This is an instructional tutorial 5-string bluegrass banjo lesson teaching my version of the popular bluegrass banjo tune, "Good Old Mountain Dew." This break works for both verse and chorus, since they are similar.
"Good Old Mountain Dew," sometimes called simply "Mountain Dew"... is an Appalachian folk song composed by Bascom Lamar Lunsford and Scotty Wiseman. There are two versions of the lyrics, a 1928 version written by Lunsford and a 1935 adaptation by Wiseman. Both versions of the song are about moonshine. The 1935 version has been widely covered and has entered into the folk tradition becoming a standard. (Wikipedia)
On this video I teach my version of the tune lick by lick, phrase by phrase, using on-screen tablature, then I put it together -- slowly at first, then faster toward the end, adding rhythm guitar audio overlay and on-screen chord prompts.
Free tab sheets (PDF) and play-along tracks (MP3) for this and many other tunes are available at my website, www.littlerockbanjo.com.
Hope you enjoy.

Is there anywhere I can get this as a full tab?
As a guitarist trying to learn banjo I keep wanting to tell that 5th string to get back down there on the bottom where it belongs!
Yeah my 5th string always says no when I tell it to move down
You’ll get used to it. I played guitar for years before I picked up a banjo an once you get your roll patterns an basic things down the left hand comes in by second nature.
