- It was asked for so long so, here it begins. We look at Takeshi Kamen Rider 1 and Hayato Kamen Rider 2 from the Kamen Rider series/movies. And we often get confused which one is which at times.

the actor of rider 1 got injured filming a bike stunt so they introduced rider 2 who took over while rider 1 while was recovering from his injuries. they then brought back rider 1 and kept rider 2 as a reoccurring character
well that explains that. thank you because I was honestly considering a million possibilities.
And from that came the double riders

Kamen Rider divide into Showa Era and Heisei Era. Showa Era was about these protagonist became cyborgs by the evil organization and they use the power to fight them back. Heisei Era is a lot different, it's no longer about being a cyborg, the story is a lot different from Showa Era, some were kid-friendly, others can be dark as hell, yet it's still a kids show in Japan.
Just wait til they get to Gaim. They'll be in for a royal surprise
It's not wise to identifiy them by their strips,look at their gloves, Red is 2,White is 1
but then I find a lot of images where one of them is wearing green gloves. I'm so lost.
rider 1 and 2 where supposed to have been brain washed but where saved before brain washing either happened or fully took hold which explains why rider 1's gloves where green at first also kamen means masked as well as beetle borgs were metal hero battle j i think or its something like that. also the 2 heroes where force fully turned into cyborgs by there enemies the evil shocker and chose to fight them. Also the 2 better looking rider 2 images where in reality the first being rider 1 and the second being rider 2 and those are from the remake darker origins movie kamen rider the first oh and the guy that played rider 1 speaks english i met him before. If you want a good impression of the story somewhat watch the remake movies kamen rider the first and rider the next.
thanks man. I'll find that movie. this has really intrigued me. a big reason I love doing the show is how much info people give me and what all I'm introduced to because of it.
Actually both of them wear green gloves first but the difference is that 1 wear darker green gloves and 2 wear lighter green gloves and you can tell also the difference on the mask 1 mask is black on the top and green on the bottom(mouthpiece) 2 mask is black on the top and had a white on the middle and white or silver on the bottom(mouthpiece) and 1 don't had tripe/s on his side and the strap of his belt is white and 2 had one tripe on his side and the strap of his belt is red.
As figured, creator Shotaro Ishinomori loved having cyborgs as protagonists dating back to Cyborg 009.
Re: Beetleborgs, the Metal Heroes series B Fighter and B Fighter Kabuto are the shows that became ours. Fun fact: Reuben Langdon (Dante from Devil May Cry) was in the later series playing the DragonFly B Fighter who's name was a play on McDonald's and Wendy's

As the previous two post explained, the "Double Riders" Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimongi were respectively kidnapped by Shocker and were altered to be cyborgs.
Far as episode subs, they're hard to find but there's some out there. Hongo's in the earlier episodes but goes off in story to fight other Shocker branches while Ichimongi takes up the mantle in their native Japan until Hongo returns in the 40s thus the Double Rider act was born(in real life Hiroshi Fujioka shattered his leg in stunt accident leading ti leaving the show briefly to recover). Both men and their successors/comrades were mentored by motorcycle coach, race club owner and later a owner of a cafe named Tobei Tachibana. His importance in the first chapter of the Showa era is as everybit important as Bulk and Skull's throughout the Zordon era.
As for the show's early development, Shotaro Ishinomori originally wanted to do a tv adaptation of his Skull Man one shot but a show centered on a anti hero didn't get so Kamen Rider was born and the rest is history. The Skull Man was lator homaged in the form of Kamen Rider Skull in the 2009-10 Heisei Rider show Kamen Rider W (Double) which I look forward to you guys tackling. For all of the Heisei Rider shows up to the newly started Ex Aid and some of Showa era (Amazon, Stronger, Super-1, Black/RX, ZO & J) check out kissasian.com
Um. The gloves can clue you guys to differentiate between Ichi Gou and Ni Gou.
Media Blasters did release the adaptation movie Kamen Rider the First, but its out of print. However you can easily find both the first and the next right here if you want to go down the streaming route...
I did see The First and The Next listed on RUclips but only tried to watch a few minutes for The First first....so far.

also also, a lot of the og riders were cyborgs transformed against their will by the baddies, but before they could be brainwashed, escaped and used their new powers to battle against them
there are kamen rider dvds with subtitles on ebay, but no original kamen rider.

Kamen rider 1 is always white gloves and rider 2 is always red to tell them apart, he stripes dont matter tbh

Far as the suits on 1 & 2, the later costumes (1's double lines and silver gloves/boots and 2's red boots/gloves) are viewed as a power upgrade. You'll see this with Stronger and Skyrider later on as well as all of the Heisei era Riders from Kuuga to (eventually) Ex Aid.
As for 54:30, that pic is from the 2005 film Kamen Rider: The First (which was supposed to be a mash up reboot of the show and the manga that ran concurrent with the show). Hence the 1's costume looking like how the first one on TV did and 2's a light green. Personally, I prefer the film suits since they succeed where TOEI keeps fucking up at: telling the two apart aesthetically.

I was wondering if you were going to review separately the (modernized ) costume from the movie Kamen rider the first & the next ( they're movie reboot of sort) aside from the few images thrown in your video.
Also there is a power up form for ichigo(1) from the movie Kamen rider ichigo(2016), in which Fujioka reprise is role as Takeshi Hongo for the last time.
I thought some of the Kamen Rider The First and The Next costumes were in here.

To figure out which one's first and second, you can look at stripes on their clothing, the one with two stripes is Ichigo(1), the one with one stripe is Nigo (2).
Actually, the HENSHIN began when Nigo appears, previsouly, Ichigo appeared transformed when he's riding the motorcycle, after the actor got injured and Nigo's actor doesn't have any motorcycle lisence, so they go for the hen~~~shin (That's how they said when they transformed).

Kamen Rider Ichigo (1) wears silver gloves and Kamen Rider Nigo (2) wears the red gloves.
and just to be confusing rider 1 has two stripes down his sides and rider 2 has a single stripe :3
so it's really that simple because we were making it way more complicated than it had to be.
actually its very understandable you guys would get confused they were all the time changing up the costumes for both riders not only in their own season but when they turn up for crossovers aswell, honestly they are really easy to mix up
More like confused as hell when getting the images together. Let alone when we were all trying to figure which was which recording this.

OOOOO the last mintues of this video just game me a topic idea......Price compare the Sentai DVDs and Blu rays to which series you would push back your rent or new system for? No Power Rangers Dvds cause i do work for walmart and we sell those volumes for 14 to 12 bucks.
that is a great idea actually I'll bet you we could do an entire episode on just that. And yes I buy those Power Rangers because they're only like $14 at Walmart.
no metal heros were used in big bad beetleborgs and vr trooper karmin rider end after black rx to 2000. they was kamen rider dragon knight it was made for america . karmin rider amazons is go to be shown on amazon us prime
but there was also that Saban Masked Rider series too. Even though it didn't last long.
I may be wrong but i think that both riders have stripes.

But to give a little back story on the original series Kamen Rider Ichigo (1) was kidnapped by this evil organization called Shocker that wanted to turn him into one of their cybernetic soldiers but he managed to escape an use the new powers he gained against Shocker for the sake of good. I'm just saying this now even though it's going to be a while before you get to him but please go easy on Kamen Rider Drive he is my favorite Rider lol.
to be fair I'm not hating the series it just feels the most dated to me. I also think that I was burnt out what I started the series because I've been watching nothing but Rangers straight. as for the backstory I really did that superhero origin.
why cant this show be called Toku Review cause you guys are review tokusatsu show
no reason really. I think it more has to do with the fact that our podcast is already up and running and it was easier to make this a part of the same show.
