Problem with the fortuner is that its an older Diesel and it is older than 10 years (or most models will be soon) which isn't great considering most places don't allow more than 10 year old diesel cars or 15 years.

Two years ago, I got a 2017 model 2.8 4x4 AT Fortuner for 25L, which was driven for 90k KMS. Never regretted my decision. Fortuners are meant to last with reliability scores putting the German brands to shame. While it lacks gizmos and "modern tech", this vehicle stands for quality and commitment to serve.

Japanese are always more reliable than german counterparts. Later starts sucking blood post 4 to 5 year.
A fortuner rammed into a BMW and the fortuner was a total loss and the BMW just had a scratch.

The back seat comparison in the Jimny doesn't accurately represent its space, as the front seat is pushed to the maximum position, which is not fair.

A simple after market headunit upgrade takes care of most of the modern features. Which is not possible in any of the modern cars with integrated in car entertainment.
One of the ‘features’ of fortuner is that there are no annoying beeps for seatbelts or post 80 km and 120 km. No disturbances just drive.
I would love to see how a jimny is after ten years and 1.5 lakh kms.

Did he compare the model make years as well ...fortuners back in the day were mostly diesel . So old fortuner diesel /petrol dont forget it may not run on indian roads for that many years ...plus maintainence cost .makes no sense buying a second hand he calls it a ten year old vehicle which means even petrol will be 5 years road worthy thats 3 lakh dep every year compared to a lakh a year for a 15 year old jimny

The old Gypsy looks so good even now, don't know why Suzuki made Gymny so funny looking. I wouldn't feel comfortable travelling in that, let alone owning or driving one.
Jimny is definitely overpriced. But it will be much cheaper to run and maintain. Also Maruti K series engines are so smooth and reliable that even Toyota loves them! 😂 Used Fortuner is only good if you have high running. And god knows when diesels would get banned entirely 🙃

What’s the reason for people to assume jimny is overpriced when they buy a 3 door thar for 3 lakhs more the price which is not even close to the off-road performance of the jimny with way less features and practicality
