- This video will explain and provide a clear understanding of the Lane Tracing Assist System.
The Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) System is designed to work when the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) are both on and active. LTA is designed to keep the vehicle centered in its visibly marked lane and preemptively avoid unintended lane departures. LTA is designed for use on relatively straight highways.
LTA uses a forward-facing camera to monitor lane markings - as well as the path of the vehicle ahead, if needed - and is designed to automatically make constant steering inputs to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane. LTA does require the driver’s hands to remain on the steering wheel.
LTA is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness is dependent on many factors including road, weather and vehicle conditions. See Owner's Manual for additional limitations and details.
Although demonstrated on the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, this feature is available on various other Toyota models. See owner’s manual for model specific guidelines and limitations.

Detailed System Overview Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) | Toyota

I have a new Corolla (less than 1000 miles) and I have been trying the LTA, most recently on a 75-mile Interstate run. It's extremely annoying because it is constantly making tiny twitchy movements to the steering wheel. Sometimes it totally forgets what it is doing and runs over the white line. (Yes, it does beep at me when it does that so I can fix things.) Altogether, the Corolla is very pleasant and smooth to drive with LTA off, but with LTA on, it actually requires more attention from the driver and gives a constant feeling of lack of control (from that twitchy steering wheel).
Huh, my brand new 2022 Tundra does the exact same thing? My TESLA...perfect every time.
More annoying = less chance to drift off asleep.
Thank you. Very helpful.😁👍
Nobody can tell me what changing the LTA sensitivity does.
Agreed, i’ve been trying to find out to no avail
But is there a button to turn off the Hold Steering Wheel alert?
No
What happens if Steering Assist is OFF and Lane Center is ON? Will LTA still be operational? If so, it will only alert the driver that he is outside the center of the lane? I mean how can you have LTA without steering assist? Thanks!
Can we get LTA on Toyota Avalon 2021? I need this feature on my Avalon 2021
Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Lane Tracing Assist is not available on the 2021 Avalon. ^EA
@@toyotausa You don't know how much I am frustrated hearing that 😤, but nothing I can do about, I have to accept and love my 2021 Avalon 😩😩!
@@othman0077 I also have a 2021 Avalon. I love it but like you I wish it had LTA.
@Danny Clower If you can try and get 2022 model it has LTA
I sold my Avalon Limited 2021 and I bought Kia K8
Does this require both hands, or does it work with one hand on the wheel? Not because I want to drive distracted, I have a thing with my shoulder and can't keep both arms up like that for extended time
on my 2022 prius, one finger will work.
cool
Why Toyota's vehicle in Taiwan with TSS 2.0 doesn't feature LTA ,RCTA with Brake Assist, and Full speed DRCC
