    RULES:
    The object of this 2-4 player card game is to be the first player to win 3 rounds by playing all the cards in your grid. Pick a dealer who shuffles the deck and deals 10 cards to each player, 1 at a time, face down. Players do not look at these cards but instead arrange them in a 2 by 5 grid in front of them. Place the deck face down in between the players and flip over the top card to form a discard pile. The player left of the dealer goes first then play proceeds clockwise.
    On your turn, draw 1 card from either the top of the draw deck or discard pile and play it face up in the correct position on your grid. The top left of your grid is 1, then the numbers increase in sequential order to the right, then again on the 2nd row with number 10 in the bottom right. Replace the face down card in that position with the correct card you drew. Now, look at the face down card you revealed. You are allowed to play it to its correct spot in your grid if that spot is still face down. Continue playing cards to their correct spots until you match a card to a face up number already in play or you get a stop card, then you discard that card and end your turn and the next player goes.
    If the draw deck runs out of cards before the round ends, then shuffle the bottom cards of the discard pile into a new draw deck. If you draw or uncover a wild card you may play it on any face down card in your grid and continue your turn. If you draw or reveal a number card that matches the spot of a face up wild, then you may replace that wild with your number and play the wild anywhere else on your grid.
    If you draw or uncover as stop card, your turn ends and you discard the stop card. If you draw or uncover a trashed card, you play it on any opponent’s face up number, replacing that number with the trashed card and playing that number card in your grid in the appropriate spot. If your opponents do not have face up numbers to empty spaces on your grid, then you may not play the trashed card and must discard it and end your turn. The next player may draw that trashed card from the discard pile and play it on any player, including the player who discarded it. Face up trashed cards in your grid need to be replaced by either a wild or a correct number card.
    The round ends when the first player completes their grid with all faceup cards. The dealer gathers all the cards and a new round is dealt, except this time, the winner of the previous round receives 1 fewer card. The next round is played like before with the winner of the previous round playing with 1 fewer card needed to win. Repeat this process until 1 player wins their 3rd round of 8 cards, then they are the winner.

    This seems like a modern take on Takoyaki! A really fun card game, but very simple in nature. This makes it a lot more fun and interesting.

    • @UncleHank1
      @UncleHank1 2 года назад

      Is it called Takoyaki? The game I usually play that is (practically the same thing as this game) called "Garbage". Is Garbage just the american name for the game or is it a completely different game?

    • @Post_Stall_Maneuver
      @Post_Stall_Maneuver 2 года назад +2

      @@UncleHank1 Example:
      Nintendo, a Japanese company, released a game named "Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics." One of the games was *exactly* Trash/Garbage, but most likely due to regional differences, it was named Takoyaki, a common street food found in Japan.
      Even though the game reached international audiences, including America, the game retained the original name for Trash/Garbage in Japan. So we can assume that this is a regional difference.

    • @Post_Stall_Maneuver
      @Post_Stall_Maneuver 2 года назад +1

      @@UncleHank1 Update: Clubhouse Games is the only instance I can find of the game being named Takoyaki. Probably a case Nintendo altering the name to appeal to all audiences.

      Is it called takoyaki because you’re flipping cards over in a grid like you do in a takoyaki pan? Seems like a weird coincidence to me.

    I found out you can play this game with Uno cards
    simply do this
    cards:
    1-9 = cards 1 to 9 (4 of each number)
    Reverse turn = card number 10 (4 of each number)
    +4 = Trashed! (5 cards)
    Change color = Wild! (4 cards)
    +2 = stop! (5 cards)
    amount can be changed for what feels more balanced, or if you know the exact amount of each card you can just copy it

    I played a game like this called Garbage. It used a regular deck, with the jacks and kings as wild and the queens as stop cards. There wasn't an equivalent to trashed cards, and the game went on until either one player won a one card hand or everyone agreed it was a good spot to end. When that happened, the person with the fewest cards won

      There is a clue in the name.
      You can use both Jokers and the Bridge card to do the same.
      And if you want, make up functions for the Aces etc.

    There's a card game that I usually play all by myself and I'm wondering if this game was ever created by someone... because I never heard of someone owning the rights to it!!!
    Here's the set-up of this card game:
    [7] [8] [9] [10] [Jack] [Queen]
    [King] at the end to the right, but half way between the two rolls
    [Ace] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
    The only cards that you need is... Aces, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's, 10's, Jacks, Queens & Kings... the rest of the cards set aside.
    Shuffle all of the cards upside down and put 4 of them under the Ace pile, 4 of them under the 2's pile and so on.
    Take the 1st card off the Ace pile, flip it over and place it under the correct pile... then take a New card faced down under that pile and place it where it belongs and so on.
    If you find the last King before you find the rest of the cards, then you lose.
    If you find the last King after you find the rest of the cards, then you win.
    This game is one player only and all ages are welcome to play.
