Some of us are lacking the Courage it takes to move forward. The process is terrifying. It seems easy, but you find yourself asking yourself simple things like " What if this company is more toxic than the one I'm leaving? Where do I apply? How do I know if Im making the right decision? How did this even happen? "

I’ve watched all of your videos! You’re an essential asset to black women navigating through racism in the workplace! I have applied the knowledge I’ve learned from your videos and those folks at work hate it 😆

Boom! I love your content. I graduated with my first MS in Human Resource Management and Development (Organizational Effectiveness concentration) degree last May. Currently, I'm enrolled in a MS in Law degree program (part-time) for HR professionals and we're focusing on the Employment Law perspective. It's my first semester and the number of cases we've covered that deals with various employment law situation is crazy. So many folks are clueless about the basic rights in the workplace, how to deal with HR, and methods of strategizing in the workplace. I was able to revisit (mentally) my younger days of working to help me understand the concepts, cases, etc. If I knew back then what I have learned thus far, whew, I would be PAID!!!!! I believe basic employment law should be mandatory in all high school to prepare young folks for the world of work.

Great content. It sounds like some of us are coming to you looking for commiseration, not consultation. You have been clear that is not your lane. (Not that you don't have empathy for the impact of hostile work environments on Black women. ❤) You are here to advise on how to make a clear case and get that cash on your way out. You are saying that the righteous fight is for our wellbeing and wallet. You are saying that enough generations of women have endured. Choose freedom and go live your life. Get those coins, then meet up with me in Tuscany for some fun. 😊 Or go somewhere else on your own and celebrate being free. These systems are going to hum along just as they are. They are not "broken." They are working just as they were designed to work.
Thank you for what you do, and for keeping it real as you do it.

One of my former black female coworkers and I have recently filed suit against our last employer, the company was based out of India and owned by the most racist Indian men. The gender discrimination was glaring. I was hired as a high-level manager and was told to be a "mute spectator" in meetings with clients and to let the men do the talking. They let both of us go after complaining about the treatment. Gave us no reason for termination and no severance. The guy that hired me here in NJ laughed during the termination meeting and said NJ is an at will state, so I dont have to give you a reason. I left my job of 3 years for the position and, 10 months later, was unemployed.

At will does not mean an employer can discriminate.

Can you sue your employer if you quit due to discrimination?
