I can’t imagine ALL of the Hunters are working for Black Tusk. I think it’s far more likely that this Hunter in particular was offered a deal. He does Schaefer’s dirty work tying up loose ends, neutralizing the rogue agents he was working with, and in return, the Hunter was promised some new hardware, the shrapnel trap. Also, this is the only hunter so far who doesn’t have a ballistic mask. That could be used to signify that he wasn’t liked by the other Hunters, possibly because they knew of his dealings with their enemies. Something else I find odd is when Schaefer talks to him, you can hear the Hunter respond with like some weird inaudible mechanical noise.
I like to believe the Hunters have different sub-factions, where they have Hunters that betrayed them, Loyal Hunters and Rogue Hunters, sort of like Demon, as he doesn’t kill you on your first encounter with him
Loved this one. Big fan of your work man I love how you present these videos and your narrations. My go to source for my lore information. Your voice is the Morgan Freeman of RUclips.
Love these, keep them coming. As I watch and listen to these videos, I am often reminded of the work and effort that has gone in, to making The Division 1 & 2. I know the game play has drawn some toxic conversations. Alas, I still like the story and game play...
The Division story is addictive idk why it’s just so interesting in so many ways they’re just so many questions like who are the hunters or are the division in the right but to many questions without answers leads to severe consequences
based on season 3 comms it sounds like black tusk's employers are tired of their failures and decided to recruit rogue agents into black tusk and Bardon Schaeffer thinks that it's a bad idea
after this season I'm starting to believe the hunters are mercs, speculating they are a private american military unit and Natalya is russian, since they do have that ranking tattoo and are working with The BT (black tusk) or maybe something other than the BT, since when she talks to Schaeffer she said "they wanted BT to colaborate with the government", which makes me think these are 2 groups working together, maybe the russian government is the one handling the BT or atleast something from there.
The hunters are too densely secreted to just be special assassins for Black Tusk. But Sokolova is definitely linked to them in some way. There was an idea that the hunters are fallen agents who have been brainwashed and mentally simplified by shock therapy to be obedient to one person. A shadow hand to handle situations with a deft touch. Sokolova could be their handler. A force kept separate from Black Tusk as a backup for if the BTSU ultimately fails. The Agent Edward's hunter could have been undergoing a combat evaluation for Sokolova by attacking us in that building all that time ago. The locations of the other hunters could really be seen as assigned safe spots to go dark until called upon by Natalia. The fact the hunter attacked the Rikers was probably to lull the agent and remove a nuisance for Shaeffer.
I somehow managed to kill a Hunter when I was doing the Belfry contract. He wasn't wearing the typical style of mask like the ones that you can collect from the open world hunters. He had a chrome skull mask. Not sure if that is useful but a FYI
One of the comms shows that Bardon has doubts on Faye Lau and her rogue agents, so he might actually sent the hunter to kill the other 4 rogues and then, set Coney Island as a trap so that he could eliminate Faye
With how good Natalia’s English was and lacking a thick accent, I think we’ll find that the Sokolova family helps fund the BTSU with their weapons company(ies) “Sokolov Concern” and possibly more However I think this particular Hunter is an outlier, and doesn’t represent all hunters, I stick with the notion that they’re part of a Third Wave “cleanup crew” of some sorts
nice video. still need to replay the manhunt mission for the remaining comms. the taking Schaffaer prisoner part will probably be part of the next manhunt's story, or even Div3's. if the leaks are true, and Faye is the next target, it will be an interesting manhunt, plot wise.
I have some possible new information about the hunters. I think that there is 2 waves of hunters purely based on the shape of the masks and that the "2nd wave" was only accessible by NYC expansion.
I was just watching your Kelso video, and noticed Manny had a nut cracker on his map, and it made me wonder. WHAT IS UP WITH THE NUTCRACKERS? They seem to be placed in strange places all over the place in NYC, not unlike the manicens in Fallout. Video maybe?
I also think Hunters might be remnants of Bardon’s old team who took up a hobby in collecting Agent Watches.... makes sense, Bardon told the Black Tusk co-leader he already had a team and was then told to find the baddest of the bad. Cutthroats and what not.
lol didn't notice bardon was wounded :D kinda went overkill and wiped them out. Though knowing Clancy books and writing style (even with ghostwriters now filling in since he's gone), one of these enemies will turn into assets.
I may have stopped playing this game but that won't stop me from follow the lore through NGN and Mastermind HD. That aside, I am glad Bardon Schaeffer lived. He is one of the more interesting characters in the game and who knows, he may even get a redemption arc once he finds out how the client the Black Tusks is working for is behind everything and been playing both sides of this conflict. He may have some guess about the Black Tusk's client part in the green poison outbreak but you can only guess just how angry he may get if he finds out the Client is also behind setting up the Division to be full of these crazy people. He may even start considering the Client no different from the old US government or maybe far worse.
I like these manhunt summaries. Though I don't do them cause skill not worth it for me. Other I do when I'm after loot. Overall I think it fascinating and that it's the environment against a player. Or the fourth wall breaking.
Why didn’t Schaffer just cut off wraith, she was only a logistics officer she didnt bring anything new or unique to the table and if she were to try to attack the btsu with the hyenas, they would get crushed so idk why Schaffer was using resources on her
It does seem strange. None of these Rouges or their groups seemed worth the effort. Maybe back in their prime, but now they're just the tattered remnants of depraved lunatics.
Honestly @NGN you should do a questionare for this season 3 manhuant not gonna lie love all your back ground story videos keep doing them and keep up the good work you always have me hook in everytime at the start
Honestly I think the hunters are contractors that black tusk hired to hunt down and kill the rouge agents during the man hunt. Hopfully in the next manhunt we see more hunters involved =]
Im actually feeling better about the story, watching this videos. The devs seem to freely acknowledge how fundamentally broken an agency with this much power would be.

We definitely need you to make another "Speculation" video. Man Hunt Season 3 is starting to put the pieces together. It isnt a coincidence that Vitaly Tchernenko and Natalya Sokolova are both Russian. I have a theory that Schaffer hired the hunter to eliminate the rogue agents because he didn’t have faith in them and to tie up loose ends but the division kept getting In the way.
Natalia Sokolova happens to be the daughter of Sokolov (Sokolov Concern Brand set). She was the one that was in charge and calling the shots long before the BTSU even came to play. However, I now think that she will be the one to call the shot on killing president ellis and actually getting us blamed for the killing thus being casted as rogues. it is then that we will get more in depth into the hunters and where they came from and whose been hiring them.
Schaeffer seems like a good man but in a bad side of the coin. Really professional yet human at the same time. We really need to know what the fuck are the Hunters, Russians or the most deep Black Ops operators in the US?
They would. IIRC, there's a com item between 2 Agents that tells the story about one Agent abandoning his mission to go home to his place, make sure his folks are safe, but that would risk his Wristwatch turning red. If I remembered Correctly.
I managed to kill the hunter while going after Dusk. Stun lock with 3 riot foams and full Sweet Dreams to that face mask did the trick. I tried to repeat that trick while after belfry but he vanished. still I LOVE that the Hunters are finally in a story mission, they are so much fun to fight.
Yeah I managed to kill him a couple of times before he vanished, using the shock trap. I know it wasn't intended for us to kill them, but it was a fun challenge!
When i was fighting on Coney Island, after i critical wounded Bradon Schaeffer that i heard on comms that he's still alive that Retriever team picks him up. I am just guessing that Hunters were secretly working with Black Tusk and Natalya Sokolov. (sorry for my english=
Had this been a real Hunter, tech builds would be rendered absolutely useless. Calling that the Hunters are mercenaries, either former Rogue Agents, or Russian SHD-Equivalents that are for hire by the BTSU.
So what happens now? Black Tusk is getting weaker and weaker but there is 1 BTSU operator left, thats not including the operators they will probably add on as the story continues. Jack Bonney has so far been described as a dumbass by the other BTSU operators including Schafer. But does this mean Bonney leads the BTSU when Faye Lau is killed. Or will they build another BTSU and put someone else in charge. Bonney has been described as being able to "Recodnize and analyze his adversaries' weaknesses and exploit them" and if thats the case it could mean he will be the next leader. But I find this hard to believe since everyone he works with considers him a jackass. But if he isnt leading the BTSU, Then who is. Maybe we'll find out what happened to the operators that went missing in the first game Edit: and the bigger question. If Bonney isn't leading the BTSU, what the hell happens to him

Loved this one. Big fan of your work man I love how you present these videos and your narrations. My go to source for my lore information. Your voice is the Morgan Freeman of RUclips.
This channel deserves more love.
I haven't played TD2 since 3 months after release but NGN lore videos are still a must watch ^^
Love these, keep them coming.
As I watch and listen to these videos, I am often reminded of the work and effort that has gone in, to making The Division 1 & 2. I know the game play has drawn some toxic conversations. Alas, I still like the story and game play...
Yes! This is what i waiting for. Time to enjoy it!
The Division story is addictive idk why it’s just so interesting in so many ways they’re just so many questions like who are the hunters or are the division in the right but to many questions without answers leads to severe consequences
Wraith was probably the most memorable non-primary target yet imo
based on season 3 comms it sounds like black tusk's employers are tired of their failures and decided to recruit rogue agents into black tusk and Bardon Schaeffer thinks that it's a bad idea
Yeeeeessss finally! been waiting for this one
after this season I'm starting to believe the hunters are mercs, speculating they are a private american military unit and Natalya is russian, since they do have that ranking tattoo and are working with The BT (black tusk) or maybe something other than the BT, since when she talks to Schaeffer she said "they wanted BT to colaborate with the government", which makes me think these are 2 groups working together, maybe the russian government is the one handling the BT or atleast something from there.
I actually quite like this theory.
Thank you for taking the time to explain it!
Sounds like Winter Soldier to me
Thanks for keeping the TD2 lore videos coming ❤
We must know who the hunters are I Love them they are probably the most badass characters in all of the division
Your on point there. 😇😇😇
Been waiting for this video. Great job!
I’ve been waiting for this video THANK YOU!! 💯 can’t wait for season 4
Awesome job this week video are top notch like always. Its a great treat when you make a new one
Thanks mate 😊
Appreciate seeing familiar names around!
With how good Natalia’s English was and lacking a thick accent, I think we’ll find that the Sokolova family helps fund the BTSU with their weapons company(ies) “Sokolov Concern” and possibly more
However I think this particular Hunter is an outlier, and doesn’t represent all hunters, I stick with the notion that they’re part of a Third Wave “cleanup crew” of some sorts
Fantastic work as always. Was excited to see more Division content.🙏
I love the way you discuss The Division. 👍❤️👍
Your summaries are so good Ubisoft should be paying you.
😆 Thanks mate. But to be fair, Ubisoft are pretty good to me. Their ANZ office are super nice people! 🙂
I'm glad I got Bardon but the Hunter is still out there in my game.
Finally its up season 3 story abt the manhunt !!!
nice video. still need to replay the manhunt mission for the remaining comms.
the taking Schaffaer prisoner part will probably be part of the next manhunt's story, or even Div3's.
if the leaks are true, and Faye is the next target, it will be an interesting manhunt, plot wise.
Hunters? Scary. Hunters that laugh at you as they tear you to shreds? Terrifying. Bardon's got some scary friends.
Man ur storytelling is awesome. Love ur work .
Thanks mate! 😊
@@NGN ❤️❤️, stay safe u and family.
I was eagerly awaiting your upload on the season 3 manhunt ever since I finished it and heard the name Sokolov lol!
Once again awesome video, please keep them going
Had to replay the part of Dusk as being mentioned a lot in the latest manhunt
I’m thinking Natalia is the woman talking to Ellis on the proposal to President.
Love the hunter at the end of that man hunt
I like these manhunt summaries. Though I don't do them cause skill not worth it for me. Other I do when I'm after loot.
Overall I think it fascinating and that it's the environment against a player. Or the fourth wall breaking.
Great video and lore
Why didn’t Schaffer just cut off wraith, she was only a logistics officer she didnt bring anything new or unique to the table and if she were to try to attack the btsu with the hyenas, they would get crushed so idk why Schaffer was using resources on her
It does seem strange. None of these Rouges or their groups seemed worth the effort. Maybe back in their prime, but now they're just the tattered remnants of depraved lunatics.
Dusk honestly just seems like a genuinely good person that just got tired of the governments bs. Same with Bardon. Wish they would’ve lived.
I’d smash Dusk
@@Aristocratic13 you don't smash dusk. Dusk smashes you
love ya work dude!
LOVE your support! ❤
@@NGN thanks dude! Wish for video about Scott J Mitchell from Ghost Recon series in the future
Honestly @NGN you should do a questionare for this season 3 manhuant not gonna lie love all your back ground story videos keep doing them and keep up the good work you always have me hook in everytime at the start
Been waiting for this
Damn my college day just got better
Honestly I think the hunters are contractors that black tusk hired to hunt down and kill the rouge agents during the man hunt. Hopfully in the next manhunt we see more hunters involved =]
i just love Belfry, asks the same thing twice, gets the same answer, fuck
Definitely my favourite manhunt
Im actually feeling better about the story, watching this videos. The devs seem to freely acknowledge how fundamentally broken an agency with this much power would be.
Sad I missed this season but I'm glad to be here for the last season
How you know it's final season?
@@VoidRemoma well I'm sure there will be more updates and bounties after we get you know who. But I'm just guessing honestly , as I play it now compared to the beginning I feel the time is coming to a close when it comes to the Division story. D3 will carry the lantern if you will
More bounties, updates, and most likely a season 5 to warm up to the new game..but what do I know, we haven't seen anything from Ubisoft about it..maybe around farcry6 time we'll know more
It would be a perfect time to release a division 3 honestly Ubisoft
@@TheGreyWolf93 Yeah I mean, the fact that they cancelled the event and replaced it with appearel event could both mean they are saving resources for div 3, but also that there's a global pandemic rn which is probably halting develoment of most games. I do agree with you that a div 3 is probably coming, but I don't think that this is the last season. Also yeah, the fact that they called this season the last watch is kind of suspicious..
I personally think we will get div 3 announcement somewhere in q3 or q4 of 2021
I remember doing the final mission on coney island with another agent and how *slowly* we moved through the haunted house section since we were terrified of being jumped by the hunter. There's something about knowing there's a hunter nearby that just puts the fear of God in me
Oh yeah been waiting for this
sweet just gat my snacks my drinks new video
time to forget the world and relax for 20 minutes
Love this game and info.
Hunters are either like Alpha Spetsnaz from Russia or former Delta units or Seal team 6 operators...
We definitely need you to make another "Speculation" video. Man Hunt Season 3 is starting to put the pieces together. It isnt a coincidence that Vitaly Tchernenko and Natalya Sokolova are both Russian. Its also obvious from Natalya Sokolova inner-action with Bardon Schaeffer that she and the people she works for is behind the Hunters. Im also thinking her or her people also are behind the Brand Set Sokolov Concern. This is all speculation, but I just have this funny feeling a lot of my speculation is right. As always great video NGN, please keep them coming.
But Natalya has a piss poor accent if she’s Russian
@@Aristocratic13 So you have to have a Russian Accent to be Russian?? With your thinking the Russian KGB Operatives would have never Infiltrated the CIA during the Cold War. Kind sir it wouldnt be hard for her to learn an American English Accent.
@@OGTKCole All I said is her accent is poor and if you follow Tom Clancy novels besides his game. He heavily use Russians in some type of way. And a lot of times they are written with that strong Russian accent. As for everything else you said.. I didn’t imply none of that
@@Aristocratic13 Im pretty sure Im a little older than you... I say that to say, I have read every Tom Clancy Novel in existence, and have even seen all the movies. Not trying to debate you here, but im trying to get you to see, maybe Shafer doesnt even know who she really is.
@@OGTKCole Get me To see what? I’m a 90s kid btw. Idk how age relates here?? Even a teenager now can cover all his books if he or she wants to.
Ay yo 69k congrats
I missed out on the season 1-3 glad I'm able to hunt down lau.
I think they managed to turn 1 hunter not all of them but this hunter got me asking more questions
I wonder, would a division agent be classified as rouge, if they just abandoned the division and settled down in one of the settlements
That's a good question
They would. IIRC, there's a com item between 2 Agents that tells the story about one Agent abandoning his mission to go home to his place, make sure his folks are safe, but that would risk his Wristwatch turning red.
If I remembered Correctly.
@@Resiloreid sucks for agents but makes logical sense, we all know what a rouge can do
enjoy the lore videos, TY
Wraith is the one creepy person who sounds like a kid, but won’t blink when comes to hurting or killing. Sucks to be those working with her though...
I dont know but somehow roots of hunters are connected to n since vietnam war
Sokolova is likely tied to Sokolov Concern, the gear manufacturer.
Maybe we'll find out what happened to the operators that went missing in the first game
Edit: and the bigger question. If Bonney isn't leading the BTSU, what the hell happens to him
