and Wen cream are available via QVC.

I have the same hair type and I find that keeping the diffuser in one place and not shaking it around helps a lot with frizz. That and a good curling/ scrunching gel to keep the curl/wave lasting longer :)

Highly recommend Davines products. They are a B Corp company, so I know they are not against the environment and they work with their local communities. But mostly their products are outstanding. They have hair and scalp masks, shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products. I found them through my hairdresser, but products can be purchased online or on Amazon. They’ve also been doing tutorials on Instagram during the pandemic. Check them out. ❤️

"…less is more; at least for me."
For my hair, too. I actually get more spiral waves with less (or no) product than otherwise. KISS method makes for happy hair in this house! LoL!
Thanks for this video. You went right to the point, gave just the right amount of information and managed not to be either terse or verbose. ❤️

I bet you could coax your curls out more and skip the curling iron if you combed during your conditioning and then squished to condish. Then you could do your towel and then use a curl friendly gel that helps with frizz and curl structure. I love ecoslay products and blueberry bliss.

Ladies if you want to deep clean your hair and scalp naturally, in the shower, you can gently massage some good old baking soda on wet hair, then spray some apple or rice vinegar leaving it for about 5 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly, then you can add any mask or treatment you want. It really works

Great routine - but sun protection is also important! Like wearing a sunhat to protect your scalp or using an UV barrier leave-in product to prevent bleached and dried out ends :)

I also have low porosity hair and struggled with frizz for a long time. My hair is more 2a now with medium thickness. Things either left my hair frizzy or weighed down. My combo is briogio rosarco milk spray for conditoning and ouai wave spray for styling. I spray both after I get out of the shower and before styling.

Hi Audrey, have you tried a mix of leave in conditioner plus a tiny bit of hairgel instead of oil? Works perfect for my curls, but my hair is quite light and dries fairly quick. I also try to form curls while drying them with the towel using your hands. Your hair is really pretty ;-)

A brand that has totally changed my hair is this French brand Christophe Robin. They have this amazing deep-cleanse sea salt shampoo and a luxurious regenerating hair mask. Also very good products to lighten blonde hair that really work... They do other colors as well but I've only tried the brightening ones
