Met him in '94 in NYC walking home from my job on 47th St. A hot blonde on one arm and brunette on the other, chatted at a crosswalk for a few minutes. He was cool af.
Another amazing journey through the mind and incredible imagination of DLR. I find myself chuckling the whole way through these adventures and thinking, yea...I have thought of the same things but could in no way put it in these words. What a fun guy to hang out with even if just on video for 22 minutes and 54 seconds.

dave's mind operates at a wnole different level than van halen & co. i happen to find him immensely entertaining and preternaturally interesting... can you imagine alex and eddie kicking back watching the roth show for more than 2 microseconds? no way. two middle class stooges in the heartland of the valley in southern california... but, together, they rocked. there is no van halen without dave. i wish the bros could understand that.

Here's a little brainstorm....New Van Halen album, Van Halen documentary, Van Halen 1984 live blu-ray (behind the scenes stuff, like we saw at the end of this video), Van Halen recent live blu-ray, Van Halen classic blu-ray, live album, Van Halen boxset of clips from 1978-1984 (also has to be in blu-ray haha), something to do with Michael Anthony? Unreleased album from 2000?....did I guess any right? A 1984 blu-ray would be FREAKING KILLER though!

The Mighty Van Halen
It just like sums up the definitive Van Halen. VH at their best (even though I'm only 18, but I've seen and heard plenty of bootlegs and pics from that era...another reason to release a blu-ray for folks like me who never got to experience it!...plus living in Perth I've never seen them recently either) This monstrous, awesome, 80s badass looking stage. My favourite AVH drum set ever, awesome clothes, awesome set, songs are played at blistering speeds (which some see as bad, I see as super energetic), I could say plenty more but yeah it's just an awesome era haha...I forgot to say The 1980 invasion tour documentary that was never released!

As much as I wish this would happen, I higly doubt that they would release anything with Michael Antony. The brothers are against it. It's more likely that they will release a concert footage from their most recent tour.

I watch this video and just think to myself...he converses like I think...and it's ironic because in 1978 I wanted to be just like him. Of course now 38 years later...knowing he's in his early 60's he really has a creative imagination. Most people won't understand the dynamics of the path of his logical thought, but I get it because my mind works the same way. The greatest thing is my life turned out much different than his, but I still admire his outlook on life. That's ok Dave, most won't understand your pattern of thought but it's natural to me. God bless...
yep..im 44 and admired him since i was 13...i get him now and i got him when i was 13...totally same wave length....you have to be quick thinking without thinking about it.....i catch every obscure reference he makes and i get and catch his pattern of delivery...and i "get" all the between the lines jokes...i never ever had to sit and think about what he just said..i get in INSTANTLY.
He is the cool uncle i always wanted!
