Always loved the energy and sound of Dave from the beginning. Through time and exposure it became absolutely clear what a well rounded person he is and what a tremendous intelligence, attitude and philosophy of how to approach life David has at the core of his being. This man's life long involvement in art and adventure I find admirable and though it is easy for the shallow to never get past the "over-the-topness" (is topness a word?) it is obvious that Dave has done a tremendous job of balancing both "the extreme" and "his ability to remain grounded" at the same time. I don't worship Dave. I respect the man as well as the artist/performer/entertainer. Thankfully, we finally got our Van Halen back with "Different Kind of Truth"!

I'm a big (huge) Van Halen fan and I with Dave their studio albums are way better than the Sammy era albums, IMHO. However I like Sammy as a live front-man better than Dave. I don't know how many times I've heard "I forgot the fucking lyrics!" from Dave but I never heard it from Sammy. That being said, I like this Dave and I agree...he does need his own show. He's a much better entertainer in this venue then on a stage. Showtime or HBO should jump all over this.
