Thank you for this! Science Centers are underfunded and shutting down all around the world, so it’s important to keep a public record of these institutions, especially as they’ve changed over time ❤
Thank you for the visit. I have not been there since 1974 ! On CTV I read the one report by an expert that said the areas where roof parts could fall were only about 6% ! This whole closing stinks to high heaven !! I am really surprised Doug Ford does not appreciate the value of this place and it's history. So wrong that citizens do not get a say !
Ya so sad! Really happy we decided to go when we did. Glad to have all that footage. We’ll see if they end up down at Ontario place in the coming years.
It's an absolute crime that they closed this amazing place, apparently the repairs didn't even cost that much but thats what i've heard. I've been here several times in my life, it was so much fun and as someone with Autism, it's a sensory wonderland! I adored all rhe exhibts and I'll miss them greatly.
Hi! I'd love to visit the Science Center but need to avoid the fin whale (pretty severe phobia of whales at play). Is that possible? Can I just avoid the room it's in, or is it kind of out in the middle of everything?
Hi! Yes, you can definitely avoid it. It's located near the end of the building so you can go as far as the rain forest, then turn back. The only thing beyond the whale display is the science arcade.
The Ontario Science Centre is a different experience when the school trip groups are there. All the exhibits are overrun with children, there is a lot of noise with all them talking at once, and there always is a few that are not very nice (to say it politely)
Rest In Peace dear Ontario Science Centre. You are already missed so much!

Hopefully the government keeps its promise of opening a new science centre in the next few years 🤞

I think it's great your little girl got to see it. I'm sure she will remember this forever. Cheers. Can you believe your timing ?
I know. We couldn’t believe it when we heard the news. We’re grateful we got to go just months before it closed.

Ya it’s sad to see it go, but there’s going to be a brand new one (eventually) so you can create new memories with your kids!

Yes, I think it was around lunch when the school trips left and it was more of a quiet museum experience.
