I will let Nemo watch conference so I don't have to! 😂
It was funny, I have to admit
God is Good brother, and these men and women are his Servants. Where you hear slow, harsh, incoherent ramblings of old men, I hear the voice of our Lord!
Amen, Brother, this is our Prophet speaking to us and telling us what we need to hear. He should be promoting listening to conference and not his little halftime show.
100% agree, and even though President Nelson is older than Biden, Nelson is actually mentally capable of leading and does his part even when he can"t be at conference physically.
I love and sustain our prophets and apostles, they are a blessing, and wish there were more people like them in the world
I heard they speak slowly on purpose to help the live translator have an easier job.
Aha!
No, we poke fun at those geriatrics and act like we know more than them! There can't be a logical reason for things!
Yet they read from teleprompters just like Joe Biden
Most people don’t want to sit through 9-1/2 hours of predominantly geriatric Utahns speaking unnaturally slowly 😂😂😂
Best quote I’ve heard
I came here to write the same comment
Except its online
How dare you. It is a privilege to listen to these men and women from ALL across the world inspired by God.
I've never had more satisfying naps than watching confrence.
Conference was great and packed with the spirit! So glad to be part of such a wonderful organization with such good leadership to look up to. As for the world’s influencers…We heeded them not!
I can't believe I used to sit through that crap
well now you don't have to!
@@NEMOTHEMORMON haha thank you Nemo. Love your channel!!
And how I believed every word that fell from those geriatric lips and my heart swelled! 😂
same
@@citizen3902 omg right
Can’t wait!!! Especially for Elder Kearon’s talk!!
‘We watch conference so you don’t have to’ … for me what I get often through listening to conference is real in-depth personal insights that often might not be the actual words but what the spirit will say.
I know that to me when I was questioning that this sort of comment would have gotten a big eye roll from me as I started to ‘lean on my own understanding’ and was definitely caught up in my pride and apathy with anything spiritual…. And totally couldn’t see this in myself!!
It took a monumental life event to start to take those steps which led me back to discovering what I had lost and what I had once held so dear, and that was a closeness to my saviour and redeemer and to a father who was the only person who was there for me in that darkness.
My lens shifted and so then did my understanding towards general conference and the spirit.
Many may read this with distain or even feeling some sorrow for me that I just don’t get it, or my eyes aren’t open, I know I would have felt like that too!
I hope some might read this and decide to try to listen with an open heart and mind and see the great good that is in these messages.
I agree that there are some good messages contained within general conference. I would hope that any religion would have some touching moments over a conference that is many hours long. People also experience the feelings you described by some TED talks for example. They are also found in followers of every other religion. However, there are also very harmful messages mixed in to General Conference. These harmful messages are especially dangerous when people are taught they are directly from God. General conference is an example of the philosophies of men mingled with scripture. Many of us commenting have done the painful work and found that the foundational LDS church truth claims are a fraud. That doesn't mean that God abandons members of the LDS church and doesn't give them any direction in their lives. I believe He is always reaching out to ALL of His children to meet us where we are and is patient with us as we learn throughout life. One good source that lays out the many lies of Joseph Smith is the LDS Discussions series found on the Mormon Stories channel. People that have learned the truth of the lies of the LDS church are not lazy learners and lax disciples. Quite the opposite.
@@derrickfolkmanman great comment - very much agree and went through that journey myself - it finally led me full circle as I came to realise that it came down to the lens that I was looking at it through and realised that that lens was a lens of hope - which did I hope for was true? A something or a nothing… I chose to hope in a something, then a christian something or a different something… I chose to hope for a something that offered grace and mercy, then an lds christian/christ something or a mainstream christian/christ-trinity something - I chose one that has a pre-existence something, a something which offers everyone a fair chance to accept or reject, a something where god is my father etc - this lens then helped to look very differently at the things that I had questioned and found answers to many but still have some -
I appreciate your comment as can sense that you are among the many who are genuine in their search for truth - that might lead you around like it did to and some others I know, but maybe not, I wish you the very best in your journeys through life.
@martinreidcharcoalhyperrea1197 I wish you the best on your journey as well. Maybe watch the LDS Discussions series if you haven't yet. Take care.
@@derrickfolkmanmanSorry for asking but where did this information come from? Is there any way to actually prove it to be true? I've done research myself and the sources might not be reliable. And even it was true, arent we supposed "know them by their fruits"? The LDS church contributes to a lot of good things such as humanitarian and the youth service projects. I dont think people should judge a religion based on a member in it. No one except Jesus is perfect.
@AreRi1450 Hello. I mentioned the LDS Discussions series. It's a website online and also in video form on the Mormon Stories youtube channel. They use reliable sources. Most of the sources are from the churches own records. There are many other good sources as well. Every religion that I know of does good in the community. They don't all have founders that committed pedophilia and was a serial cheater behind their wife's back. They also rob from the poor to build their fine sanctuaries.
Attitude is everything! Plus, how many have of us are "interpreters"? Have we done so for someone speaking fast as this host does?
I predict that Russell beats out Jesus and Joseph on the scoreboard in a landslide victory in his last GC. Think Celestial will be mentioned in at least a dozen talks.
If you believe the mormon leaders are Gods servants, you will likely enjoy conference.
Once you start to parse out who God actually is and what he values, conference is a lot harder to watch.
When I left the church I still made an attempt to watch conference to try and get whatever good was contained within the messages. But it was sad to find that most of the good messages are accompanied by subtle threats, guilt trips, or even immense praise that is fully intended to keep Mormons from thinking too far outside the box and to stay comfortably where they stand.
I'm sure there are still good messages, and people who are really looking will benefit in some ways. But conference is really not much different than a Mormon celebrity panel where the people you've been taught go admire get up and tell you things you want to hear, sprinkled with fun stories and false truths.
Although I understand your point of view, watching general conference actually makes me question more. After I think about it, it eventually leads to me feel better about the church without anyone pressuring me to stay.
I don’t know how you think that Conference is intended to keep us inside our box or too keep us from questioning, this conference I have enjoyed the most because I am trying to come closer to Christ, so I actually listened to most of this conference rather than taking a nap. I will pray that you come back to Christ because I know that he loves you, I love you and I hope you have a blessed day. 😁
Agreed general conference is great if you want to come closer to christ
I understand where you come from, and i respect your stance.
I personally think these talks are only threatening or false if you take them out of context which is something we need to be careful of, but yes God's words have multiple meanings and if one came to conference looking for something they don't like about it, they're going to find it.
Agreed if you take anything out of context it can sound weird that’s why people quote bible verses and say it’s pro this or that and then get destroyed when somebody reads the verse befor it
My thing is… if this is not who you are or what you believe in, why does it bother you so much? And if you were a member and left the church for reasons that dealt with other members or leaders then I can understand!! But why are you so fixated on creating content to something that doesn’t apply or effect you in away if you don’t follow or believe in the practice. It’s like me talking about how wrong soccer is and boring but never did play or I am not even affiliated to even make reasonable arguments. I guess it’s good content and stirs up controversy for views.
No true Scotsman phallacy. Try harder.
Sports channels do updates of the various soccer game highlights, for example..in case people can't watch several games themselves. Have not seen Nemo's synopsis of conference talks yet..but i am curious.
Geriatric Utahans speaking un-naturally slowly....
😂
Omg, I read your comment as Nemo spoke it!! Thank you 😅
Funny, I've been doing it since 1972 when I became old enough to understand some of what's going on.
52 years later I still watch all sessions plus church news plus news reports to see if anyone has anything good to say or if it's the same 126year old hatred.
My vacation times rotate around conference.😊
I do not have to watch conference, I get to! Let it roll!
Will Mr Burns be the featured speaker?
And he'll apologize for sitting down, but not for not shutting up! Lol
😂😂😂
😂😂😂☠️☠️☠️
🤣🤣🤣 iam glad iam not the only one who thought that
On the plus side, I used to some of my best sleep during conference. Just thinking about conference makes me want to yawn.
at least it is free
Go with the Holy Ghost as your guide and teacher; He will teach from the messages you hear. Make a list of questions you need answered; you’ll find the help you need for your own personal life. No one can listen for you; your needs are not the same as this guys or anyone else’s. Have faith and except the invitation to attend! You can always listen to the talks at your own speed and convenience. My family would listen to one talk a day. That worked for us!❤
I was TBM. I didn't watch all of it. I am pretty sure ai selected certain sessions and got summaries of the others.
But I love doing that in fact I think 10 hours would be better
I don't want to watch it but I'm just curious. On what channel is it broadcast? How would someone in the UK watch General Conference? Surely it's not on mainstream TV??
They say it will be streamed on RUclips, on General conference of the Church of Jesus Christ...
@@SilentThundersnow Thanks for that!
Does it concern anyone that this is being censored by RUclips? You cannot watch it unless you are 18 out of restricted mode.
Ramiumptum weekend.
It is not they way they speak, it is what they speak about. Repent and enjoy conference.
I agree, conference is amazing.
I never really paid attention to the talks, guess I wasn’t that into it and didn’t realize it til years later.
It is an opportunity to hear the guidance of Heavenly Father 2x a year. Worth 9 hours and slow speaking over fast speaking knuckleheads with nothing to say! Cheers!
My family members always seem to get a lot more bossy whenever Conference happens
How did the algorithm think I was searching for hate-filled narcissists?
We are spiritual beings. Feeding ourselves spiritually does good things for us.
You are right that's why I'll be enjoying a nice run and a hike in nature this weekend to feed my spiritual side. Much better than listening to a sprinkling of good comments amongst a ton of drivel and lies and divisive rhetoric. GC is an utter waste of 10 hours.
Yes feeding not lying. LDS spew "non-facts."
This general conference I will be watching movies instead. Normally I go on a hike but happens to be on call this weekend
2012 is a great movie
Poor Nemo so ignorant on all things LDS. What a wasted life criticizing someone religion. I just have a question for Nemo. Who are you looking at?
Looking at your sorry ass, jr high level put downs. Your still 12 the eternal age of adult mormons
I support women's lib
I will be there! When is it?
I got to say, after watching a lot of GC, I've never thought that our leaders talked to slowly.
General Conference is filled with amazing talks from the prophets and apostles of the Church that bring the Spirit into our lives, the Prophet's words have helped me and the members of my family and ward, I hope that everyone who watched conference enjoyed it, was uplifted, and maybe learned a thing or two about the Church or a question they had about it.
And please do not talk what they say out of context, or twist their words and weaponize them against us.
I wish you a good week, and may God be with you.
Look into the eyes of these Narcissists! Not Nemo !
Eternity is coming to get Rusty.
This is why Nemo is an exmo because he doesn't have the discipline or common sense to live the teachings. You don't have to listen to 9 hours of conference. You listen until you get tired of it and then we can listen anytime we want. It is called technology. And unlike Nemo, these men have something important to say.
You do know that watching this type of content exposes you to the adversary. As a servant of Satan I suggest you desist with such contentious messaging.
raymond be speaking truth tho
@@CelestialComrades Opinions aren't truth.
That’s what I’m saying, an opinion might be based in truth, but by itself it’s an OPINION, and when all you have to say about conference is a disingenuous comment, THATS NOT FACT, there is no need for Nemo to watch conference cause he doesn’t believe our teachings, and if you really need to know what the Prophet said, just go watch conference yourself
@@CelestialComrades
I do watch it, and I find no truth to any of what is being said. Never have.
They need to speak a bit slowly because their talks are being broadcast simultaneously in about 85 languages, live, for congregations and individuals around the world. Each language can take longer or shorter time to speak compared to English. They are used to speaking, pausing for language interpretation, then continuing because they travel around the world giving sermons. Listen to the message. Stop being critical of the mechanics of message interpretation for a worldwide church.
Who could want to miss Lord Palpatine of Vatican Lake City evangelisize for your MONEY 💰 💵 💰
Dang Nemo!
You are giving up right before everything is about to happen.
The Eclipse the day after conference is a hinge point.
You are so going to miss all the cool things we have been waiting for. The next 10 years are going to be epic.
RUclips will not be here forever, but the saints will prevail as john the Revelator has said in the Bible.
Don't miss it! Get right with the Lord. Dont get left behind.
Time is very short!!
You're crying wolf.
Do they see the eclipse in Great Britain ? I honestly don't know
Not in England, Sorry. The eclipse. It is not world wide. It has to do with the sin and the moon and the stars up above, each one has it’s cycle and the cycles occasionally shadow one another.
@@droundyCubby thanks. That's what I thought. That would be a funky moon if it caused an eclipse in England too.
Rlds aren't great with business. Should have gotten a B for it.
Nemo why are your eyes look like their crossed 😂😂😂?
😂😂😂😂
Love you, Nemo.
But characterizing the "unnaturally slow-speaking" as a geriatric frailty rather than as the intentionally pedantic attempt at hypnotic stupefaction it actually is
may be a bit unfair.
Almost as "unkind" as some of the accusations and low-down appellations sure to be spat at us like cherry tabbacci from over the pulpit in the longest possible syllabications.
But, thank you for your endurance and lightning-speed ripostes.
Looking forward ... 🌹
Boring. General conference is BORING.
It's a boring snooze fest.
Oh Judas.
I am so grateful to listen to those the Lord has called to lead.
I find you rude to our elder leaders.
I will be listening to them and ignoring your ignorance.
I pray that you will listen with an open heart and spread the good news.
It's your weekend
Enjoy your time listening to what will be 'human mistakes, not truth, never was,' in 20 years.
Everything you think was from God, they'll tell you you're being ridiculous for believing such things. Enjoy the lies, that even THEY will call lies and mistakes in 20 years.
Sooo
I will be listening with a closed mind. I remember when i anxiously awaited the 150th anniversary conference, fully believing all of the leaders were going to teach me the things the Lord had revealed to them. And i BUILT MY WHOLE LIFE ON THOSE TEACHINGS, as if they were from God. Silly me, I've been told now. 'They're only human!' or 'We never taught that.'
Cuz now, everything they said back then, has been 'disavowed' or minimized, and I'm told they were 'just human words, you don't expect a prophet to not make mistakes do you?! Huh?! Huh?!'😮
So all that stuff i built my life on, as if it was from God, has been changed, or disavowed cuz prophets can't be expected to not be influenced by their culture,' and they say it's not truth and never was.😮
Oh, and if you must know, they've hidden those teachings deep in a vault called 'Gospel Topics Essays' so they can say they didn't lie to you when the lawsuits start coming.
(Read the CES Letter if you want to know what happens if you start asking questions.) It's free online.
I'll never forget the day, when my prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley appeared on national TV, and when asked if God was once a man, a foundational doctrine that I had built my whole life on, he responded. Responded. 'We don't know much about that, I haven't heard much about that.'
So enjoy listening to things that in the not so far distant future, they will say they've never heard of that stuff.
It's quite earth-shaking when it happens to you. I hope you find your way out of the labyrinth of lies built by Joseph Smith and those that followed him, before it does.
@sdfotodude, yes, it's their WEAK END!" 😂
You will enjoy it.
