Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann Realistic refers to things that are in real life, such as logic and physics. A mod can't claim to be realistic if it doesn't make sense

I kinda hate it that many graphic mods make skyrim so bright, shiny and colourful. The cold and harsh looking originL art style is much better in my opinion.

Camelworks No, this is not how it should have looked from the start. Skyrim came out 2011 and it is now 2015. When skyrim came out the graphics were more than fine. Overdoing graphics is a waste of time and will postpone the release for a long time. These mods are nice but don't critisize bethesda for not overdoing it.

Camelworks I doubt a 360 or PS3 would've been able to handle these graphics.
What they do need though is an Elder Scrolls remastered edition. Like have Skyrim, Oblivion, and maybe even Morrowind. Possibly the older ones like Arena, but I'd buy that whole bundle right up.

All this mod has done is add trees, make the picture more colourful, and improved the water textures. I'm not doubting that PC is far better than console, but these graphics really aren't that impressive. Seeing them during actual gameplay running at 60fps would be better.

I still play Skyrim on my xbox 360 and the performance is fucking terrible: 24fps gameplay and loading screens lasting about 30 seconds (plus no mods). In this video, the mods shown really aren't that impressive, so OP's sarcastic comment is largely redundant.
Wait just re-read your comment there. This is mod vs original PC version, there's no xbox 360 footage at all. Still, my comment still stands that this mod really isn't that impressive (compared to what I've seen).

Amazing mod for an amazing game!
In my opinion, the next step for a current generation Elder Scrolls game, should be seamless transition between in and out doors, adding the ability to view the interior of a building/dungeon from the outside and vice versa. Many games are doing this right now (Dragon Age Inquisition, Far Cry 4, The Witcher 3, etc), so Bethesda should be taking notes.
Bethesda games always have a large scale so hopefully they be able to add them. Also Bethesda has there own press conference at E3 this year, so more then likely they will be announcing a new game engine and Fallout 4, though they could tease Elder Scrolls 6, but more then likely Fallout 4 will come out first.
Paulo Lameiras I think that's THE goal. Problem is is that Bethesda will look to make the game so much bigger, a bigger game means sacrificing certain things, and when you consider that the next one will definitely be on consoles... it just looks unlikely.
Here's hoping that they can do it, or they make it so PC guys can do it (a feature that you can turn on/off maybe?) - or we're gonna have to rely on the modding community to get it done.
If Fallout 4 comes out and we can transition into and out of buildings with no load times, the next Elder Scrolls game should be able to too! Here's hoping!!!
Paulo Lameiras There is already a mod which loads cities into the world map. I wouldn't think it would be a stretch to say that same mod could also load the interiors to buildings into the world map as well.
Paulo Lameiras I don't think they would be able to make seemless transitions yet, especially not on the PS4 or Xbone, elder scrolls has far bigger worlds than other games, they could shorten the loading times, though. I just hope the next installment surpasses Skyrim in all aspects, it'll be a tough task.
Penguinox all they need to do is be a little more intelligent with the city entrances. Open Cities already has plenty of patches to allow city overhauls to work with it, so there is nothing limiting this but the fact that the engine has to load up a significant open area around the cities as well as the cities themselves.
If they were to arrange the city entrances in such a way that they could allow the engine to dump much of the surrounding terrain and concentrate on the nearest half of, say, Solitude, they would give the illusion of having detailed cities within the worldspace, while limiting any performance impact.
The biggest problem with Bethesda is their over-reliance on modders to fix their mistakes. Just look at the number of fixes the unofficial patches contain - why were these fixes never incorporated into an update...?

Ganderful Duckface Who stuck what up your ass? What's wrong with an i3? It's a perfectly awesome budget chip which will handle most games at 60fps paired with the i3. You can always just pop it out and grab an i7 in the future, too.
Man, I don't really dig mods that seem to kill the atmosphere that Skyrim is supposed to give you. It's supposed to be a cold place, these mods made it look like a warm fuzzy place to live in.
People often times ignore the authenticity of a work and the creators intentions so they can create their own interpretations, it is the reason I don't like graphics mods like these, if a game didn't look good because of a downgrade that's one thing, but I'm of the opinion that maybe a game like this should be allowed to age as it is. But then again I don't have to download this mod anyways soooo I guess it's up to the player

The mods are beauty but, as you say, kill somehow the dark atmosphere. ARgggg don't know what to do haha but for sure that i do not want any skyrim looked as some sort of witcher 3 happy-world graphics :S
+Martín cpt i had the same problem you have and I only installed mods for caves, dust and snow and just an overhaul for textures. I really can say that my mods don't effect the atmosphere. You really need time to check out which mods fit or not!

Although it did cost almost $700, and I did have to do research for months in order to build it. I think it was worth it. I got all the best sales possible. Don't worry person, everyone starts small.

I think the reason I enjoy playing oblivion more (graphics wise) is that there's a lack of colour to Skyrim, everything is a shade of grey where as in oblivion is more vibrant and exciting, Skyrim just feels depressing,
I realise that Cyrodil is more central so therefore will be warmer so the grass will be greener and the plants will be brighter, but Skyrim just feels so cold (colour not temperature)

I'm a console gamer, but it's pretty obvious why they're charging full price for the console version of the Skyrim remaster, while the PC version is free for those who have already purchased the DLCs. Because there will be far less difference between Skyrim on PC with graphics mods and the Skyrim remaster. I would invest in a gaming PC just for Skyrim, Fallout 4, and all the mods. I know they're starting to advertise mods for consoles, but even though I love console gaming, I know the mods won't be nearly as good as what you can get on PC. It's just how it is, and I love how creative and talented the Mod-generating community is for Skyirm and Fallout. You guys are fucking awesome, and you make gaming better for everyone.

I love how the Vanilla game looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland version of the mod version. These mods are incredibly resource heavy though.

Da bisher alle Versuche von mir es so aussehen zu lassen kläglich gescheitert sind, da ich keine Ahnung vom modden habe, bitte ich dich/ euch flehend darum ein ausführliches Tutorial zu machen, wäre echt genial von euch! Und was ihr auch mal machen könntet, ist so ein Mod/Vanilla Vergleich von GTA 4, da gibt's ja auch einiges zu sehen. Schönen Abend noch und einen guten Start in die neue Woche, Adrian.
du kannst einfach nach den mods aus der liste am ende des videos im steam workshop suchen und diese abonnieren, der rest passiert von ganz alleine =)

***** hab ich damals auch aber ich bin vor monaten auf den steam workshop bei skyrim gestoßen, hab den da wohl immer übersehen und jetzt benutze ich den nur noch weil das damit deutlich einfacher ist, einfach abonnieren drücken schon werden die mods runtergeladen und installiert, selbst wenn man das spiel neuinstalliert, damit erspart man sich auch das neue zusammensuchen etc :3

it shouldnt. it would just affect the way the game looks even though there are mods that affect gameplay butthey are separated from those which only modify the graphics

The mods kind of ruins it imo. It looks graphically a lot more detailed and advanced, sure.. but it changes the intended feel and mood way too much. Everything is too warm and colourful in what was supposed to be a cold, melancholic environment.
Those tombes at 2:27 didn't look warm at all, it would scare the shit out of me :p
Personally, I think that all modded skyrim videos I've seen hardly look better than the original game, and mostly not at all. They completely lack coherent design. It happens when you have 100 different people working on a improving a certain graphical aspect without taking into consideration the changes others make. The design lacks direction. They simply don't work together well once everything is put back together. You might say that original Skyrim has bad textures and poor lightning effect, but at least it doesn't look like 100 artist painted over a same picture and blended it together. I prefer that a design is coherent, and as much as some lonely fellow puts hours into changing a particular flower model in skyrim, once that model does not fit the tree next to it, then we have a problem.

I'll take my modded skyrim that is HD and beautifully colored over the originals mudded out, brown visuals. Not to mention the fact that the NPC's all look like dog shit. With Mods, you can make the NPC's handsome or beautiful. The children no longer look like little men running around, you can actually make them look like male and female children through modding. I'd say modding makes Skyrim look 20 times better than the original in every way. From lighting to weather effects, the game looks great across the board with mods. This video proves just that.

The music soundtrack makes a top game the best of all time for me. I'd love to play again with these mods in place. Stunning.

I think u guys who are saying: modders are better than developers.. Etc are wrong. Jusy remind when skyrim begun, 5 years ago. It was just a graphic revolution. And the elder scrolls VI, on which bethesda is actually working on, will be one of the most fcking beautiful game u'll play. And in 5 years modders will be able to do a better job than bethesda actually. Just like for skyrim right now. Finally i just have to say that the actual originals skyrim graphics DOESNT represent the bethesda capacities.

Even more impressive than the improved textures and lighting is the use of color and contrast to give the world more depth.

the flame and watereffects look beautiful, but in some scenes the colours appear oversaturated (especially outside on daylight). Just too much colour to fit in this cold setting (just my opinion) :)
This creates amazing feeling when when watching! I hope Bethesda makes the next TES with similar graphics to the mod and nice enviorment and you have the best game ever! Also im sure they will have the job done with quests and gameplay. And we need another awesome soundtrack!

Freedom Fighter Not sure what you mean by this, but my PC is not the best, Sure, it handles Skyrim and the few mods I have on there (simple ones like Frostfall and Realistic Needs, footprints.ect) And I'm happy enough with it. Don't get me wrong. But it would be nice to download that long list of mods without losing fps. They indeed make Skyrim beautiful.
Look around for Performance mods in order to download more texture mods. I have a i5 4690k and a GTX 980. And i still download performance mods. 3 i can think of is

the soil and the fire already looked realistic enough and didn't need an overhaul and the sky wasn't cloudy enough but everything else, I loved.
the most realistic part of the collection has to be the lighting. most people know that a torch or fire actually doesn't put out as much light as the game originally projects.

Skyrim is my favorite game of all time. I have been playing it since 2012, and I started playing on xbox 360, but just a few weeks ago I got it on PC and it is a whole new experience with mods installed. My love for the Elder Scrolls series will never die!

More like technology has advanced further since the game released about 4 years ago. Since Skyrim has open modding that means that the game can advance with the tech that is available.

I'm not stupid, I know it took a lot of artists to make it, and it's not how many artists there are that matters, it's how skilled they are that does.
And the colors give the game life. I know it's supposed to be "dead", but no one wants to look at bland colors for hours.

Also being allowed to mod a game means that you don't have to look at "dead" textures all the time. You can change that that is your choice. This is how they wanted the game to look if you want it to look different then change it.

Honestly I wasn't impressed lol That's sad for a graphics overhaul mod really. Not trying to be a dick or a downer but to me I'd rather have the original version sometimes because of the feel of what Bethesda was trying to create with the locations. Skyrim is a cold place so the feeling of colorful flowers and shit make no sense at all and made me laugh.
I get your point, I personally like the fantasy look and am running something similar. You could swap for the bleak enb which would give these nice textures but with a colder and less colourful atmosphere.

The change in the color scheme makes such a big difference in Skyrim. All the grey-ish colors can wear you down after a long game

You're a no brainer. Do you really think the guys who created Skyrim couldn't make the graphics be like in this mod? Of course they could, but then most gamers wouldn't be able to run the game. When a company designs a game it has to work on consoles and on lower end pcs, so they make the best graphics that can still be processed on a weaker system.

I just started a new game last night. 1st time since I re-bought it on Steam in July of 2013. I put in over 200 hours on a single character when it came out on 360. Now my wife even wants to try it because it's still so beautiful, even without the mods. Can't wait for the SE rerelease on consoles in October.

AryanIsDaBest that won't be cheap considering mods take up lots of RAM if you run them at once, I would say get an i5 and a 1060, but if cheapness is your priority go for AMD (don't really follow AMD that much but i heard the rx 480 is a beast)
1050ti can get you atleast 30fps with mods if youre on budget, just buy the 4gb version
and again, you cant expect 60fps with max settings and mods if youre on budget, unless maybe you wanna switch to another performance friendly enb, realvision is one heavy enb
gtx 1050ti, older i5 or newer i3 and 8gb ram should do it
actually no, skyrim has 3,1gb ram usage limit, eventhough you have more than 4 or 8gb, it'll only use 3,1gb, that's just skyrim's engine limitation
just get more than 3gb vram and you're good to go

I honestly have tons of 2k, 4k & 8k mods, multiple recipes i saw on RUclips on how to mix them, i managed to to mix them together using Mod Manager but inside the game nothing much changed like in the videos, the grass still the same not tall, colorful, full of life, trees in/around Whiterun are made of purple cubes, the characters are not as realistic as its shown in the Videos, the buildings slightly changed, in general lots of things are not as good as the Videos show & i Have a GTX 970m + easily running the game on a 2560x1600 Ultra resolution, not to mention that i cant play with these modifications without using Mod Manager.
Even i add them inside Skyrim Data manually, i still don't get that much of an advanced quality improvement, so either the Videos on RUclips are overrated or something is wrong with my laptop.

Backup your data and format your computer. Instal your operational system on the 64 bits version so it will recognize 4gb of RAM and programs will work better.

Maybe it's just me but it feels, like this video perfectly explains Not only how poorly made the Original Skyrim Graphics were but also how More work could've been imputed. Specifically into the Graphics
IRL it's -30 outside and it looks nice and warm through the window. This is much more realistic than the original. Cold weather is still very colourful.
This is nice, there's some lovely work put into it; some of the changes make things look a little too clean, though.
The part that amazes me the most, is how the game looked amazing before these mods and only then, do you see how plain it actually looked.
