The country's largest mosque is the world's first place of worship certified for sustainable design.
Istiqlal Mosque has been recognised for its efforts to reduce water and electricity consumption.
That has led to smaller mosques attempting to do the same.

How hard is it for a place of worship to be eco-friendly? Just go in and pray and go home. Don't need anything fancy for that.
@@mudshovel289 keep in mind that services such as “Sunday school,” religious wedding ceremonies, religious studies for children, events for guest speakers, events and additional lectures during Ramadan, both Eid holidays, etc. utilize the mosque facilities. It’s more than simply a place of worship. It is a community space.

I have once or twice visited this wonderful mosque! No kidding it was huge and beautiful
i saw a lot of comments hating on islam or indonesia lol. what an effort to commenting in this video. usually when you hate people or something so much, you rather avoiding it. like a kid who won't touch the vegetables. i think they somewhat love or envy us. and they can't accept that so "let's attack them with hurtful words onlinely, so they would go mad" haha what an immature

Beautiful mosque and sits across wonderful cathedral. Both community help each other in so many occassions. Great spot for tourists since it is located near to public transportations and many street food around.

What a NOVEL way to show that any or ALL religous sites, sects, etc. can make a positive change around them! Good for them to be the first one's to step forward & take the initiative to show how easy it can be done & what the potential benefits are! Great job Indonesia! That project alone will surely entice more tourists just to see first-hand not only the operation, but also the entirety of the efforts & results. They can then return home & try to apply what they have learned to their own projects. Way to go folks!
