Before she suicides the camera shows around her room to which you could see half completed painting in her room that she was working on. She had uncompleted painting of herself holding both her father and the guys hand and at the end her dream painting came true that wasnt completed while she was alive.
The father just believed education over love becz people in love dont usually succeed in life and he didnt want any of his students to fail and his college reputation to go down. He wanted his daughter to focus on her career and education but he didnt think his daughter was weak that she would suicide to which he became even more strict that love lead her to suicide but he didnt understand that his daughter didnt suicide cuz of her love toward the guy but becz her father being disappointed on her and she couldnt choose to be away from both the guy and her father.

It is so hilarious that Carolina said that all SRK needed was to find the dad a new woman because that's exactly what we have been saying about this movie amongst my friends for years.....instead of finding students and telling them to love, SRK's character should have just introduced Amitabh's character to a new woman...LOL

We know it’s hard to understand what Amitabh gets by doing that. Becoz that’s his belief that love and all is distraction in study.
In India, some colleges still have strict rules of not allowing boys in girls dorms, closing gate at fix time. It might surprise you as I m sure in America it’s pretty chill. But if you look back in American history too, around 60-70s it was same there too. Slowly rules got flexible.
Since in America, rights and individual liberty is highly valued now, your society was quickly reformed from conservative ideals.
In India, society respects collectivism and here respecting elders opinion and following some conservative principles is important, somewhat because of integrated nature of our society.

The context is lost on them because they don’t realize how taboo marrying for love used to be even though Bollywood has been celebrating that for a long time - especially marrying outside your community or against the wishes of the parents. I remember how strict boarding schools were about meeting boys and how girls were shamed for trying to look nice, styling yourself, wearing makeup, because the insinuation was that you’re trying to get the attention of boys and that was totally shameful

I really wouldn't have shown Carolina this movie as her very first proper Bollywood movie. The movie is basically kinda movie which was popular and hit in the time it was released. But it hasn't clearly aged well with time. And the length of the movie also makes it more unpleasant relatively. Just for the sake of introduction to Bollywood, i would have preferred to show her some recent Bollywood stuff, or atleast some older Bollywood movie which has actually aged like wine (something like veer zaara for example)

The only way to respect other religion is to learn about it❤ and one more thing i learnt is ' Jaha Dharm hai waha bhagwan nahi hai aur jaha bhagwan hai waha Dharm ki zarurat nahi'...."WE ARE INDIANS" sabke sath mil jul kar rehna, sabko ek samaan treat karna, ek dusri ki madat karna yahi toh hum INDIANS ki khasiyat hai.🇮🇳😊

It is inspired by dead poets society. They just took out the message and added love to it.

It's an romanticisation of dead poet society. Dead poet society message was that we should do what we Love according to our own capabilities. But instead of doing something productive and career purpose mohabbatein completely misguide.
