MANHUNTS 1 - 4 STORY
• The Story Behind the M...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I just really feel bad for Castillo this is one of the stories of this game that just breaks my heart
Same
Castillos Story is truly a „When the villains speech lowkey makes sense“ Moment
I feel bad for the guy but he has to understand that he's not the only one that lost a family, there's millions that were affected by this , to me its not enough reason to really go rogue and blame it on the government and the division but at the same time I could understand why, just human nature, great video as always mate!
It did dawn on me that the propaganda part of this manhunt was different the first time I played. It wasn't until the second time I did it that I listened and liked how they incorporated a regular part of the game with new manhunt. It worked. But I can see a lot of people missing it.
But NGN always on point with making sure the lore gets out there!
Oh there were around 10 different recordings in the propaganda recording.
I was only able to squeeze a couple of them into this. Some of them are really good, and get you thinking.
@@NGN so I need to replay again. Damn them!!!! I just noticed it was different the first time, and paid a bit of attention the second. I didn't know there were more to it!
Haha yip, this is the depth I love.
I spent about 30 minutes at the speaker listening to them all.
They seem to play in a random order. I may have missed some for all I know.
That's the problem with this game in general that the important story tidbits are often playing while you're either shooting or running and collecting loot or doing something else, preventing you from stopping and realising that something important is being played back. I've sunk hundreds of hours into both games and I'm still semi-lost on the whole story aspect.
@@cypher9000 I can understand that. I have heard similar complaints in games that lock/explain their story behind unlockables. That they need to find an audio tape or book. It is a totally justifiable concern. I found it interesting and good use of a game play mechanic. If I hadn't noticed that it was different and checked and delayed my completion of the propaganda point the second time and didn't watch this video, I would have never known. It just dawned on me as I did the first time that the voice was different and saying something different.
If they do a 3rd division, I hope they can do a better job with the story overall for the players.
Castillo's story is one that I think is one that often drives those that believe they are unlawfully good to believing their work is justified. It's sad and horrible but the story is one that they use to justify their actions.
Even though i only played the first Division - Iam allways amazed by the amount of work and thought went into presenting us these ingame Stories.
NgN ur such an amazing Guy :) !
That Cutscene in the beginning when Kelso was talking about Isac I feel like she knows it’s been hacked by someone else.
If Kelso turns on us, I am gonna be very disappointed
They’re weren’t kidding when they said motivations would shift from sympathetic to monstrous.
Castillo speech does make some sense, sad he joined the true sons as they have done some inhuman stuff too and have labor camps. Hope we keep getting grey story's where nobody is good or bad
I feel really bad for Castillo. He was pushed to the edge by Anderson and I am really sympathetic for him. Sidenote, I really like how we get hear from Dusk again. Nice call back to Season 3
Hope for video of what's the future of Tom Clancy's video games in what situation.
As we get more items, builds, game modes, locations ect.. it gets harder to keep the STORY at top of mind...
I appreciate you keeping us all "on target"!
Another great vid!
This character is one of the instances that you get a sympathetic mainly because of what happened to them...
Hell the most sympathetic I get to my characters (I love making characters) is when I make something traumatic to them or straight up abandoned
Are you familiar with the origin storys of DC villains? Joker, Bane, Two Face and so on?
@@jshwck4210 yeah
I'm meaning that this character is pretty good sympathetic character for what they made in 5 months
Paraphrasing here - "sometimes good men must do bad things to keep the world safe"
The man is back. Such a long time i dont see u giving a story about Division lore. Keep going man!
Your videos always put me in a mode that makes me want to play…
Major Castillo is another example of a normal man who's sanity and moral compass been pushed towards the edge due to his unfortunate circumstances. It just proves that good and evil are nothing more than artificial constructs we came up with to simplify the complexities of human nature.
Great video. Been loving the new update. Glad my favorite game is getting a second chance.
Sick video man.
A lot seems to be spinning around reactors, and the thing (to not give away any spoilers) in the Lau logs now.
I wonder if this all has something to do with Heartlands as it would piece together well with the info we have at this moment.
I am eagerly waiting for your upcoming video covering how the hunters factor into this new season.. I am sure you already have a few theories in the chamber.
Rewatching your videos non-stop recently! Thanks.
Thank YOU! 😊
Man I love your division lore
"Do Not Believe the Governments Lies" _ Castillo
So relevant to whats going on right now in real life.
Glad someone else caught the propaganda broadcasts by Castillo, a great little detail that's making this the best Manhunt so far. Looking forward to your future videos around the Season 9-11 narratives.
First Like, then Watch. I waited for this!
Wow 😎 cool 😎
As the story continues it turns to us maybe denying some of the Division ideals or even going rogue
Maybe in a third
Awesome again man, thank you. Please keep them comming.
I cant wait for more of yr videos
Fantastic video! I really like the True Sons faction. New True Sons content = good stuff.
Castillo’s story made me question something: can a genuinely good person still be good even when taking an evil path? Or do they become evil automatically?
I say no to this because it is a complicated path that leads to what they become now. While he did start out a good person, his actions eventually lead to him being more evil overtime until he no longer can determine what is good and what is evil anymore. He let grief blind him to the harm he does to others and wanted something to justify the wrongs he is doing is good. He saw that through General Anderson and just accepted it despite a small part of him knew it was wrong but he ignored that part because he just wanted someone, anyone, to take his anger out on for the death of his wife and child.
If he had met the right people, Castillo may have not fallen down this path but sadly he did not. As a result he was constantly being "supported" for doing bad things by General Anderson because that was what kept him under Anderson's control. At this point, he crossed the point of no return as his mind was set on who will be blamed for the death of his wife and child.
@@orrthehunter the old saying, the path to hell is laid with good intentions, fits here
Castillo would be “the ugly” in the phrase “the good, the bad and the ugly”
@@orrthehunter i don’t disagree, but here’s the thing: he didn’t meet the right people. He just so happened to have met the wrong ones, manipulative assholes who exploited his grief. He probably didn’t know any better.
Plus, it’s not like The Division and what’s left of the U.S. institutions are necessarily the good guys in this scenario either.
It’s a complicated life and death situation especially the endless conflicts of other hostile factions and what’s left of the virus it can change a life for better or worst.
Incredible story. Still love the intro.
I feel bad hearing these Target’s stories just to beam them with my Pyromaniac M4 in a matter of minutes
One target down and honestly, I feel so much better about the story already. A greyer character that's also happen to be done decently well, on top of the cutscene in the beginning. Promising stuff for the story going forward.
You deserve more subscribers ✌️
Id love to see/hear more about Castillo he's a dope a$s character 👌
Yes another lore story I love listening to these lore stories keep making more.
Good thing I watched this video before I made my hunter theory, I couldn't remember who Edwards was and I thought they were talking about the one that got killed by a hunter.
Always makes a story better when you have a bit of sympathy for the "bad guys".
Was wondering when this would come out! Great vid as always, NGN! Also, hearing this made me feel a little bad for Castillo. Hopefully they keep up this storytelling throughout the rest of the season!
Glad it didn't disappoint 😊
From what I'm hearing, this is the sort of direction we'll be seeing throughout this season!
@@NGN I'm glad that they're going in this direction!
Also let's be real, your vids don't disappoint (at least they don't disappoint me)
Well done, I missed a lot of this when I played through it.
Amazing job!! The lore is beautiful.
I wish there were side stories to the agent/enemy conflict, like in The Division 1, where we had April Kelleher and the radio guy
What happened to Washington,New York and even in the DZ’s made me feel bad for everyone who died either to the virus or because of the fighting
Nice job, mate! Interestingly, when I hit the propaganda location I didn't hear what you had about green poison. It was about the state of the division and how the best thing they've been good at was losing agents. Could be there are multiple propaganda broadcasts recorded by Castillo, although I haven't tried hitting any other True Sons propaganda locations to see if they're playing the Castillo messages as well or if they're just doing the same old ones. The possibility of multiple messages makes sense though as it plays into the "state of the world" and Anderson using Castillo for propaganda purposes.
Out of interest I went back and checked some True Sons propaganda broadcasts. All were running the same broadcasts as they have done all game. It was only the one that was the specific manhunt target which was Major Castillo - at least so far as I've found. Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, although replacing them just for people who have started the manhunt probably is quite complex.
So Dusk thought The Division was corrupt and then signed on with the Fucking True Sons? That's like leaving a burning building for the center of a volcano.
The True Sons are the fascist law and order faction. These types surround a aura of control.
The Division are sleeper agents who are close to being unconstitutional.
Shes doing it more for herself
After hearing his story, I wish we could join Castillo.
Will there be a lore vidéo about the iron horse raid ? I loved the one about dark hours !! Your work is amazing !!!!
It’s funny to see the true sons dealing with infrastructure.
I believe after captain Lewis we will see reveal of general Anderson
no matter how sad their story is, it is really difficult for me to pity any of them after what the villain and their goons did to the innocents.😅
He knows the truth
Maj. Castillo. Status: Deceased
Hey NGN I’m wondering if you can do a video on how agents choose their abilities like turrets or seeker mines and things like that like do they get to choose them or are they given to them based on their skill set
With so many either defecting from the JTF, or Division, or willingly go to questionable organizations like the True Sons or Black Tusk, has there been any character from the "bad guys" that come over to the "good guys" side? Particularly the Division? And I don't mean one as a double or triple agent...someone that started as an antagonist, but after a few interactions, and debates goes on your side? 🤔 That's one thing I would like to see.
Granted there are some rather questionable motives with the Division and jtf overall, I can't see why someone from the other side, sees what they are doing, and defects from their initial bad guy organization to our side..
Maybe Bardon Schaeffer. It’s possible I think if Schaeffer were to found out about the black tusk was actually working for. He’s a patriot, but mislead or didn’t know the bigger picture of black tusk.
One of Rhodes old LMB buddies defected when he thought they were going too far
@@randomcenturion7264 I remember that side quest in Div 1, and noticed the little easter egg that referenced the Highlander Franchise
Calling it, McManus is either a division commander (either central, or western) or the leader of the hunters. Some of which are getting off-mission as well...
A chance to fight the Hunter’s boss… perfect 👍🏻
All the manhunt voices sound the exact same at this point
off topic of castillo but i was wondering when i was playing i was in washington dc keep in mind and there were cleaner checkpoints and activities?
Ture sons in far cay 👍
Is this Castillo related to the Castillo who was executed in the True sons trial echo?
ey man what is your build????
1:47 "Her main concern is that the doctor might prescribe her something that might harm her unborn baby"
So you don't plan on telling the doctor you are pregnant should you seek treatment? Or you think you know better than a professional doctor? Smh
Major is a higher rank than captain, why is Lewis in charge?
I struggle to take their ranks seriously, as half the time they're giving them to themselves
I think the best officers are giving command i think what they do outranks everything
In the military as a civilian you sometimes get a rank according to your education/paygrade. On a mission lawyers, doctors, meteriologists and cultural advisers get high ranks but have no idea how anything works. But mostly they don't try to act as commanding officers.
A bit of a random question, what happend to our agent in division 1 and where are they now?
If I remember correctly Aaron Keener killed them, I think I remember it being mentioned he killed a large amount of Wave 1 agents who didn't join him, I doubt the D1A would side with him, thus death. That is what I think anyway
Are we getting a new dlc
Cod modern warfare black ops cold war lore video you do
can you give me that intro music
Intro: Mortuary (Division OST)
It truly is sad that he lost his wife and child simultaneously, but you cant help to wonder how dumb is he? Blaming it on the ones that had barely anything to do with it.
On the side note I've always liked how the Division franchise can make characters so dislikable and dumb regarding their morals, values and logic.
So he lost his family. As did millions. He's not special, just a crybaby.
It’s not looking good brev
