Never been more proud to be Canadian. I only had Germany to root for until Davies joined Bayern, showing his talent to the world, bringing attention to Canada. Now, they qualified for the WORLD CUP, FOR TWICE IN A ROW???
I wonder how Canada will do in the world cup. Definitely one of the most interesting teams in the tournament! Thank you Maqwell for another amazing video❤️
My favourite cousin is from Canada, whenever we talked about sports we would chat about ice hockey or basketball, but not football. I haven't talked to him for a few years and this seems like a good time to reconnect. While I may be supporting England in the World Cup, I'll definitely be paying attention to how Canada does. I hope they at least make it to the knockout stages.
I had the luck of attending the home game against Jamaica in Toronto and it was just incredible seeing the amount of people rallying behind one team. When that final whistle blew everybody went berserk and it was insane. Probably one of the best events I’ve gone to and will ever go to
I was in the supporters section and had a great view of the stands; hardly an empty space and the roar when Larin scored and the love and respect given to Atiba was unlike anything I've experienced. The banging of the drums was just a topper
The south end of BMO was a party that day. I remember bursting into tears when Tajon scored because there was always that little voice saying "don't get too excited yet" with this team, but it finally went away in that moment. I still can't watch that moment without bawling my eyes out because of what that moment means to me.
As my current profile picture shows, I was there too. My first ever Canadian Men’s Team game, and my word. It was so special, and by far the best sporting event I’ve ever been to.
YESSSSSSSSSSS I HAVE BEEN GIVING MYSELF HEARTBURN WAITING FOR THIS! One thing to point out, Atiba Hutchinson is very well loved by the Canadian fans. During the Jamaica game when he came off the bench, the stadium erupted!
The guys can be proud of Canada for giving them a place to live, and an opportunity. Canada can be proud of the guys for bringing them to the world cup, after years of depression and football almost dying in Canada. It's the perfect relationship, a great cause, and they deserve the support. This is just the beginning though.
As a Canadian I am so proud of that team and how far our country has come in the most beautiful game. Thank you for putting so much time into this Maxwell!

Football has beenthe most played sport in Canada since at least 2014 tbf. Most people cannot afford to play hockey. Equipment is both expensive and has to be frequently replaced as kids grow. Quebec for the longest time was our goalie factory; legends like Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, and Roberto Luongo all grew up watching legendary Habs keepers like Roy and Price and followed in their footsteps. Today, our goaltending is horrendous, largely because families cannot afford goalie equipment anymore. Pads need to be replaced constantly, and as a result enrollment rates have been dropping and the number of great canadian goalies continues to dwindle. NT Keepers like Max Crepeau, arguably our MVP at Copa, grew up playing hockey and football and swapped to the latter because they could afford to play it.
@Pikabo0 unfortunately real. I'm Canadian and we are being bleed like a stuck pig because of how incompetent our pm is. He is a disgrace to both Canada and his father, Pierre Eliot treudeu. Not even Castro would be proud, then again he was addicted to dairy to the point where he made a super cow

I can only wish the same for when I can see 🇮🇳 in the World Cup. No more Brazilian and Argentine flags, but our own. One day, I hope. Excellent work on another banger Maxwell
Even though we didn’t made it to the knockout stages, I can see us becoming a real powerhouse in the future. Our team is fairly young, but had close to no experience against european teams. Now we have this experience, an the next WC will see us with the home advantage (and a guaranteed qualification as one of the hosts). Qatar 2022 was just a beginning for Canadian ⚽️, might it be men or women.
I've seen firsthand the development of soccer, coming from a small town we didn't have many options until the Whitecaps opened a regional academy to recruit for the first team. I remember we did a trip to Vancouver and we were taught about the "live above the line mentality" but I didn't know that came from John Herdman until this video. I wasn't good enough to progress in the academy but now look at the talents coming through to the Whitecaps, Alphonso Davies being the prime example. Such an exciting time for Canadian soccer! Thanks for the top notch video!
As a Canadian obviously I had to watch all their games in person. Personally I am very proud of them. They went against the toughest teams in the world and held their own. They just need experience in playing against tougher teams and eventually they'll do better in big tournaments like the world cup.
It's been so surreal watching Canada qualify for the first time in my lifetime, and in such dominant fashion. Incredibly excited to finally be able to watch my own country play at the World Cup!
I'm glad you highlighted the Hart years, if you look at his CV he wasn't a highly acclaimed coach with mostly just local Canadian clubs. But it was a lot of fun to watch, we didn't get any hardware but literally anything could happen against any opponent which was better then the years we just mostly lost a lot 😂.
Lol you played Xenoblade's Refugee Camp at the part where you discussed Canada's foreign born residents. So clever! Honestly I recognize all the Yakuza, Persona, etc music and references you toss into the vids (not the mention anime). As a huge soccer fan too, that makes your vids ridiculously entertaining for me!
I was ecstatic to learn that I would at least get to see my Canada in the world Cup as hosts in 2026 once in my life. After seeing Davies move to Bayern though I started to believe just a bit. You wouldn't imagine the scenes after we beat the US in January. Great video again brother. Absolutely loved that tribute to Hutchinson. His goal was all him, on a team of youngsters it was the 39 year old man who made the run from box to box past the 80th minute.
Great video, funny enough last time Canada qualified for a World Cup in 1986 in Mexico they played in my hometown of Irapuato, Guanajuato Mexico. Apparently they and most of the European teams spent most of their times eating buckets of gallons worth of Strawberries lol.

I'm from the same Home town as Heardman. He was coach of my sisters' junior team back in the day. Awesome seeing him on the international stage.
Idea: Rise and fall of the Ireland national football team.
Fantastic and well made video. Keep up the good work.
As a Canadian obviously I had to watch all their games in person. Personally I am very proud of them. They went against the toughest teams in the world and held their own. They just need experience in playing against tougher teams and eventually they'll do better in big tournaments like the world cup.
WE DIDNT WIN A GAME BUT OUR GROUP WAS HARD AND PHONZY SCORED A GOAL YEAHHHHHHHH BEST TEAM IN QATAR
Who’s here after we made it to the semis in Copa America
It's been so surreal watching Canada qualify for the first time in my lifetime, and in such dominant fashion. Incredibly excited to finally be able to watch my own country play at the World Cup!
One of the reasons I'll support canada on the wc will be because of Borjan, he's been a hero for Red Star Belgrade for years already
I know I’m a little late watching this video but this is very well put together and very accurate…Excellent job Maqwell
Great video essay as always, that Timely!! shirt really put the cherry on top. Man of culture
After following the Canadian team for so long. This has moved me to tear.
Go Canada 🇨🇦
maybe im slightly biased due to being coached by his brother, but i would have loved to see more of Sam Adekugbe
Do one on Ecuador ! From losing to Argentina 6-1 in 2019 to winning Colombia 6-1 in 2021
Lol you played Xenoblade's Refugee Camp at the part where you discussed Canada's foreign born residents.
I love this guy and im rewatching this for the 4th time now
Great video, funny enough last time Canada qualified for a World Cup in 1986 in Mexico they played in my hometown of Irapuato, Guanajuato Mexico. Apparently they and most of the European teams spent most of their times eating buckets of gallons worth of Strawberries lol.
i need to go back in time and experience this, strawberries are easily the best fruit
