  • Clifford Olson Jr. was never taught consequences when he was young. He learned that he could just take whatever he wanted. When he became an adult, what he wanted was sex from children.

Most don't even realize that being rejected, treated whatever odd way, ignored, seen as ?!?!?! and or ghosted (and whatever other term is typical used now) is a plus! Matter fact being able to see through what most believe that they're hiding about themselves will eliminate having to experience such oddness. Instead most will want to know why, go out of their way to be nicer to them only to become insecure because they have no idea what good connections look or feel like.

There is a whole group of marginalised peoples that are preyed on by serial killers because police and society cares a lot less about them, usually referred to as the ‘less dead’. They include migrants, people from ethnic minorities, the poor, sex workers and members of the LGBT community. Sad thing is, really hasn’t changed much. The taboo about child abuse has come down a bit and amber alerts have been introduced but there are still cases where effect responses are delayed.

I grew up in the lower mainland during the Olson Era. I was about 13 yrs. My brother went to school with Simon Partington. We were not allowed to go anywhere without a parent or adult for a long time, even after he was caught. Two things that really stand out, we went shopping with my mum and I had gotten ahead of her. I turn the corner and she had a full on panic attack because she couldn't see me anymore. Full on screaming and crying panic like I had never seen before. Then when they caught him, we were watching the news and dad went pale and said "Holy Fuck! That's Creepy Cliffy!" (first time I heard him say the F word!) Dad had gone to school with him. He said he was a weirdo from the start and it didn't really surprise him. I also worked with someone who would babysit for him sometimes. She said he was kinda creepy, but seemed ok enough. Scratch the surface of any Olson Era kid, you'll find a Creepy Cliffy story, either something about him or the state of fear he had us in. It was a joyous day when that bastard finally died. I hope whatever cancer was eating him was rabid, drawn out, and painful.

This is the most thoroughly researched information ever on that beast. I applaud you.
Our sources for news at the time were the Vancouver Sun and various local TV stations. Their pieces were horrifying but never close to revealing so much of his sordid criminal history.
I always felt that if the police had followed leads they would have found out more on their own.
How he was given such slack sentences and so much opportunity to feed his hunger again and again is beyond comprehension.
I also fault the justice system here.
The topper was giving that monster 100 grand for his little wifey and bastard monster makes me angry to this day.
It's not just the environment that makes a sicko. You can't only blame his uncle. It was genetic. His criminal brain took advantage of every person and situation he crossed paths with. He was a slick psycho whose sick desires made him have to be an expert at conning people and catching innocent children on his line.
I wonder what his offspring are doing now and if they have a criminal history too. Or if he has grandchildren that show psychopathy. His flawed genes are still out there. Beware the cunning with their flowery talk.

My mom was almost a victim of his, she was a young girl rollerblading in her street in Coquitlam when she saw a man in a car slowly following her then she booked it back to her house and he was turning around to come back but she got away. A couple months later she saw his picture on the TV and told her mom (my gma) that, that was the guy who was following her. She got lucky, I wouldn't be here today if she was caught.

Very good mothers of the type who never teach, never grant boundaries, always console the child and the world is wrong, the teacher is wrong, he can do whatever he wants. This mothers normally treat them as their Prince, the man they never had, lonely woman without a husband or absent husband at home so they use the child emotionally as an adult, as if they know how they feel because they're empty. This type of abandonment where the child is form to do whatever he wants is that creates (with abuse) many crimes, not all.

In my opinion these Monsters never seem to get enough time in prison for their heinous crimes. May their families and friends find peace. I lost my best friend in middle school due to a severe asthma attack and it effected me greatly I couldn't imagine losing her this way. I named one of my daughters after her.

These poor innocent kids, just living life being kids, I won't let my grand babies play out in our un-fenced front yard without an adult there, never let the kids walk to school unless in a group, and drove my eldest granddaughter to school and home everyday, I thank shows like this for putting the fear of phycopaths in me, this is by far the most well researched show, people keep your children close.

I'd like to say you do a great job editing your videos. It's pretty cool to see pictures of places from the actual time periods of the events you talk about.
Also, I just want to mention that it's pretty sickening to realize how incompetent the justice system can be sometimes. It truly is disgusting to know that the ones who are paid and expected to protect you are practically doing nothing when so many children are going missing, and even after some of them are found to have been raped and murdered. And a 25 year sentence WITH the possibility of parole is sickening. I know we're not the only country to have these fucked up sentencing laws, and there are some with even more lenient laws, but I truly believe that some people should be locked up for good. Nothing will change them and no amount of good behavior should allow us to take that chance.

This monster was, is notorious for what he’s done.
I’ve always thought that Canada had far too lenient sentencing laws.
But, just because he would of been *eligible for parole after 25 years, does not mean he, or others like him, would ever, ever be allowed free again. It just wouldn’t happen.
But I completely hear what you’re saying.

In 1980-81, living in Metro-Vancouver (Surrey) I remember like it was yesterday my parents telling me to never go into a park at the end of the street alone, because there was a man in there that might want to harm me (there was a young boy's body found in the park). It was my first experience being told about evil people. At 5 years old I couldn't fathom why a man would want to hurt me, but I knew to never go into that park alone.
But with my 4 year old brother?? Allll good. Those were the days; you just weren't allowed to venture alone. We were left with so much more autonomy than today's kids. The name "Clifford Olson" is forever etched into my brain as fear, evil, unhumaine actions. I never knew until watching this Monsters video tonight (10-Sept-2022) exactly just how terribly selfish, sadistic and evil he was.

This ordeal was sickening and disturbing at the time and is even more so recounting the story. Great storytelling, as always, but this guy was beyond disturbing and it went on and on with the police rewarding him with each new body he came up with. Olson said he had to look after his son, yeah know!!! On the news it was reported Olson was paid the reward for 8 bodies, they decided not to pay him the reward for the last 2 children. It is truly revolting and my stomach churns with each turn this story takes, we all had children out there who did not think this was a real thing, who steals children?
