Yeah, look into your program and see if public land corps is something you get from it(common for Conservation Corps) I did that kind of work and had staff help me learn how to write resumes, use my PLC status to have non competitive hiring to postings and ultimately help me start my career. Hope this helps. I have a video on pathways if you get it in the future(figuring out how to use PLC can be torture unless somebody in you program knows how to navigate USAJobs well haha).

Hey man, I appreciate the honesty and am glad you’re looking into environmental jobs, it’s awesome to get into it(I also had little direction and struggled). So a couple of starter things is that on my channel I talk about government work a lot and a lot of the types of jobs I talk about are on public land or land grant universities so far, however if you’re in an area where those aren’t present with a lot of jobs it can seem tricky. There’s always a lot of other places to look to get started though if you are looking closer to you and generally involves some good key term searches and indeed haha. Indeed actually has a list of 10 key terms that you can google for non degree jobs that I can’t share in comments but is an easy search. Another big tip is that if you want to do public land and either work state or land a massively beneficial way to get started is looking into your state agency or federal hiring pathways. I made one of federal pathways but for state ones there’s usually something with conservation corps or something of the sort to help people get started. Or people get their foot in the door with recreations in states I’ve lived. A lot of working on refining searches(what these videos intend to help with) and some resume skills and reaching out to people. Hope this is helpful!

The biggest part of it all is though I just had A birthday that passed on December, 04 /20/22 witch means I just turned 41 now recently. I know it says y'all stop taking people in after 40 years of age in your videos to. I'm going to still try calling to talk with someone about it All to. I haven't due to those reasons.& Circumstances alone. Plus what's called medical history to. Although I'm interested in the field.& Etc. Part cause I know how to turn waste plastics into bio fuels now. I made almost through my 11th grade year in highschool. Although my reading level is what could get me on a lot of your paperwork. Due my reading level in schooling possibly to. So I never tried before I watched these videos.,or was interested in any of these types of jobs.& Skills to. I have some skills I learned over the years to. Like working on small engines.& Welding & science classes.& Wood shop classes.& I've done carpentry work& concrete work.& Helped with wiring up electrical meter boxes.& Brick laying to.&'some tree service work to like clean up guy.& splitting firewood & stacking it up into ricks.& Cords to. I know how to do lawn mowing.& Landscaping some to. & How to sale items with lists in boxes with sales sheets for ordering in items like fund raiser's.& Individual business operations to for their company also. I know about pallets.& I don't repair the B kind of pallets though due to lack of proper training in that field of that job title is mainly why though. I can run dismantle saws.& Cutoff saws.& Chainsaws.& Reese saws& notchers& tear Down big& small pallets to. I can drive A forklift.,or known as A towmotor.& I can operate bobcats with hand control stick's. I know some vehicle mechanic work to mainly small engines though on that part of it all. I went to A vocational school back in 1996 in Lake Wales, Florida called Theodore Roosevelt vocational school that maybe still there today possibly even.

My Dad is was wanting to know about it. As well as myself to I just don't have personal transportation.& Driver's license to drive to any of those places.& I have A dog witch is considered A viscous breed to. Witch I would like to have observed to. see if he would be able live on the premises. By doing what y'all called A behavior analysis observation process. He knows some commands already I've been working with him on that part of it with him for the past 7 years now to.

So I actually made a video called how to become a forester just a couple weeks ago to answer this directly. It really just depends though on what situation your in and your goals. I’d say the bigger thing is looking for summer opportunities and maybe stuff to do while you’re in school. If you are super unsure of what you want though a ton of people get into the work and like running saw or time outdoors or just get into wildland firefighting or something and become passionate and loved their schooling but don’t go too into their degree ever. If you do want to do the more sciency and management side of things it absolutely helps with getting hired down the line. Just having jobs though helps. Certs are awesome but if people know you can do work and have comfort with what the job might require that’s the huge thing from my experience. Also timber in general has a lot of parts and working especially if you don’t know where you want to go will show you all the potential jobs available. Sorry if this is a bit all over the place and hope it helps!

Good afternoon! Really interested in further questions regarding both the apllicatory process and steps thereto. Would you be amenable to answer, and is there a professional-set of contact information?
Thank you so much for your posts and even momentary consideration.🍻

If I could show y'all my capabilities & skills it would be A pleasure.& Dream come true. Although I don't believe in that myself either really. I'm just that way in life. Expect the the worse& hope for the best in life. Is&has been my life modo growing up over the years to. Everything I bought tool wise.& My personal outboard motors.& Electric trolling motors got stolen off of me back in 1993 though. So I didn't get to go to college.,or vocational schooling further in that field due to that either as in being ASE certified mechanic status speaking terms that is. I can do it hands on though still today.& Can demonstrate my skills in that field to if need be. See I wanting to finish my education & become certified in small engines &'welding. Then go for fighting wild fires. I do a lot of control burning around where I stay at now inside burn barrels.& Have put out vehicle fires before.& people that their pants leg caught on fire before to. Even grease fire in kitchen's to with table salt& flour.

@@emmanuelawosusi2365 Wahhh, hey I just got on my PC and put all of your comments together. In the state of new jersey your best bets are to look into the nature conservancy, the states forestry department has wildland crews that they send at least nationally and I think internationally at times, for the feds, you're going to want to look at the wildlife refuges on the north side of the state. Outside of that, your best best is to look at something like SCA for wildland or fuels postings. Theres trainings you can get for free like ICS 100 ICS 700 and a couple of other FEMA ones as well as the L-180 course I think. Are you looking to stay in state?
