Love these tribute songs by Sabaton.
Metal Machine - uses song names
Metal Ripper - uses song Lyrics
Metal Crue - uses band names
Tho while I do love Sabatons video and art… I have to say I think your prefer Piscator versions as they actually show you both the lyrics and bands/songs where they come from.

Sabaton has something we call the "Metal trilogy":
Metal Machine - on Primo Victoria (2005) - A fun tribute to Metal, using song titles from other Metal bands, to make the lyrics.
Metal Crüe - on Attero Dominatus (2006) - Tribute with Metal band names.
Metal Ripper - on Coat of Arms (2010) - Tribute with lyric lines from famous metal songs.
There is also the Manowar tribute "Man of War" with only Manowar song titles - "Heroes" (2014).
PLEASE LISTEN TO THE OTHER ONES TOO!!! :)
There is a funny story on how Joakim accidentally made the first one in 2004 ("Metal Machine"), the rest after that were planned.
He had written the music to "Metal Machine", but forgot to write lyrics to it.
When he was in the studio singing and thought he was done with all the songs, he totally panicked when they asked if he was ready to do the last one.
He went to the toilet (or was already there, that is little unclear), locked the door and started to write "something, anything" on the toilet paper. There were metal magazines there so that inspired/ helped him to do a "metal tribute song".
Apparently nobody in the studio realised that he had just made up the lyrics in the past 15-20 minutes.
The fact that no one had asked him what the song lyrics were before that, blows my mind.
It kinda shows how much of the songs was all up to Joakim, especially in the early years...
The original line up of 1999-2012 never wrote any music and Pär is the only one to ever write lyrics with Joakim. (Which, reading between the lines, means that Joakim also did at least the 1st demo version on all the guitar solos before lineup change and a lot of them since.)
When you understand that Joakim was around 23-24 at the time (born 1980) and was under a lot of pressure with the album, it's easy to understant why he didn't just say that he forgot.
+ the studio time is expensive and they self financed that album. But as it turned out, he made a great song and people wanted to know how and why it happened, so he ended up telling the story anyway.
    Little Sabaton trivia:
I realized this week (while looking for something else), that ALL the keyboards on the ALBUM VERSIONS of "Primo Victoria", "Attero Dominatus" and "Metalizer" (except for the song "In the Name of God") are played by Joakim. Even though they had Daniel Myhr as the official keyboard player for 2005-2012.
He's also credited on at least some of the album keyboards, on every album. After 2012 he's back as the main keyboard player.
It's funny how we all seem to be so surprised that he can actually play, since that is something he's been doing for over 30 years now. He actually started a full decade before joining Sabaton and starting to sing at all... :)

so this song is made up of lyrics from other bands' songs. Then you have Metal Machine, which is made up of other bands' song titles... and last but not least Metal Crüe, (my fav) which is a song made up of other bands' names. so go for the trifactor and do those too :)

ALWAYS LIKE THESE THREE SONGS BECAUSE SABATON WAS THINKING WHEN THEY WERE MAKING THEM. ALSO ROCK AND ROLL WILL NEVER DIE 🤘😈👹

If you really listened to Sabaton, you'd notice that their albums are usually thematic meaning there is a lot of research behind the lyrics of the songs. So you can't really say that they were thinking only with the metal tribute songs.

See, a mashup of Sabaton and older, classic metals songs... what could go wrong with that? 😄👍
I'll admit, I don't recognize some of the songs they reference here, but even if you don't know them all, I love that it's still an amazing song on its own, without you needing to recognize every single line and whatnot. And your reactions Dave are always so interesting and entertaining to watch and hear. Thanks again for sharing them with us, this one and all the others too.
