Okay, this was beautifully crafted. I absolutely love how much care, time and effort was put into this development. And some of the little easter eggs were nice too. The only thing I wish they could have done (this is a minor nitpick) is animate his stair climbing a little better. Outside of that, great work overall. :)
i love to make pixelart and i make animations too, so i agree with the creator to not make the animation for stairs, at least for me do a walk animation or stair animation is so hard! XD
The only thing I would change is “within these walls “should of been used for the final section of the game (Castlevania)like in the original/official version of “Simon’s Quest “.
This remake is near perfection. The AVGN review originally drove me to play Simon's Quest and mock it. To my surprise, it was a treat despite all of it's flaws. That said, there are lots of bugs to iron out. My Xbox gamepad doesn't work beyond the title screen. Plus no remapping the keyboard controls. It has been frustrating.
Really amazing fan game. This game, and The Lecarde Chronicles 1 and 2 are my favorite fan games. Too bad Konami doesn't make the games they use to. You've played well. Worthy of the name Belmont. Or Lecarde.
I didn't watch the entire playthrough but what I did see was awesome and very well made. The best Castlevannia 2 remake I've seen to date. Graphics and music set aside, too bad the original gameplay was only a small fraction of what this game is. Very well done!
I’m not too far into the game yet but so far, I’m really enjoying it. The CV2 remake Konami themselves should have done a long time ago. I never really played fan games before but between this and the Zelda 2 fan remake that came out recently, I think I’m developing more of an appreciation for them. I need to look into some others.
Quick question I came across a chest in the first castle and couldn't open it how do you open these and since I completed the castle I'm no longer allowed back in unfortunately. But I feel like they would possibly be reoccurring throughout the game I cant find anything online about it hoping you can help
When you beat the boss and get the relic you cant enter the mansions, as for the chest you only need to press up, if that dosnt work then thats a bug and you cant open it, still dont worry, chest only have money as far i know.
Was kinda disappointed there was no controller support, and I couldn't back out of merchant interactions. The visuals are great though. The first town feels a bit too big, but the very little i was able to play did feel really good. Just could fret out of the first town because of the merchant menu issue.
@@scypsylock9402 weird, I'm using Xbox elite 2 and I found that it will only move the cursor for merchant interaction. Can't move Simon or anything else with it.
The only thing I hate is.. the music is too rockin' for a castlevania game.. and.. I was waiting for the night session of the game, but.. no "what a horrible night to have a curse" and "the morning sun has vanquished the night"? Dude, u sure forgot the vital part of the game itself..
Good fan game but there are visible flaws: - First, the town areas are too spacious. It have the same flaw as Curse of Darkness. The exploration takes too much time without really doing anything to make it less tedious or more fun. Additional interactive objects like candles or breakable vases, barrels, etc. in these empty areas would make spacious levels less bland. - Second, there should be a map button like all Metroidvania CVs have. One of the reasons why Simon's Quest wasn't that well-receive is due to how confusing the areas are. I'm glad that there are now distinctions in areas with different palletes, but adding map in exploring actually helps a lot. - Adding additional UIs providing names of enemy attacked and areas are also staple part of metroidvania CVs. Its not a game-changing mechanic but additional information on screen isn't a bad thing.
- 1st didnt have that problem, didnt fell tedious, i enjoyed the exploration and backtracking. - 2nd There is a Map you can check, not with a button but it works, did you play the game? - 3rd Na, dont need that, its not like you need to know what enemy drops what because they only drop money or nothing, if it has less information is better, dont want a tons of sh... just pop into the screen, i let that for MMO where you actually need to know thats stuffs. At least i think that, if you want you can send your opinion to the creator, perhaps he will agree with you.
@@Drameloch awesome am I able to download it and then upload it into my simulator port machine that has like all of the other games that way I can use my controller or do I have to play strictly on PC?

Maybe just fix the controls on the stairs. They are very wonky.
I do have some other minor issues with it alongside this, but yeah it's amazing otherwise.
11:52 "You now PROCESS Dracula's Rib."
Very nice touch, an ode to the original. Love it !
A very well made fan game. Also I appreciate the fact that you have deaths in this video and it's still faster than other runs made by other players 😮

Simon’s Quest is my fav Castlevania. It’s nice to see a love letter like this.
I'm honestly watching this entire gameplay with my jaw dropped. Amazing job.

Incredible, love that 8bit NES throwback via the end and the final showdown between Simon and Dracula was sublime 👌
Love how they kept "process" in the dialog when Simon collects a part of Dracula.

This was a great remake thanks for playing it.

Only take away from this was the audio was mixed horribly
I've seen many remakes of this game.
But this one takes the wall cake. 🎂
Absolutely divine! The last 5 seconds gave me chills.😱
👏👏👏
My only complaint is how the music all relies on guitar rifts constantly so often..

Best part of the game

No, if the creator make physical versions can be in problems with Konami, well at least i think :v

i understend, i only show if people dont want to play it (not sure why but that) and i understend if you dont want spoilers.
It's also the _only_ Castlevania II remake...

its a fangame, it will be hard to make that :v

How are the endings decided without a day/night cycle? I just killed Carmilla but am worried that I spent too much time being lost
if you found the secret relic you will get the best ending.
The music is Top Notch 🤘
can you play this on steam or do you have do download it a different way? I ask this because this game looks cool.
its a fangame, download it and play it, i hear someone play on steam deck (not sure if thats the name) i cant confirm since i dont have one.
