    I love your tutorials....so well done. Then seeing your amazing render at the end is like a homework assignment with a few added tasks to achieve something similar with the smooth camera motion. Had to go back and find the vid you did Mar 10, 2020 on that topic. I've spent a couple nights on my own version, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the great work Asbjørn! Thank you for the inspiration.

  • @mikeallenfpv

    I did your animating tutorial with the spider bot (the original one with 4 legs, not the latest) and used a driver so any time I moved the character in the world, the legs will walk accordingly with the movement. I'd love to see a way we can set up a procedural animation process like other 3D software has, because right now it looks perfect when I move forward or backward, but let's say you want to animate along a path with turns, the character doesn't bend or bank around turns naturally. I think this gives me a better understanding of drivers so now I want to revisit it! Thank you!

    I am currently working with i5-1035G1 & Geforce MX250. As I am a beginner what should I basically focus on:
    ( Stormy Ocean, Wine glass with liq simu, donut/icecream tut, smoke/fireball, light bulb on table, Cave with monster, forest already done)
    A) Modeling
    B) Character modeling
    C)Focus more on photoshop
    D)Grease pensil and 2D animation
    E) Other suggestions
    Buying a new PC/Laptop or renting a rendering firm is way off the charts.

  • @obeycelestia
    @obeycelestia 2 года назад

    I thought I accomplished something similar through modifiers and constraints by attaching a hook to the top face of the cube, creating another empty controller in front like you did and putting a damped track and maybe copy rotation constraint each at .5 influence targeting the controller empty... Then I noticed I didn't get the amazing ability to twist it into a screw or truly bend side to side since you can't slide a subdivision before the hook modifier and it's just based on the relative movement of the top face. So it can "look", but it's not truly alive. I learned twice today!

  • @ShienlanMiitsues

    If anyone has trouble with the N panel not showing the needed fields, don't drag and select the 'keyframe' (the link) in the driver editor, instead while the cube is selected, _click_ on the 'keyframe'. Also if your cube is twisting the wrong way, go into the field where he added the variable expression in the driver editor, and type in the minus sign to fix it. (Ex: var *-0.5) That should fix it. (Blender version 3.6)

  • @trollkarlenjp
    @trollkarlenjp 2 года назад +8

    this might a bit of a begginer question, since i havnt done much of anything, but:
    for the end animation, how did you make the target for the twist and bend lag behind the light? its a much smoother motion compared to how the light is moving

    • @Polyfjord
      @Polyfjord  2 года назад +12

      I copied the keyframes from the empty target to the visible light, and then offset the animation for the empty target by 3-4 frames. It's an extremely efficient way to make a character "react" to something happening! Highly recommended

    I put my ride service driver in a blender.
    You guys (other blender trainers) should get together and work on a movie. When you train, it could be training for that movie, but then also make $ off selling the movie to someone (perhaps themed in a way that could be sold as a sim ride at a theme park or something, or a full length movie if you get enough people together).
