You must be eastern time. Living in the Midwest, I always think 8:30. It's funny how we remember these things. From the inception of "The Bob Newhart Show" in '72, for three years it was "All in the Family", an ever-changing follow-up show, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", Bob's show, and "The Carol Burnett Show", which had replaced "Mission: Impossible" mid season that first year.
Yes. Saturday night line up All In the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob and Carol's show. Best block of tv in tv history. Nothing beat it or ever will. God bless the 70s.
Excellent examples as to how subtle intelligence and comradeship can be expressed affectionately, even when tearing the other apart. The result? Laughter, not disdain.
This clip kept me howling. The banter between Johnny and Bob and you hear Ed laughing himself sick at the exchange. This is a classic Carson clip!!! Update: Sad to hear Mr. Newhart passed away earlier today. 94 Years, and such a legacy. He was one of my favourite comedians of all time.
I loved watching Newhart as a kid. I didn't fully understand the final episode til years later when I finally watched the Bob Newhart show. And now as an adult, I discovered Bob. Those were the days of REAL comedy!!!
For people who do not understand the reference, he was talking about President Reagan, he was an actor who was in a movie with a chimp and then became Governor of California.
REST IN PEACE.
John William Carson (Corning, Iowa; 23 de octubre de 1925 - West Hollywood, California; 23 de enero de 2005) fue un presentador, comediante, escritor y productor de televisión estadounidense.
This interaction between Johnny and Newhart went well, but about 6 or 7 years earlier it got quite testy. Johnny seemed to take offense to something Newhart said before the show opened, something about not calling Newhart on immediately of Carson's opening monologue went poorly. It didn't go well between the two at times.
RIP Johnny and Bob! We will never forget you.
Bob Newhart’s comedy LPs are as hilarious today as they were 50 years ago. A true comedic genius !!
My mother owned several Bob Newhart. Record albums in the 1960s😅
I’ll check them out because so far I can’t see what all the fuss is about.
My Dad loved the original Bob Newhart show...every Saturday night at 9:30!
You're on my mind a lot today, Dad, love ya!!!
Rest In Peace.

I had to watch it in Boston as a boy because my mom loved it. And I think the Carol Burnett Show followed soon thereafter!

Yes, Carol was on after Bob! 😀

Johnny’s “like” will never come round again ! So many side-splitting humorous moments ! Thanks gentlemen !
So many people try to be him and fail. Bill Maher bobbing his head around with his hands behind his back might be the most embarrassing.
😢two beloved men who can never be replaced are together once again. God Bless them.
I'm so grateful to these videos. I saw these the first time and it's wonderful seeing them now. Late night has never been the same.

Love you Bob the most soft spoken man and lovely soul RIP🙏😘🕯❤
The banter between johnny and Bob and also Tm Conway and
And Charles Grodin is some of the tv out there
Late night was never the same, again.
Such a fan of Bob Newhart, his first show was the best
"He looks like a Nazi fighter pilot" - Don Rickles, Letterman 1983.
Every show ended with his sit ups.
Thanks for the laughs Bob .
Love Bob Newhart. Great comedian & guy.
Nothing better than watching two buddies giving each other sh!+. Great banter!

RIP Bob Newhart
Love it! Thank-you
Two true comedic geniuses. Get wit and much banter off the cuff.
Carson will always be King of Late Night.
Carson’s delivery at 6:43 of “well, that’s…incredible…” is just golden.
9:24
I always loved those two together. 😂 🥰
This was a classic running gag, where Johnny would wind up Bob, by stepping on punch lines, or just asking weird follow-up questions.
Two comic geniuses.
"Maybe you don't have to register chimp's names." Hilarious. Bob is really miffed about Johnny walking all over his story. Great to watch.
Great memories of how things should be.
"I won't *BE* Here,!.. ."
"YES, ..You *WILL.!* ..."
"He's Doing it Again... .."
😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😂😂😂😂😂

This is my brother Daryl and my other brother Dyral!😂
Ahh for Bob Newhart’s improv. R.I.P.
At the 4:00 minute I ssomehow made me think of the 6.2 M "banana taped to the wall" at Sothebys auction
Loved the way his 2nd show ended!! Very Classic.
Different times.

Por los menos Johnny Carson alcanzo casi 80 anos. Durante su vida el fumaba mucho y sufria de alcoholismo .
Is there a way to watch every episode from the beginning?
Many of the original shows were lost. There are some that can be viewed in their entirety. Takes some searching.
See you both on the other side
That was fun
RIP
Bob is still alive this isn't the Letterman Channel?

Ed McMahon
A professional laugher. What’s all that about?
_this is my brother Darryl_
It's odd that he didn't recognize the theme song from his own show.
Oh, look, it's Obi-Wan.
"He looks like a Nazi fighter pilot" - Don Rickles, Letterman 1983.
20 years later, same curly joke....
