0:52 the way her eyes go from scared, to mad to pure dragon is both scary and cool
It was kinda creepy
There was no mad

I think they probably meant "determined", as she gathered her last will before transforming. That's what I assume, anyway.
I know that Zelda looks different than her variants counterparts. But this is the first time to see Zelda transform into a dragon.
Ew that looks kinda ugly but light dragon itself is ugly
11:39 What’s possibly even scarier about this moment is while Zelda was HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE at the shear power increase of eating a tear, ‘Dorf literally COULD maintain his human form and COMPREHEND how much of a power increase that gave him by his laughing before turning
Zelda’s sacrifice was so well portrayed and thought out, I don’t think I’ve ever had chills like I did seeing that cutscene for the first time!!
Zelda's sacrifice is beautiful and depressing at the same time.
And pointless considering you don't even need the Master Sword to beat Ganon....
@@skins4thewin you literally do need it to beat him, though.
@@omorifan6011 How so? It's my understanding that you don't. Can't you still harm his final form without it?
@@skins4thewin 4th phase, DragonDorf. You *could* damage him with normal weapons, but everything deals so little, it would literally be impossible.
@@omorifan6011 Fair nuff. It still makes you wonder why he didn't try using that same arm/sword destroying move he used at the beginning, only to be thwarted by the newly powered up sword. That would have made everything make more sense.
So basically the lore of the game is everybody gets a fursona but Link just wants to play Minecraft.

You have to admit Matt Mercer did a fantastic job as ganondorf atleast this version
Wait what?! Does Matt Mercer really voice act Ganondorf in the game?
…Cause that’d be awesome if he did.
@@riallebalfour4767 yes he does at least in this game he does

@@keroro407 Vecna Mercer! Very recognizable 😊

I love how people thought ganondorf would be a good guy in this when the whole point was that this man is just evil and just wants to rule everything. What we are seeing is basically in short you could say ocarina of time Ganondorf back but in a higher resolution.
Yeah. He's always been evil and selfish, even in WW. He has always just wanted Hyrule for himself and no one else, and whenever someone stops him, he tries to destroy the world instead.
to be fair a lot of those theories stemed from other theories that he could of been an ancient hero that became corrupt. which in all honesty would of broken the mold and introduced other aspects that could be used to expand upon the zelda lore.
@@damienmitchell3104 while true I will say I also found it funny for people who thought there would be 2 different villians when they saw a backshot of Ganondorf and thought that was demise. When in reality it was just Ganondorf back.
@@TheDeadmanstrolling true I am just saying I find it funny how everyone thought there would be another villian when Nintendo just basically said. "No guys the game is about Ganondorf nothing really else we are literally making this game about him".

When Zelda’s eyes changed, I fucking started sobbing. Holy fuck. What an incredible game.

The legendary Hero of Undies
The dragons and their eyes remind me a lot of Majora, heck even the Zonai make me think of Majora. (Cool thing is, in the manga Majora is a dragon which the Hero beats and carves a mask out of)
Another bit to add here: Zelda’s transformation is terrifyingly similar to the mask transformations Link goes through in that game, just much grander and flashier
Perhaps we might finally get some kind of proper origin story for Majora, since the games lack any substantial lore on that topic
@@oriongurtner7293 Also the Gloom roots look exactly like Majora's tentacles/limbs
Majora was a dragon in this little manga but it was betrayed and killed by Fierce Deity, he killed Majora for no real reason in his sleep and carved the mask from his corpse, also for no real reason

So, Zelda and the master sword are both in the shot of the title card when we begin our journey. Awesome!
So two master swords at the beginning of the game
@@chriscofer6780Two Master Swords since Botw theoretically
Depending on this timeline Zeldas just been watching then whole series
The master sword still isn't on the light dragons head during the title card and the beginning of the game for some reason. Only appears once you get off the great sky island
When Zelda transforms into the Light Dragon, you hear a sad little melody as she’s flying away. When Ganondorf transforms into the Demon Dragon, you hear the same melody as he’s rising above Hyrule Castle, but it is far more foreboding and evil.
Fun fact, it's the same little melody motif as the sacred duet from Spirit Tracks when Link and Zelda fight Demon King... Malladus? I forget how to spell it
@@Pianoman1234321You spelled the name right.
I love and hate (as in feel sad about) the idea that the dragons are so meandering and soulless. Someone else mentioned you can see it in their eyes how aimless and such they are, and that's my first thought about them too. For having such incredible eyes, there's almost nothing behind them as far as direct thought. It's all seemingly inate compulsions and objectives. Wandering the same circles in space for all time.
That's also what makes Zelda such a special case. You do lose yourself becoming a dragon, but she gathered her already strong will at that last moment, and I think that's what gave her more purpose than most other dragons. Same with Ganondorf. You see he has the same strong will, but for different ends, and he gathers it right before transforming, effectively cementing it for eternity. It's very interesting. They stray from their "set" paths in the sky and land. Even the other dragons only strayed from their same cycles once geological crisis forced them too. Those two did it of their own will and power.
It makes me wonder if someone of incredible will could effectively become a dragon and keep themselves intact in this universe. It would've been interesting to explore this idea with Link, honestly, in some way.
5:44 the name drop of link made me so hyped to beat Gannon
The way Zelda and Ganondorf look up at the camera is reminiscent of majora's mask link races mask transformations
Wait so the Sheika eye is meant to represent Rauru Third eye and the dragon tear?
In this current time? Apparently yes?
(Current time as in BOTW and TOTK, all Zelda timelines collapse into BOTW but they are all history of an extremely distant past now)
@@withedoter6277Or they're considered myths.
@@Jarock316 Yea, that too.
The scene of Rauru sacrificing himself to bind Ganondorf might just be my favourite in the entire game. Ganondorf's smugness, Rauru's determination, him telling Ganondorf to remember Link's name, who seems actually curious and hopes for a worthy foe to fight, while the both of them seem to slow down and both their eyes turn empty, all accompanied by beautiful music, especially the part of the Legend of Zelda theme at Link's name drop. This whole scene is beautiful
What I also like is that, once Ganondorf awakens again, he's already confronted by Link and the sword that seals the darkness, hoping for a great battle, only to be disappointed once the Master Sword shatters against his power. He really did remember Link from what Rauru told him
When Zelda’s eyes changed after eating the forbidden fruit gummy and said “PROTECT THEM ALL!!” I got chills.

When you eat too many vitamin gummies:

Lol true
Zelda : (makes heroic sacrifice to restore the sword, destroying her own personality and mind to do so)
Me : (makes a diamond sword)
So my question is none of this explains the holes in Ganon's hands when he's in his mummy form under the castle. How did he get those? Or was that just to throw us off or some sort of God on the Cross reference?
Maybe it's symbolic? Ganondorf said that he will rule because "That's what a king must do" so maybe he was a god complex of some sort
Man Zelda is like hundreds possibly thousands of years old at this point
well over 10,000. the first calamity was between ganon and the sheikah, the zonais time was MUCH before that
@@Enomaru001 the 10'000yo calamity in botw isn't even the first, it was the second last of those where ganon was a foggy pig
The Zonai vs ganondorf was even older. But I don't understand the story enough to tell if it was before skyward sword, after ocarina of time, answer C or an entirely different timeline

So is this another one of those Time Paradoxes? Where Ganon can't possibly remember Zelda or Link's name unless she had already went back in time, even though from our POV it had not even happened yet?

@@bat32391 Spoil please. Cus it doesn't make sense to me. Ive already seen the entire game so ur not spoiling anything. He shouldn't have known their names when she hadn't even been sent back in time yet. So ya its like a time paradox or whatever they call it.
@@skins4thewin its simple really. Zelda was sent 10000 or so years into the past and met ganondorf, even fought him
Before his defeat rahru told ganondorf a warrior named link would cut him down
10000 years later after his malice has been beaten he starts to reawaken as rahru’s power fades
Zelda and link arrive as he revives
It stands to reason that, seeing zelda, he coukd assume the guy wielding the glowing sword was link

@@skins4thewin
Actually, I think he’s right and you just are misunderstanding the situation.
The situation Zelda experienced is an immutable timeline, where what she experienced was always going to happen.
To give an example, let’s say a kid sees a time traveler from the future with a sword in his chest die in front of him. Years later, that same kid grows up to become that future time-traveler, gets stabbed, sees his younger self, and realizes in his final moments that he saw his own death as a kid, and there’s nothing he can do to change things.
Zelda ALREADY went back in time and helped seal Ganondorf before the events of even Breath of the Wild came out.
It’s a constant time loop.
That Gibdodorf/Redeadorf/dehydrated Ganondorf is pretty terrifying

You should be ashamed of putting spoilers in the thumbnail like this.
Basically but conforms Majora was the one that made this transformation taboo in the first place. The eyes of Zelda were a direct nob and this references the old manga of Majora being a Dragon. It’s scary to think Majora found a way to transform and keep his mind, no wonder they don’t want people doing it.
Any chance you could use less spoiler-y thumbnail/title combinations in the future? Please?
The Dragon Transformations are Zelda nightmare fuel at its finest

I don't think Zelda (the Light Dragon) can travel in the depths
Honestly I feel the writing could be better. Instead of constantly underestimating Link, saying he's an unworthy foe, why didn't he take Rauru's warning to heart & actually show respect for Link? Cunning Ganon should be far better at sizing up his opponent than that. Seems out of character & not that well written.
I don't like it. Makes Ganon look like a fool when he's utterly dispatched immediately after saying that.
Ganondorf has always been like this. Pretty much explains why he rarely wins and when he loses, it's quite literally because of the same reason. There have been plentiful moments when Ganondorf encountered Link early in his adventure and could've easily killed him but chooses not to only to get his butt kicked by Link later. This is nothing new.
Ganons quite literally always been like this
Hasn't he underestimated Link multiple times in different games?
@@Marukanitel Ya I suppose. Still, I just think it could have been handled better. Not just underestimating Link but other things like not even attempting the same Arm/Master Sword destroying move he used when he first awoke.
That would have been a nice touch to see the newly powered up Master Sword shrug off his 2nd attempt.
And just the general feeling in the fight that the Master Sword wasn't even all that needed. After all Zelda sacrificed to get it to him, it seems rather unneeded during the fight.
Just in general I feel the whole thing could have been done better from a story standpoint. Even having Ganon send random phantoms after Link in the overworld to make it look like he's actually trying vs just chilling in the underground.
@@skins4thewin You seem to have this weird fetish with that move he did in the intro, I thought it was a cool move too but chill tf out like seriously. The Master Sword felt very needed in the final fight, how the heck did it not feel that way? It's the sword that seals the darkness and everything else barely does any damage to him, it is very much needed. From a story standpoint it was perfectly done, your odd feelings have the most shallow and unsupported reasons. Like he literally does send random phantoms out in the overworld to kill Link, did you play the game? The Gloom Spawns are all over and if you run into them you end up fighting Phantom Ganon. He was in no way just "chilling underground."

@@Elite02k
Are you protecting them from spoilers? Because I’d say they’re spot on. Dragon Zelda’s tears are a part of the geoglyphs and are the memories, as they said.
Edit: Your claim doesn’t even make sense. How can a geoglyph be the thing that puts the Cloud Barrier down?
It's actually described ingame. The Geoglyphs were created at the locations the tears landed to "show what the tears show". Hence each glyph image relates to something in the memory vision of the tear at that location. So the Zonai found them, saw the visions, and marked the locations with glyphs that would reappear at the required time.

Wait, if the zelda of botw/totk went back in time and turn herself into a dragon how theres a zelda that goes through that once again?! Like is that the meaning of the uroboros in the logo being that the fate of zelda repets itself or what
yeah it's sort of a paradox. Zelda is born in the BOTW era but because she goes back in time, she also exists as a dragon when she is originally born, because the things that happened were destined to happen anyway. Thus for roughly 117-120 years there are two BOTW Zeldas: One (original) Hylian form Zelda and the Dragon-form Zelda that has survived from wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back when she traveled back in time.
@@TheJH1015 its both a paradox and a loop so to say, since when the botw Zelda (Zelda a) was born there was already another one that went back in time to become a dragon (Zelda b), then Zelda a goes back in time to "become" Zelda b to "live" in the past as a dragon till the events start over. Ofc its kinda stupid how i presented it but its my theory/take on this cutscene, based on what i saw till now (wich isnt a lot since im seeying other play the game and i tho some theories based on what they show)
well she would just go back in time most likely after the queen and king died as saw in the game a new family or retainers took up the rule hyrule. Keep in mind we don't know if Rarru or the queen already had a kid since when we see Zelda vision it seems that we get time skips. This would imply that a royal heir could have been born that the time and went into hiding. A couple centuries later Botw zelda is born. While the zelda botw/tears of the kingdom (since its pretty obvious that tears of the kingdom is a sequel to botw so we can just call her older zelda) is just chilling in the sky in dragon form. People tend to over think it when it reality the time travel is not that hard =w=.
Is it me, or does the music going on as Ganondorf transforms at 11:53 sound a lot like Vah Naboris’ dungeon theme…
Who spoke at 12:04
Could the use of rarua and sonia be a ode to link and zelda???
When Ganondorf ate his sword that was just disgusting the way he stuck his entire arm down his throat
Okay... but where's Koltin's transformation scene?
They said characters to MONSTERS. Kolton turned into a blupee. Blupee are classified as creatures in the compendium not monsters
The real question is why did nobody kill Ganondorf while he was sealed? One chop to the neck with a sword or axe while he was sealed probably would have been enough, some tnt would worked as well.
Zelda could have gone back with the broken master sword and just sliced his neck with the undamaged part of the blade or stabbed him with the decayed end, which probably would have done even more damage. If it follows the same logic as twisting the blade, the roughness and jaggedness would rip and tear Ganondorf's internal organs, causing irreparable damage.
.......DID ZELDA JUST TURN INTO A FUCKING DRAGON?!?!?
So does that mean this is a new ganandorf because he Heard the name Link for the first time?
No, he heard Link's name for the first time in the past when Link was not yet born. Zelda just traveled back to the past that's why Ganondorf didn't know him physically.
