I love the concept, but I think the sliding sinker is called a slide sinker for a reason. Why not just buy the appropriate sinkers for the style of fishing required. I will admit if I only had slip sinkers in my box I may use this trick one day, but I have yet to find reason to change my style of fishing with the right gear.
