When I was in Indonesia some years ago, I noticed multiple Japanese companies' manufacturing facilities. Japan has invested a lot in Indonesian industry, creating a lot of jobs, it seems. So, it seems like there is a thriving economic relationship between the two countries -- aside from cultural or political affinities.

Indonesian media rarely broadcast news from South Asia. Even most Indonesians don’t know about controversial news regarding an ancient mosque destroyed by some radicals. Even though there is this heated relationship between Hinduism and Islam in India, there is no hatred toward Hindus in Indonesia. As I said, we rarely hear news about what is happening in South Asia.
I blame TikTok for this negative stereotypes against Indians. I myself is Indonesian and I'm well aware of this. Quite funny to hear some Indonesian opinions. Some of them hate India, where you can find India strong influence of local wisdom and culture in Indonesia. Some of them hate Israel, which we don't find any historical connection between Indonesia and Israel just based on Palestinian conflict. This is not true. You can open google maps right now and visit any random street in any town in India. If you open street view, you either see a pile of rubbish right next to the street, or not far down from where you are. There is rubbish thrown everywhere. Indian diplomatic missions and cultural missions like ICCR seem more active in western countries and not that much in it's own backyard. Infact by 2030 India will have the biggest Muslim population in the world surpassing even Indonesia. Besides India host second largest number of mosques in the whole world, not to mention numerous sufi shrines and historic mosques here. Quite funny to hear some Indonesian opinions. Some of them hate India, where you can find India strong influence of local wisdom and culture in Indonesia. Some of them hate Israel, which we don't find any historical connection between Indonesia and Israel just based on Palestinian conflict. Some of them hate North Korea, where you can find a strong historical closeness between Indonesia and North Korea. Some of them hate US for racism issue, which actually the US people has no racial hatred towards Indonesians.
But I don't find hatred towards Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Japan, and South Korea lol. We all know Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, and Japan invaded Indonesian islands, and South Korean people has more racism towards Indonesia.
And amazingly, you find most of them has no hatred towards any country. I appreciate for their sincere.

This is not true. You can open google maps right now and visit any random street in any town in India. If you open street view, you either see a pile of rubbish right next to the street, or not far down from where you are. There is rubbish thrown everywhere. Israel is an obvious choice in any islamic country, however seeing India as second most hated(although with a very limited sample size) leaves question on Indian soft power. Indian diplomatic missions and cultural missions like ICCR seem more active in western countries and not that much in it's own backyard.
It can be debatable but in subconscious reason of India being second will definitely be propoganda of Wahabi prechears against India,who are gaining prominence in Indonesia too.
Probably most Indonesians don't know that India is the only non islamic country having such big Muslim population which has rose from 7.5 % at the time of indipendence to almost 15 % now. Infact by 2030 India will have the biggest Muslim population in the world surpassing even Indonesia. Besides India host second largest number of mosques in the whole world, not to mention numerous sufi shrines and historic mosques here. It's our failure that we are not able to publicise these records to Islamic world.
