      Yeah, the reason for that is that 1. he doesn't come out often anymore, and 2. he's not using Joker most of the time. And MKLeo doesn't play lame. It's all skill. It's all strategy. It's all him. He is him. And I'm gonna have to say it, the only person that could've rivaled him was ZeRo if he hadn't retired from competitive. Zackray was another, but dude's limited by his own region. If he lived in the hottest smash area in US, he'd have more of a chance.

      no, i was wrong. i and a lot of people were so wrong lol. leo seems genuinely a bit pissed in the interview at the end, and honestly, i kinda get it: hes already proven himself to be the goat time and again, and yet the moment he dropped a few unfortunate sets and got placements that were STILL quite good even for top 10 players' standards, people start calling him washed. so, he went out to collect skulls and prove himself again, and he did it. at this point, the only time i would ever start genuinely doubting his success in the future would be if he tryhards joker and flubs top 8 multiple times.

And Gluto ONLY started winning against leo this year. rarely happened before that. Gluto isn’t performing well lately so he needs to do better if he wants to have a chance to play leo. Light isn’t close to Leo. He hasn’t won a major this season, (glitch was a National), and Leo has won 6 majors this season. The season started after Battle of BC 4. Leo also has a winning set record against Light. Even moreso, Leo beat Light the last two times they played. Light is the one who is really overhyped.
      Proto, however, is true. Proto, in my opinion, is the only real threat to Leo, but it’s a threat to LEO, not a threat to Leo’s throne. Proto is not performing well in Japan, and is only performing in NA. Proto also is only 3-2 over leo in sets, so it’s not like a crazy margin. Plus: Proto hasn’t played Leo’s joker who he has dedicated to minmins. The fact that Proto, who isn’t top 3 in the world, is the only real threat to Leo in brackets is insane and shows why Leo is #1. And also, that’s only when proto can make it to Leo, since he’s inconsistent.

      Byleth is a particularly good mu against steve though, what people consider his biggest weakness (his movement speed) isn’t really an issue against steve bc he’s also not very fast, but byleth’s strengths such as his disjoints for breaking blocks and stuffing out minecart and simply outranging steve in general are very big advantages specific to byleth. Leo was also playing incredibly well so I really don’t think this speaks much at all about whether steve should be banned, bannable characters lose sets in every game they’ve existed in.

    "People really thought I wasn't the best player in the world..." -- MKLeo. Oct 23, 2022.
    The best SSBU players do not cry about hard MUs, they overcome them. They don't accept insults from doubters, they debunk them. They don't rage whenever they lose, they say "good game" with a smile and head back to the lab again. MKLeo is a prime example of what a top player should be like. He's such an inspiration to those who want to be good at Ultimate. He, like many, lost to a top Steve player. However, he didn't run to Twitter to say "#BANSTEVEPLEASE", for Byleth did say, "Each battle is a chance to grow." Leo took that quote and ran with it. He practiced against top Steve mains and other top players. He marched into this Invitational, put Byleth on the forefront of the battlefield, as Byleth said "Allow me to demonstrate." Leo not only dominated this tournament, he 3-0'd the best Steve in the world, TWICE, with "NO HESITATION!" as Byleth would describe him. If anyone had any doubts of who the best player was, I hope those doubts faded. MKLeo has the best mindset, the most skill, and he wins big without using a top tier. Byleth and Leo are SO GOOD, together, and that's undeniable. As much as I love good competition, MKLeo being the best SSBU player in the world makes me incredibly happy. This whole tournament gave many players something to believe in... it's breathtaking.
    Well done, king... well done.

    Leo 3-0ing arguably the best steve in the word, TWICE, definitely puts the "ban steve" argument to question.

    What many may not know is that Leo probably got an extra boost since Seulgi debuted her solo album recently. I have no proofs but no doubts either.

    This tournament basically says that ESAM, Onin, Gluto, Tweek etc. didn't beat Leo, Leo just didn't want to win. This man is unstoppable with determination.

      ESAM and Gluto (Summit 4 & Pound) beat Leo fair & square. Vs Onin he just played the MU horribly. Leo did throw vs tweek tho.

    is there a way to watch a tourney on youtube without spoiling the ending? maybe a playlist we can just watch in order?

    • @OneCSeven
      @OneCSeven Год назад +1

      Organizers are not incentivized to do this because they’d prefer you watch live. Best you can do is wait for tourneys to be over and then go right to the VGBootcamp profile and click the playlist for the tourney and watch chronologically

    Say what you will, Ultimates meta is way healthier than Smash 4. I love it and am glad how this invitational turned out. Congrats to Acola’s incredible run and MK Leo’s performance.

    Surprised nobody is saying this but acola's career looks promising af. Not many young prodigies get to take 2nd in the most stacked tournament a couple years into competitive smash (in terms of training nerves at a Grand FInals which not many will ever do). Now that he's tasted it, he can only rise from here
