Effie it is completely fine here. BA and Chile would be a great introduction to SA for you. There's lots that would seem familiar, but at the same time it's very different - Trevor
Why are you afraid? It's like any other big city in the world, just use your common sense and you'll be fine. BA is a safe city, I walk at 3am in the street alone and I'm fine. Just don't go flashing expensive stuff or that you are a foreigner and you'll be fine.

Oh goodness that book store looks amazing! We were in Livraria Lello in Porto this June and loved it as well. Visiting some of the world's most beautiful book stores sounds like something we would love to do and we will definitely visit this one when we get to Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is one of the cities we have on our list of places to visit! We can hardly wait to get there one day. Great footage and amazing recommendations. Thanks for sharing! :)

Great video you guys! This helped me in deciding what area to stay in. Palermo Hollywood versus Recoleta. I am leaning towards Palermo. The bookstore is amazing! We will definitely put that on our list. Cheers!
Obviously, the Ateneo Library will not have a wide selection of books in English, since the main language is Spanish, the same happens in the US bookstores where the selection of books in Spanish is limited.

BA has always been the "Paris from the South" or Little Paris. Thats where you get the vibe. Even the most famous decoration houses from 1890 - 1900 had stores located in BA since the rich people LOVED european palaces and had money enough to build them.

While the mausoleums in Recoleta are above ground, it's not because of floods but created to show the economic prowess of the rich families or guilds (like the actors' guild which have a big one in the cemetery) that built them. In fact, most of them extend a couple meters below ground and even one or two floors!
The Japanese Garden in BA it's said to be the biggest outside Japan. There are many many bookstores in Buenos Aires, specially on Corrientes Avenue. But you may finde "librerías de viejo" (old people bookstores where you can find used books, sometimes very special. Buenos Aires has it midday near 01:00 PM, so every timetable is moved accordingly. Lunch is normally between 13:00 and 15:00. And we tend to eat quite late. At home is about 21:00. Young people do the "previa" (previous) starting about 22:00 or 23:00 and then go to dance places not before 24:00 or 01:00 in the night. At Buenos Aires you should taste pizza, quite different of the italian version. You have to types "media masa" which has a bready base, and "a la piedra" which has a thin base and the borders are crisp.
Hi! The US Dollar is about 59 AR pesos right now. The Euro is about 65 AR pesos. Always exchange in a trusted bank or exchange shop. Don´t trust people who exchange on the street.
If you want to visit Japan, I recommend November or April. Japan deserves at least three weeks to not go back there - but it's going back because it's so wonderful. Japan is the best country I've visited. For me, this is a tourist paradise. In Europe, I know some interesting cemeteries: Powązki in Warsaw, Lychakiv in Lviv, Rasos in Vilnius. The Ossuary in Kutna Hora, Kudowa Zdrój (Kudowa Zdrój is a spa resort not far away from me). It is a pity you were not in Patagonia or the Iguazu waterfalls. I miss the Patagonia. 9:41 pierogi and beer perfect combination but why chopsticks?
Szymon if we did Japan during 1 of those 2 months where would you start and end? Those are dumplings at the end and I guess because they are considered Asian you get chopsticks. You could easily eat pierogi with chopsticks too haha - Trevor
I would start or end in Tokyo or Okinawa. The reason is simple - Japan Rail Pass. It's now 779 CAD for 14 days in first class. The journey of Shinkansen is already an adventure. You love beaches so Okinawa (Ishigaki) don't miss it. I recommend Osaka, Kyoto, Himeji Castle (the most beautiful in the world for me), Hiroshima. What to avoid - the "golden week", the beginning of May. The Japanese have free time and that means high prices.

Buenos Aires is very nice. My favorite tomb in the Recoleta Cemetery was of a young girl that died and her dog died soon after of sorrow, they buried them together and made a nice statue representing both. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_of_Liliana_Crociati_de_Szaszak The saying in Argentina or Buenos Aires, you are nobody unless you are buried there.

Delightful Travellers yup!!! i love this type of youtube content! i watch it with my mom bc she loves to travel too, where are you guys planning on going next? if you stay in argentina you should definitely visit Villa la Angostura, Calafate (and see the glaciar) or Bariloche! but since you're canadian you've probably seen those type of landscapes before, so i'd go with Cataratas del Iguazú in Misiones and then take a trip to Brasil ;)

They are dumplings actually. That place makes japanese food mostly. Ramen, dumplings, udon, etc. I actually didn't like the dumplings made at that place (called Koi Dumplings)
And mine came with sauce, idk why they didn't give these people sauce. No sé por qué hablo en inglés si seguro hablas español ajjajajajja pero los dumplings de ese lugar sí vienen con salsa, no sé que habrán flashado que no se la dieron

Delightful Travellers yup!!! i love this type of youtube content! i watch it with my mom bc she loves to travel too, where are you guys planning on going next? if you stay in argentina you should definitely visit Villa la Angostura, Calafate (and see the glaciar) or Bariloche! but since you're canadian you've probably seen those type of landscapes before, so i'd go with Cataratas del Iguazú in Misiones and then take a trip to Brasil ;)

Otro cementerio sería Chacarita (la parte antigua).
Si lo ves como un museo tiene su encanto.

Those are not dumplings, they're empanadas, you eat them with your hand, not chopsticks and they must not be deep on sauce.
They are dumplings actually. That place makes japanese food mostly. Ramen, dumplings, udon, etc. I actually didn't like the dumplings made at that place (called Koi Dumplings)
And mine came with sauce, idk why they didn't give these people sauce. No sé por qué hablo en inglés si seguro hablas español ajjajajajja pero los dumplings de ese lugar sí vienen con salsa, no sé que habrán flashado que no se la dieron
