Stayed in the hotel a few times before, transiting in Beijing on. Air china. Your video reminded me of the good service that I received. The bellboy went out and beyond to check the shuttle bus for me in the wintery cold dawn, and insisted that he will make sure the bus is ready then I will need to come out. He was a very young boy and was very considerate for a pax. Truly appreciated.
Thanks for watching and for your comment. I agree with you about the service at the hotel although I didn't get to stay there long enough due to our flight timings and the time taken to exit the airport.
Thanks! A helpful summary and a service that we will use hopefully this autumn. I like the Chinese airlines (especially China Southern although Air China is fine) and this seems a great way to travel to Tokyo, across Russia and with the break on route. I'm all about flying value business class on long haul and I think the Chinese airlines offer great value if you can time your bookings right, and their cabin crews are very good in my experience. Happy travels!
Thanks for your comment. We certainly found the service on Air China to be better than expected as was the in-flight meal service. Being able to break up the journey and arrive in Tokyo at a more suitable time ( to take a domestic flight) certainly was a bonus. Thanks for watching and have a great trip in the autumn.
I have booked a flight to Phuket that has a 21 hours stopover in Chengdu. Thank you for letting me know there is a kiosk for permits to leave the airports, as I was really worried before and I might have been kept in the airport! :))
Think it is worth doing as the room looked a great place to rest, recharge and freshen up. The wait times in the airport are a big of a bother though but I suppose it's all part of the "experience" of travelling. Very informative and useful video.
Sad that the process took so long. When I took Xiamen airlines, it was about 1.5 hours between landing and getting in my free transit hotel room. ( at Xiamen) With luggage btw.
Very nice video! I am planning to fly to Hanoi in December with a layover of 20 hours in Bejing. Did you get the Hotel for the entire duration of your transit and were you able to go to the city as well?
The hotel was available for the duration of our layover but we didnt get to do anything other than sleep due to a long time at immigration and an early departure the next day. Have a good trip and thanks for watching.
Hi, I am flying with Air China next week (Melbourne - Istanbul) Do you know if they will check my bags to the final destination for a 20 hour layover? I am just a little concerned that my bag will be sitting in Istanbul and get lost some how? Thanks
We had a similar length of layover in Beijing. Our bags were checked through to our final destination so we didn't see them in Beijing whilst we were in the complimentary hotel. PEK seemed well staffed and run so I am sure your bags will arrive in Istanbul when you do. Have a good trip.
Hi question, do we still need to pick up our checked in luggage when we arrive in beijing or they will only release it on the final destination? Thanks.
But what about on your way back to the airport. Are the bus readily available on time or do we need to call someone? We were thinking to go back at 5am then ride the train to the city to tour.
The first bus, from the airport to the hotel was arranged by email before our trip, but we did have to telephone the hotel because we were later than the time we had arranged (due to the time spent at immigration). As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we arranged with reception for a transfer back to the airport at 5am the next morning. The bus was outside at reception ready for us the next morning. All transfers were free. During our stay we only had time to sleep!
Hi, I'm struggling with transit hotel booking. Trying to book it an Air China app and first issue pops up directly. Need to enter ID number and it's not clear which ID number. Maybe you know what?
Hello. I called the helpline and it was simple to book, so I can't help with the app I'm afraid. If i had to guess I would say the id number would be your passport number.
The hotel can be booked through the AC helpline for passengers that have a booking. In the video, I show the web page you need to look at for info on how to qualify and book. Thanks for watching
Please give me more information before I can answer. Where is your Beijing flight departing from? what is your arrival time in Beijing and departure time to Mianyang? Have you booked the hotel service? I'll try to help when I get this information. Thank you.
I've been struggling at the register page where I needed to put the phone number and website sending me the SMS. The website didn't go to the hotel booking page even the given SMS number was already key. I tried both AirChina website and the app.
I recommend that you telephone your local air china office to arrange the hotel. That is how I booked the hotel and I received confirmation the next day. Thanks for watching the video.
Yes, transfers to and from the hotel are included, you have to contact the hotel before you travel to arrange pick up from the airport and they will arrange your transfer back to the airport when you check in. Thanks for watching.
@@Hen70-cv4tg i have received this mail The hotel only offers a free shuttle from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to the hotel. If the passenger's flight is at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport, the hotel does not provide Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport shuttle service to the hotel, passengers need to make their own travel arrangements.
I don't think it's convenient for people who only have about 6 hours of transit because you lose a lot of time to exit and re-enter the airport! Better to book an hourly hotel directly inside the Terminal!
If you book a flight on the Air China website that has a connection in Beijing( or othet airports) and you meet their conditions then the transit hotel is free. We paid nothing.
Yes, I thought it might be a problem with levels, I'm finding it difficult to judge. Anyway, the transit hotel is only available once per booking and depends on you having the correct length of layover within their parameters.
Just wanted to say that your comment made me check again on my video editor to see if there was an automatic volume level adjustment and it turns out there is! Hopefully this will make future videos clearer. Thanks for giving me your feedback.

bear in mind this hotel is for business class transit pax, so it is a better hotel.
Suprised with the wait times at immigration, agree with your overall thoughts. Good stuff.

Meant to say I’m from the UK
And staying in Hanoi now
Hello. From the UK I used 00800 86 100 999. So if you are in Hanoi, swap the 00 at the start for Vietnams international dial out code.
@ thank you!

@@Hen70-cv4tgthanks! Is this service only for business/first class only? Or also applicable for economy too?
The service is for passengers in any class, I think the only difference between business and economy is that the choice of hotels is different.

if we must paying a hotel transit, how much we must pay
