Since the opening of the extension of Line 11 towards Rosny-sous-Bois. The MP59s are unfortunately retired 🕊️💔 and line 14 is extended from Saint-Denis - Pleyel to Orly Airport 😉✌🏽 and with its new system. The (SAET NG) for the MP14CA 👍🏽 there will still be a lot of changes but it's a very good start 👌🏽 proud to be in French and to live there to admire the RATP & Île de France Mobilité metros! I hope you too 😉?
And excellent video by the way! can't wait to see what happens next 😉👍🏽

Gutes Video!

    Great video!
I was surprised at first : "only" 45 minutes to cover CLH entirely?
That's because you covered only the metro and Châtelet part, or only the Seine and Rivoli sectors, bypassing the forum sector where lines 4, A, B, and D each have a stop.
The Châtelet side is already a lot of work though.
One tremendous video would be one covering the entire Saint-Lazare Auber Opera Havre-Caumartin Saint-Augustin underground complex. It's a gigantic hub with 26 platforms for 12 stops on 9 lines, all interconnected underground.
It extends over a kilometer in length as the crows fly and much more if you count all the different levels, corridors, platforms and halls.
    Lines 3, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, A, and E serve the hub, with line 3 stopping at 3 different points in the complex, and line 9 at 2 points.
That's where most of the action takes place in the 80's movie Subway.
I've always loved both Châtelet les Halles and Opera Auber Saint-Lazare mega hubs, they are fascinating to watch operate. It's like an underground ballet, or a city, with different acts or neighborhoods.
It's a bit like major airports and their departure and arrival halls for me, with thousands of people moving around, meeting friends, etc. It really is appeasing and fascinating to see the human flow, like an ant farm.

Thank you! Yes, I filmed the Les Halles metro station separately, and I havent't covered the RER section at all yet. It sure would be an interesting project to cover everything in one video, but since I have left out the RER part in all my station videos so far, I thought it would only be logical to continue doing it that way... Maybe I will start a separate RER video series one day.
Regarding the Opera Auber Saint-Lazare mega hub, I proceeded in a similiar way there - separate videos for Saint-Lazare, Saint-Augustin, Havre-Caumartin, Opera (and no RER video for Auber), but I haven't uploaded any of them yet. 😋
And speaking of Saint-Lazare - I noticed that the huge clock on the floor, seen from above, is a very good spot to watch ant-like crowds walking in all directions: c7.alamy.com/comp/E5EJTK/france-paris-8e-gare-saint-lazare-mouvements-de-voyageurs-dans-la-E5EJTK.jpg

@@MetroCheck Ah yes, the clock atrium is a great location to watch people move around like busy ants.
I love the different levels at both ends of the giant atrium or hall of Auber which is huge (above the platforms but 30m deep) as it's about 250 meters long, 40 meters wide, with a giant vaulted ceiling. The 2 access and exit levels on both ends see tons of people passing there every day because that's where passengers come from or go to in order to connect between RER A and metro lines, RER E, or the mainline and suburban surface station.
The Auber platforms, and the giant atrium above, snuggly fit right between 2 stations of line 3 that RER A parallels (Opera and Havre-Caumartin)
It could be interesting to stitch up the different videos, maybe reordering the shots, and then release a complete video exploring the entire complex (including the RER parts).
This would give a good idea of the sheer size of it, with a progression from one end at Opera, to Auber, to Havre-Caumartin, to Haussmann Saint-Lazare, to Saint-Lazare, and to the other end at Saint-Augustin.
26 platforms, that would be a long video but you probably already have the footage for most of it.
Add to that the surface mainline and suburban station with lines J and L for good measure, and you'd have the most complete exploration of one of the world's largest underground complex (if not "the" largest, as if I'm not mistaken, Shinjuku has fewer platforms even when counting the other connected stations).
Maps from cartometro can be very helpful to visualize where platforms are located geographically, especially the "Metro" and the "Grand Paris" maps. The Metro one features indications of platform exit points, while the Grand Paris one has RER tracks and platforms.
Some have made videos running from one end to the other, but I don't think any did explore all platforms like you do.
Even though the RER is different from the metro, it's seamlessly integrated and was originally called Métro Express Régional before getting the name Réseau Express Régional. So it'd fit perfectly in your collection of videos, especially because the RER is the epitome of mass rapid transit.

How did you film discreetly without the ticket inspectors noticing your camera? I'm pretty sure they'd take notice to it if they saw it.

Well, in situations like this I hold the camera at waist height and cover it almost completely with my hand.😎Similar to the guy in this video: ruclips.net/video/0x1em7E-isY/видео.html (at 1:44)

Danke!

@@MetroCheck And he didn't even showed the RER stations. If I'm correct Châtelet - Les Halles is the busiest station in the RATP-network.

    • @MetroCheck
      @MetroCheck  Месяц назад +1

@TheMexxodus Gare du Nord seems to be the busiest station: data.ratp.fr/explore/dataset/trafic-annuel-entrant-par-station-du-reseau-ferre-2021/table/?sort=-rang
But I'm not sure if these numbers are correct - I can't believe that Gare du Nord with only 2 metro lines has four times as many passengers as Châtelet with its 5 metro lines...

did you enjoyed the biggest mess of the Parisian metro ? 😅

    • @KyrilPG
      @KyrilPG Месяц назад +3

It's actually quite organized and efficient.
Especially considering the huge number of passenger exchanges in this gigantic hub.
The 3 sectors are well indicated, and the last overhaul brought better lighting.
The other mega hub is the Saint-Lazare Auber Opera complex, which is actually larger than Châtelet les Halles and extends over a kilometer in length as the crows fly, much more if you add all corridors, levels and platforms : there are 26 platforms for 12 stops on 9 lines in the underground complex (not counting the platforms and lines in the surface mainline train station).
With 3 stops on one line and 2 stops on another line, all serving different parts of the same interconnected underground complex.
There are also République, Gare du Nord, Place d'Italie, Montparnasse, Nation, Charles de Gaulle Étoile, Bastille, and recently Porte Maillot, which are important interchanges, plus the very recently opened Saint-Denis Pleyel that will become a major hub station in the coming years.

Ah, Sie haben Châtelet - Les Halles in zwei Teile geteilt. Klug 👍 !

Oha, so lang.
