Pharos has to be one of my favourites. You've fleshed him out so well blud. The development of his character has been one of the most painful yet intriguing things I've ever listened to. And like always with Pharos I'm left in tears. You love being evil dont you blud.
Him: "pack a few of your belongings....rather hastily..." Me: "Let me guess, you threatened the chef again and it backfired?" That's literally what I thought of when he said those lines, idk why
I'm so torn omg. On the one side I want to be strong. Say no. "I have to stay. These are my people! I need to help them. Go. I won't send anyone after you. If I have to I'll say you're dead. But I cannot come with you. I am the only one they have left. Please understand." And on the other side I wanna be like "Yes! I've always felt something for you. I will go with you and start anew." But honestly, the first version is just so much more dramatic and fits the character I had in mind better. SO ARE Y'ALL READY FOR A BADASS EMPRESS OF PEACE AND MAGIC? CAUSE I AM! On another note, since it appears the Arrogant Prince/Mad Emperor series is over now, this was amazing. The first video of this series was the first I saw from you Hollow and I fell in love with it instantly, binged through all of it and all your other videos on this world. I loved the plot twist and all the lore and all the facets of his character. Can't wait to see what you'll treat us with next!
Epilogue: She looked back and forth from Pharos’ outstretched hand to the open door leading to the rest of the castle. Finally she closed her eyes, pained, before opening them again to reveal pure fire behind them. “Enough of this,” she growled, grabbing the Emperor’s hand and dragging him behind her through the castle. She hardly noticed his protests, and all of his attempts to escape barely registered through her adrenaline barrier. She did not let go of her vice grip on his hand until she burst through the front doors, coming face-to-face with the revolution. Once again, she yelled “Enough of this!” as lightning flashed in the sky. Quickly muttering under her breath, she conjured another bolt of lightning and brought it down between the castle entrance and the rabble. This act left everyone in shock, including Pharos. The alleged Empress-to-be was a mage? “We are going to put this to rest, right at this moment,” she declared, looking across the sea of faces of her would-be countrymen. “I may not be your leader in any official capacity, but I will not stand for this any longer, from ANY of you,” she said this last bit as she turned to look at Pharos. “Your Emperor was deceived,” she explained; still loudly, still powerfully. “He did wrong by you all, and there is no excusing that, but there is an explanation, and where there is an explanation there is an opportunity for redemption.” She began to walk in amongst the people with their pitchforks, torches and swords, and wherever she walked, people miraculously lowered their weapons. “He listened to all the wrong people, took all the wrong advice. I dare say you’ve already made quick work of those to whom he listened. But now, if given the chance to listen to you - to all of you, directly - I believe he will make a good Emperor.” She was now standing in the very midst of the rebellion, and the entire company had already laid down their arms. “I was once leader to some of you. You know you can trust me. If you won’t trust him, then trust me. He will have me to guide him, as well as you to guide him. Now then,” she began marching back to the front of the company. “Are there any among you who are literate?” When several people identified themselves, she continued; “Good. You will all help me restore the arcane knowledge destroyed in the passion of grief. I promise you I will do my part right alongside all of you to put things right again. In the meantime, what other issues need addressing?” Pharos watched in complete awe. She was a mage, she had rained lightning from the sky and yet nobody was dead. She was immediately involved with her subjects, not allowing any meddling nobility to interject themselves as middlemen. She wasn’t just ruling; she was leading. And what’s more... she was protecting him. He thought there had been only two options; escape together, or leave each other behind. She had found a third way, one that solved all the problems facing them. When the rabble dispersed and she at last walked back through the castle doors, he found himself unable to move, but merely to stare at her. Noticing this, she turned to face him, crossing her arms. “Well?” she said. “What are you waiting for? Get a shift on. Are you ready for a second chance both at leading your people and at our eventual marriage, or aren’t you?” With that, she kept her stern expression and continued to march down the hall. . . . In case anyone was curious, I have a story idea based on this; I have my doubts about ever being able to publish it, but if I do you can be sure that I’ll dedicate it to you, dearest creator.
Okay, justice is sweet as heck, but this emperor boi has been through so much and there are massive amounts of sympathy for him in my heart. The raw ~emotion~ in his voice is just so good!!!! I’m not the best at remembering to comment, but all of your work on this channel is stunning, so keep up the amazing work!!!!
To be honest, he was young, untrained, mourning and manipulated. Yeah, he did wrong, HELLA wrong, but someone else had been clearly pulling his strings to act that way. There's no guarantee Listener could sway a bloodthirsty mob, and they might just as easily turn on her as well for trying to defend this guy. Most arrogant people in this position would have had a paranoid mental breakdown as everyone he has ever trusted and the life he has known is crumbling around him. Instead he IS admitting he had fucked up, and fucked up Royally. Sometimes, the best move is to retreat so you can live to take responsibility another day. Knowing when to do so is a sign of a good leader.
Yo... how’d I get 200 likes? Real quick, tho: this is the series that got me hooked on to his ASMRs. The character development, the voicing... the way Pharos was such a distinct individual. I have never been so thankful for accepting ASMR into my life.

I may be one of many to say this, but I really like how you left an open ending so that the listener can choose for themselves. Your audios have such good worldbuilding, humour and feelings. You treat your listeners with such respect, I don't see many of this in others' asmrs. Please, keep your good work, knowing that you bring real joy to so many!
This was simply sublime! The raw emotion, the fear in Pharos' voice made me shudder and filled me with a sense of foreboding. The knowledge that he is both the villain getting his comeuppance after harming so many innocent people and a victim whose grief was used against him made him such a dynamic and enjoyable character. If you decide to continue this storyline, perhaps you would consider doing two separate videos so we can choose for ourselves whether we would take his hand and flee or stay and help put things back together (hopefully with or without the choice to execute our beloved should he happen to get caught fleeing.)
i like how in the beginnning he still struggles to get the pet names out but by the end , where he stops thinking too much, they come out naturally and sound honest even though he sounds defeated too which broke my heart. Anyaway ,the video was exellent once more the variaty of emotions you manage to get across to us is unbelievable.

I love how much you can hear the panic in his voice right from the start. It set the tone so well. Five seconds in and I could easily tell something was wrong. Amazing work as always. Going to miss him.

Probably one of my absolute favorite audio series of all time. It's so hard to make a choice like the one at the end of the audio. On one hand, Pharos needs someone to be with him, otherwise, he's just as dead as he would be if he stayed. He's going mad, if he hasn't already, and he needs someone to keep him grounded. On the other, the kingdom needs someone they can unite under. If you decide to stay, you're guaranteed a safe life (unless you fuck up and get manipulated as well). It all comes down to whether you want a life for personal gain or a life for the general public. For me, I think I'd chose the first option. I've genuinely fallen in love with Pharos as a character.
I loved this story so much, I often come back to it because of how well written it is, the quality of the voice acting and how much my feelings changed towards the character over the course of it, Hollow this was amazing thank you so much for the hard work you put in.
I've been reading the comments and I am absolutely loving how everyone is saying what they would have done. It really goes to show how attached everyone (Including me) is to Pharos and how well written he and his story are.

Oh my goodness that cliffhanger pulled at my strings I actually squealed a no while suffocating my plush in a tight hug. It's so good! I can just picture his movements and the shifting of his feet. Just fantastic.
The incessant knock on my door disturbed my daily meditation. I have been asking the goddess Veahna to give me wisdom in helping my would be husband in dealing with the impending storm that's brewing. My handmaiden greeted him but as soon as he spoke, I shivered. His anxiety is palpable I could almost touch it. War is upon us. Angrily, I riled at him for taking our kingdom. "You deserve this! Your father's greed for power has earned your kingdom retribution from the gods!" I bit out in frustration and fear. Fear for my people's safety, for his own people's safety. They have been nothing but kind to me since I was brought here. If anything, they shouldn't be in the middle of this catastrophe. At my words, he stopped and looked as if I slapped him. He looked so forlorn as when he apologized for his mistakes I heard a hint of sadness and was that longing? Taking a deep breath I tried to calm myself down as I felt desperation coming off of Pharos in waves . I remember what my mother said: " Know that a man sometimes may not see his enemy reflected in the mirror, as queen your duty is to be a light so he can." I looked out the window at the vast land... What do I do? Run? Where? Why should I pay for his mistakes?... Why should he? He's been manipulated by the nobles too. Yes, he's supposed to be my enemy but something told me this story could have a different ending. If I wanted it to. Squaring my shoulders I asked my maid to open the heavy wooden chest with ornate patterns and to take out my red and gold trimmed gown the best one she managed to pack on short notice. He looked hopeful thinking that I finally decided to go with him and flee but this princess is tired of running. Running usually made things worse. I steeled myself against the panic in his voice as he implored me to hurry and take my belongings. My heart thumped so hard it's a wonder I didn't faint. I can do this. We can survive this. I kept thinking and telling myself. ."Allow us a few minutes." I told him as I shut to door to the en suite. He looked bewildered but nodded. Amaya my trustworthy handmaiden made a difficult task lighter.But, when she tightened the ribbons on me I felt as if a noose was being wound on my neck that I asked her to cease for a moment. I felt like I was going to be ill. I breathed in and out all the while thinking if I have lost my mind. Can I really bring myself to stay with Pharos? Someone as arrogant as him? Someone who treats peasants like dirt? I looked at my reflection and at Amaya. She nodded in sympathy. "Princess, he's not all that bad. You may not know but after you told him during dinner that you wished for the peasants to be included as wedding guests, he asked the scribes to write an invitation for each one of them. He also asked me about your favorite meals so he can have the royal cook prepare it. He asked how you were doing when you didn't want to speak with him after that huge spat you had about his father's and brothers deaths. He's also shown interest in our kingdom's culture and asked me for books he can read on the matter." Surprised I was to say the least at this revelation. Smiling a bit I hugged my maid and thanked her for being steadfast. Stepping out his anxious face greeted me as I slowly sat beside him. "I will not run." I declared. Sighing, he looked defeated. "So will you." I continued in a determined voice. " We will not run. I will speak to my people about your kindness to me. We will deal with the nobles. You are an emperor. It's time you start acting like one." With that, he stared further at me like I'd grown antlers. Standing up I headed for the door but stopped. Turning around and smiling I told him: "Yes, I will take your hand, Pharos...I take your hand not as an arrogant prince or a mad emperor but because I hope for all the good you could possibly be. I take your hand with hope that your wisdom will be far greater than your arrogance; with the hope that in time you will be a strong, benevolent leader; that we can one day make our kingdoms a prosperous and peaceful land for everyone-not just those vipers who seek to destroy. I give you my hand with the hope that you will be my friend, my confidante, and maybe one day my loving husband. I give you my hand in hopes that underneath that usually snooty facade is a tenderhearted man; one with honor and one I can share many laughs with. I give you my hand and my promise. And yes, this isn't just a pipe dream after all."
If you'll allow me... I stare at his hand for a couple seconds, slowly moving my hand to hover just an inch above his. "In fact..." A grin starts forming on my face, as flames appear on the palm of my hand, which I hold up beside my head. "I don't think I'll follow you, my dear" I say in a low tone, looking straight into his eyes. Pharos' face lose all color with the realization of what's going on. "Who do you think gave my people the idea of killing the Emperor?" "What- what are you saying?" He sutters in disbelief. The only person he thought to be innocent turned out to be the one behind all this mess? "Your father commanded the raid on my kingdom. He was the one who ordered the bloodshed of my people. We were all living in peace, minding our own business, when your psychopath father started killing my citizens" I raise my voice, putting out the flames on my hand and slowly walking torwards Pharos, who starts walking backwards. "My own coven, my brothers and sisters were massacred in cold blood, leaving barely three of them alive. THREE. And you think I'm just going to marry you? And live happily ever after?" Pharos hits the wall behind him, and I push him against it with the magic flowing from my hands. A soft purple glow envelops him whole, slowly getting more and more tight around him. "H-how could you do that?" He dares to ask, still talking as an Emperor despite the position he finds himself in. "HOW COULD _YOUR FATHER_ MURDER _MY_ PEOPLE?" The magical grip around him tightens, making him struggle to breathe. "He paid for his actions..." My voice gets lower again, doing my best to keep myself calm. "And you will pay for yours. Hundreds of years worth of magical knowledge wiped in only a couple days because of you. Dozens of mages across the land murdered in cold blood because of you" The grip gets tighter for a second before I let go, making Pharos start coughing and take a hand to his chest, regaining his breathing. "Go, run away with your gold and jewels like the coward you are" "What? You won't excecute me in front of everyone?" He sounds almost disappointed, as if he was expecting me to do so. "I'm not like your family, Pharos. I'm not like _you._ I'm giving you the opportunity to escape and never be seen again, so take it before I change my mind. And once you're gone, I will make myself ruler of this kingdom and retake my own. I will treat these people the way you and your family should have, with respect and dignity. I will make your kingdom a better place, and you will be remembered as the stupid child who couldn't rule for three days before an uprising happened" Pharos stands up straight, taking his bag of riches and bowing before me. "If that is the case, long live the emperor, may they reign for eternity" He says before walking out the door to never be seen by me again.

Honestly, he's not all that bad, he even compromised when he was planning to commit genocide, showing that what the listener thought mattered to him. If anything, I feel bad for him for getting his grief taken advantaged of, I know how that feels. Poor bb Pharos.

I _really_ wanna be all like "So how's that whole 'burn all mages and whoever doesn't agree with me' -thingy working out for you, dear? 😤", but the situation seems so dire that I just don't have the heart when I hear how panicked he is. 😂 I'd want to let him go alone and start anew, should the people listen to me I could cover up his tracks. He's not blameless, but I would want to see if he's willing to atone for his crimes and I'm sure the people's patience is past spent for that. And should the Mad Emperor become but a terrible memory to the people later down the line, I'd wish to reunite with him and see what he's made of his life in hiding. *sigh* But something tells me he couldn't make it all by himself, if he was so easily swayed by the nobility's words. 😩 Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa the stockholm syndrome got to me bad 🤣🤣🤣

I want to think the secretive meeting with the Mage to the preservation of those magical artifacts that the people used during their uprising. I also want to hold out hope that the Oni warrior who said his final goodbye could be one of the few that were taken captive after the assassination of the king and his son. I love how much you can theorize in your stories.
This is the first asmr story I’ve gone through and it was oddly super good!! I normally don’t enjoy people talking in asmr, but this is set out in such a nice way! The story was really gripping and the voice acting is incredible!

There are so many videos taking place in this world that we’re gonna need either a collective playlist or a giant timeline to keep track of all The Who’s what’s where’s and when’s for everyone. Also Christ A+ voice acting. The nervous panicking was just, I could so easily imagine Pharos anxiously pacing the room and throwing random clothes into a bag just to get us moving.
Sssooo there is a rebellion and he made mistakes. Just because some people tried to manipulate him because of grief. I feel sorry for the king and he actually cared for leaving us to take care of the kingdom.
So I just binged this whole Mad Emperor story and, my goodness! First, this story is incredible! Like seriously, if you wrote a book about this, I'd read the heck out of it. Second, I love this character. Pharos's personality was not what I expected and I loved it. Third, that ending though! It makes me want to write my own continuation of what happened to them. I won't though, I'll leave that to you since it's your story. But dang, wonderful job, man! I can honestly say that Pharos is now on my list of favorite characters from you, next to Cypher, Aki, and Ramses. Wonderful job!

This has been such a fantastic story! I really like how you ended it with a cliffhanger, leaving the choice up to the listener, it somehow makes the story more immersive
I guess most forget that he kept you under light guard when first brought to him, tried to convince you to act in love for the portraits and reporters. Then when some folk in mage garb, wielding magicks, somehow in a throng of an army succeeded in killing the Emperor and heir apparent; he immediately blames you and places you under heavy guard while burning not just books but people. I'm a Taurus, bro. I have a long memory and your family has a long shit list.
the epilogue should be the mc becoming empress and creating a better empire empress wu of china style! then her chancellor should be new character! ahhh i want moreeeeee!!!

On the one side I want to be strong. Say no. "I have to stay. These are my people! I need to help them.
Go. I won't send anyone after you. If I have to I'll say you're dead. But I cannot come with you. I am the only one they have left. Please understand."
And on the other side I wanna be like "Yes! I've always felt something for you. I will go with you and start anew."
But honestly, the first version is just so much more dramatic and fits the character I had in mind better. SO ARE Y'ALL READY FOR A BADASS EMPRESS OF PEACE AND MAGIC? CAUSE I AM!
On another note, since it appears the Arrogant Prince/Mad Emperor series is over now, this was amazing. The first video of this series was the first I saw from you Hollow and I fell in love with it instantly, binged through all of it and all your other videos on this world. I loved the plot twist and all the lore and all the facets of his character.
Can't wait to see what you'll treat us with next!

Epilogue:
She looked back and forth from Pharos’ outstretched hand to the open door leading to the rest of the castle. Finally she closed her eyes, pained, before opening them again to reveal pure fire behind them.
“Enough of this,” she growled, grabbing the Emperor’s hand and dragging him behind her through the castle. She hardly noticed his protests, and all of his attempts to escape barely registered through her adrenaline barrier. She did not let go of her vice grip on his hand until she burst through the front doors, coming face-to-face with the revolution.
Once again, she yelled “Enough of this!” as lightning flashed in the sky. Quickly muttering under her breath, she conjured another bolt of lightning and brought it down between the castle entrance and the rabble. This act left everyone in shock, including Pharos. The alleged Empress-to-be was a mage?
“We are going to put this to rest, right at this moment,” she declared, looking across the sea of faces of her would-be countrymen. “I may not be your leader in any official capacity, but I will not stand for this any longer, from ANY of you,” she said this last bit as she turned to look at Pharos.
“Your Emperor was deceived,” she explained; still loudly, still powerfully. “He did wrong by you all, and there is no excusing that, but there is an explanation, and where there is an explanation there is an opportunity for redemption.”
She began to walk in amongst the people with their pitchforks, torches and swords, and wherever she walked, people miraculously lowered their weapons. “He listened to all the wrong people, took all the wrong advice. I dare say you’ve already made quick work of those to whom he listened. But now, if given the chance to listen to you - to all of you, directly - I believe he will make a good Emperor.”
She was now standing in the very midst of the rebellion, and the entire company had already laid down their arms. “I was once leader to some of you. You know you can trust me. If you won’t trust him, then trust me. He will have me to guide him, as well as you to guide him. Now then,” she began marching back to the front of the company. “Are there any among you who are literate?” When several people identified themselves, she continued; “Good. You will all help me restore the arcane knowledge destroyed in the passion of grief. I promise you I will do my part right alongside all of you to put things right again. In the meantime, what other issues need addressing?”
Pharos watched in complete awe. She was a mage, she had rained lightning from the sky and yet nobody was dead. She was immediately involved with her subjects, not allowing any meddling nobility to interject themselves as middlemen. She wasn’t just ruling; she was leading. And what’s more... she was protecting him. He thought there had been only two options; escape together, or leave each other behind. She had found a third way, one that solved all the problems facing them.
When the rabble dispersed and she at last walked back through the castle doors, he found himself unable to move, but merely to stare at her. Noticing this, she turned to face him, crossing her arms.
“Well?” she said. “What are you waiting for? Get a shift on. Are you ready for a second chance both at leading your people and at our eventual marriage, or aren’t you?” With that, she kept her stern expression and continued to march down the hall.

Okay, justice is sweet as heck, but this emperor boi has been through so much and there are massive amounts of sympathy for him in my heart. The raw ~emotion~ in his voice is just so good!!!! Yes if they trust Listener because of them being of the beloved Royal family, they might be able to convince them that the nobles are at fault...
To be honest, he was young, untrained, mourning and manipulated. Yeah, he did wrong, HELLA wrong, but someone else had been clearly pulling his strings to act that way. There's no guarantee Listener could sway a bloodthirsty mob, and they might just as easily turn on her as well for trying to defend this guy.
Most arrogant people in this position would have had a paranoid mental breakdown as everyone he has ever trusted and the life he has known is crumbling around him. Instead he IS admitting he had fucked up, and fucked up Royally.
Sometimes, the best move is to retreat so you can live to take responsibility another day. Knowing when to do so is a sign of a good leader.

Real quick, tho: this is the series that got me hooked on to his ASMRs. The character development, the voicing... the way Pharos was such a distinct individual. I have never been so thankful for accepting ASMR into my life.

This was simply sublime! The raw emotion, the fear in Pharos' voice made me shudder and filled me with a sense of foreboding. The knowledge that he is both the villain getting his comeuppance after harming so many innocent people and a victim whose grief was used against him made him such a dynamic and enjoyable character. If you decide to continue this storyline, perhaps you would consider doing two separate videos so we can choose for ourselves whether we would take his hand and flee or stay and help put things back together (hopefully with or without the choice to execute our beloved should he happen to get caught fleeing.)

i like how in the beginnning he still struggles to get the pet names out but by the end , where he stops thinking too much, they come out naturally and sound honest even though he sounds defeated too which broke my heart. Anyaway ,the video was exellent once more the variaty of emotions you manage to get across to us is unbelievable.

Probably one of my absolute favorite audio series of all time. It's so hard to make a choice like the one at the end of the audio. On one hand, Pharos needs someone to be with him, otherwise, he's just as dead as he would be if he stayed. He's going mad, if he hasn't already, and he needs someone to keep him grounded. On the other, the kingdom needs someone they can unite under. If you decide to stay, you're guaranteed a safe life (unless you fuck up and get manipulated as well).
It all comes down to whether you want a life for personal gain or a life for the general public. For me, I think I'd chose the first option. I've genuinely fallen in love with Pharos as a character.
When you don't want the story to end because it's so well written, but because the writing's so good you just have to see how it ends...
I loved this story so much, I often come back to it because of how well written it is, the quality of the voice acting and how much my feelings changed towards the character over the course of it, Hollow this was amazing thank you so much for the hard work you put in.

The incessant knock on my door disturbed my daily meditation. I have been asking the goddess Veahna to give me wisdom in helping my would be husband in dealing with the impending storm that's brewing. My handmaiden greeted him but as soon as he spoke, I shivered. His anxiety is palpable I could almost touch it. War is upon us. Angrily, I riled at him for taking our kingdom.
"You deserve this! Your father's greed for power has earned your kingdom retribution from the gods!" I bit out in frustration and fear. Fear for my people's safety, for his own people's safety. They have been nothing but kind to me since I was brought here. If anything, they shouldn't be in the middle of this catastrophe. At my words, he stopped and looked as if I slapped him. He looked so forlorn as when he apologized for his mistakes I heard a hint of sadness and was that longing? Taking a deep breath I tried to calm myself down as I felt desperation coming off of Pharos in waves . I remember what my mother said: " Know that a man sometimes may not see his enemy reflected in the mirror, as queen your duty is to be a light so he can." I looked out the window at the vast land... What do I do? Run? Where? Why should I pay for his mistakes?...
Why should he? He's been manipulated by the nobles too. Yes, he's supposed to be my enemy but something told me this story could have a different ending. If I wanted it to.
Squaring my shoulders I asked my maid to open the heavy wooden chest with ornate patterns and to take out my red and gold trimmed gown the best one she managed to pack on short notice. He looked hopeful thinking that I finally decided to go with him and flee but this princess is tired of running. Running usually made things worse. I steeled myself against the panic in his voice as he implored me to hurry and take my belongings. My heart thumped so hard it's a wonder I didn't faint.
I can do this. We can survive this. I kept thinking and telling myself. ."Allow us a few minutes." I told him as I shut to door to the en suite. He looked bewildered but nodded. Amaya my trustworthy handmaiden made a difficult task lighter.But, when she tightened the ribbons on me I felt as if a noose was being wound on my neck that I asked her to cease for a moment. I felt like I was going to be ill. I breathed in and out all the while thinking if I have lost my mind.
Can I really bring myself to stay with Pharos? Someone as arrogant as him? Someone who treats peasants like dirt? I looked at my reflection and at Amaya. She nodded in sympathy.
"Princess, he's not all that bad. You may not know but after you told him during dinner that you wished for the peasants to be included as wedding guests, he asked the scribes to write an invitation for each one of them. He also asked me about your favorite meals so he can have the royal cook prepare it. He asked how you were doing when you didn't want to speak with him after that huge spat you had about his father's and brothers deaths. He's also shown interest in our kingdom's culture and asked me for books he can read on the matter." Surprised I was to say the least at this revelation. Smiling a bit I hugged my maid and thanked her for being steadfast. Stepping out
his anxious face greeted me as I slowly sat beside him.
"I will not run." I declared. Sighing, he looked defeated. "So will you." I continued in a determined voice. " We will not run. I will speak to my people about your kindness to me. We will deal with the nobles. You are an emperor. It's time you start acting like one." With that, he stared further at me like I'd grown antlers. Standing up I headed for the door but stopped.
Turning around and smiling I told him:
"Yes, I will take your hand, Pharos...I take your hand not as an arrogant prince or a mad emperor but because I hope for all the good you could possibly be. I take your hand with hope that your wisdom will be far greater than your arrogance; with the hope that in time you will be a strong, benevolent leader; that we can one day make our kingdoms a prosperous and peaceful land for everyone-not just those vipers who seek to destroy. I give you my hand with the hope that you will be my friend, my confidante, and maybe one day my loving husband. I give you my hand in hopes that underneath that usually snooty facade is a tenderhearted man; one with honor and one I can share many laughs with. I give you my hand and my promise. And yes, this isn't just a pipe dream after all."

I stare at his hand for a couple seconds, slowly moving my hand to hover just an inch above his. "In fact..." A grin starts forming on my face, as flames appear on the palm of my hand, which I hold up beside my head. "I don't think I'll follow you, my dear" I say in a low tone, looking straight into his eyes. Pharos' face lose all color with the realization of what's going on. "Who do you think gave my people the idea of killing the Emperor?"
"What- what are you saying?" He sutters in disbelief. The only person he thought to be innocent turned out to be the one behind all this mess?
"Your father commanded the raid on my kingdom. He was the one who ordered the bloodshed of my people. We were all living in peace, minding our own business, when your psychopath father started killing my citizens" I raise my voice, putting out the flames on my hand and slowly walking torwards Pharos, who starts walking backwards. "My own coven, my brothers and sisters were massacred in cold blood, leaving barely three of them alive. THREE. And you think I'm just going to marry you? And live happily ever after?"
Pharos hits the wall behind him, and I push him against it with the magic flowing from my hands. A soft purple glow envelops him whole, slowly getting more and more tight around him. "H-how could you do that?" He dares to ask, still talking as an Emperor despite the position he finds himself in.
"HOW COULD _YOUR FATHER_ MURDER _MY_ PEOPLE?" The magical grip around him tightens, making him struggle to breathe. "He paid for his actions..." My voice gets lower again, doing my best to keep myself calm. "And you will pay for yours. Hundreds of years worth of magical knowledge wiped in only a couple days because of you. Dozens of mages across the land murdered in cold blood because of you" The grip gets tighter for a second before I let go, making Pharos start coughing and take a hand to his chest, regaining his breathing. "Go, run away with your gold and jewels like the coward you are"
"What? You won't excecute me in front of everyone?" He sounds almost disappointed, as if he was expecting me to do so.
"I'm not like your family, Pharos. I'm not like _you._ I'm giving you the opportunity to escape and never be seen again, so take it before I change my mind. And once you're gone, I will make myself ruler of this kingdom and retake my own. I will treat these people the way you and your family should have, with respect and dignity. I will make your kingdom a better place, and you will be remembered as the stupid child who couldn't rule for three days before an uprising happened"
Pharos stands up straight, taking his bag of riches and bowing before me. "If that is the case, long live the emperor, may they reign for eternity" He says before walking out the door to never be seen by me again.
I swear hollow, if I ever need an idea for a book plot, i come and listen to your asmr's.

I _really_ wanna be all like "So how's that whole 'burn all mages and whoever doesn't agree with me' -thingy working out for you, dear? 😤", but the situation seems so dire that I just don't have the heart when I hear how panicked he is. 😂
I'd want to let him go alone and start anew, should the people listen to me I could cover up his tracks. He's not blameless, but I would want to see if he's willing to atone for his crimes and I'm sure the people's patience is past spent for that. And should the Mad Emperor become but a terrible memory to the people later down the line, I'd wish to reunite with him and see what he's made of his life in hiding. *sigh* But something tells me he couldn't make it all by himself, if he was so easily swayed by the nobility's words. 😩

As much as I had hoped for Pharos in the beginning when the moment came, I would always choose my people over him... but he truly is a marvelous character!!! I couldn’t take his hand even if I thought I wanted to...
I’d totally go with him cause why not? I don’t wanna rule a kingdom on my own or with help I don’t want that responsibility!
I want to think the secretive meeting with the Mage to the preservation of those magical artifacts that the people used during their uprising.
I also want to hold out hope that the Oni warrior who said his final goodbye could be one of the few that were taken captive after the assassination of the king and his son.

This is the first asmr story I’ve gone through and it was oddly super good!! I normally don’t enjoy people talking in asmr, but this is set out in such a nice way! The story was really gripping and the voice acting is incredible!

There are so many videos taking place in this world that we’re gonna need either a collective playlist or a giant timeline to keep track of all The Who’s what’s where’s and when’s for everyone.
Also Christ A+ voice acting. The nervous panicking was just, I could so easily imagine Pharos anxiously pacing the room and throwing random clothes into a bag just to get us moving.
Sssooo there is a rebellion and he made mistakes. Just because some people tried to manipulate him because of grief. I feel sorry for the king and he actually cared for leaving us to take care of the kingdom.

So I just binged this whole Mad Emperor story and, my goodness! First, this story is incredible! Like seriously, if you wrote a book about this, I'd read the heck out of it. Second, I love this character. Pharos's personality was not what I expected and I loved it. Third, that ending though! It makes me want to write my own continuation of what happened to them. I won't though, I'll leave that to you since it's your story. But dang, wonderful job, man! I can honestly say that Pharos is now on my list of favorite characters from you, next to Cypher, Aki, and Ramses. Wonderful job!
I've recently found your channel and I gotta say that you do an AWESOME work, I actually haven't heard the audio yet because I know I'm gonna cry. The character development Phaos goes through and the sympathy you end up having for him it's just. . I don't know I can't even describe it.

I really enjoyed this. I can feel the sandeness portrayed so well by your voice. The way you stuttered and begged made it feel so really. I hope this not the last we see of the former emperor because like all the other characters on here. I'm excited to see and hear more of this story.

This has been such a fantastic story! I really like how you ended it with a cliffhanger, leaving the choice up to the listener, it somehow makes the story more immersive

I guess most forget that he kept you under light guard when first brought to him, tried to convince you to act in love for the portraits and reporters. Then when some folk in mage garb, wielding magicks, somehow in a throng of an army succeeded in killing the Emperor and heir apparent; he immediately blames you and places you under heavy guard while burning not just books but people.
