    Thanks, Bryan. Potential users in the RHD market are still left in the lurk if the driver monitoring will work sitting on the other side.

      Yeah, I can’t really comment on RHD scenarios. I know it can be set in Comma but me sitting in the passenger side likely won’t be an accurate representation. Do you have have a Comma Two?

      @@bryan.deleon I am dying to find and equip a compatible vehicle. Very few users in Australia. Stubborn authorities and fiddly insurers. Still I think it is worth a try. There is something of value for money with unique safety that keeps my curiosity wanting it sooner than later. Keep up the good videos, thanks!

      @@lawpickinglocksmith7689 it is definitely worth it ... I have a 2020 forester. Only supported through community maintained forks at this time. It works amazing. I feel it adds a layer of safety while driving long distances or on highway. I would not want to drive far without it.

    Ideally you should be able to mount Comma Two upside down? Then the little camera facing you would be on your driving side, and close to you.

    • @bryan.deleon
      @bryan.deleon  3 года назад +1

      For the US, the selfie camera used for driving monitoring will be closest to the driver. But for right-hand side drivers, it will be further out. If Comma had more resources I’m sure they would also like to make a dedicated right-hand version. But that would mean two assembly lines.
      Are you in a right hand country?

      @@bryan.deleon yes I am, I'm in New Zealand. And it seems like there is a very simple answer: mount the hardware upside down! (and flip the camera images in software)
      This is just the same when you're trying to do a landscape selfie pic of yourself, and you want to swap hands. You just flip around the camera so your hand isn't covering the front camera.

      @@SoundSpeeding the software side might be simple (the AI/Model was trained in one orientation and offset from vehicle center) but the hardware side is where it gets a little complicated since it's not as simple mirroring the 3D print since it has an offset and the sides of the Leco have different button placements.
      Really good place to voice your suggestions would be: github.com/commaai/openpilot/issues with Flag = Enhancement.
      Granted there are a bunch of happy Japan and Australian users; hit up the discord to get their accounts! Good luck. :)

    How is this a hidden setting lol. Such a clickbait title

    • @bryan.deleon
      @bryan.deleon  4 года назад +5

      Check out the Comma Discord and see how many often the two scenarios come up:
      “It looks centered” (when asked how their mount it)
      “The driver monitor isn’t working!”
      The fact that they come up often makes it feel like they are too “hidden” for most users (quotation in the title too).

  • @pavoutsinas

    These are not hidden.

    • @bryan.deleon
      @bryan.deleon  4 года назад +2

      Like I mentioned below, they are "hidden" (quotes) because most users do not know they exist due to non optimized UX. Please check out the Discord server with many users who do not know of these settings, and it is why I made this video. Thanks for watching.
