I love Junk Journals. I want to make them in future❤
It’s so easy to start and so satisfying. It can be as easy as finding things you have around the house. The idea is to just start ❤️
I love how you did the spine. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome! 🤗
Ty for the tutorial! I love how you preserved the golden spine! 😊
You are so welcome! That’s my favorite part… the iconic Golden Spine 💛
This is fascinating - I love it! I still have a collection of Little Golden Books from when I was a toddler - I'm in my 50s now! So this could be a great way to upcycle and get more use out of them. I will have to go back and watch this again, though, because I somehow missed the part where you made the spine WIDER. It was originally, like, an eighth of an inch or so - and now it looks to be about an inch & a half, maybe? Not sure on that because I never measure anything either, LOL, but you get my meaning, I hope. The covers are rigid, so I don't think they would fold well - and I didn't notice you splitting the foil part on the outside open to make it wider .. so I will have to figure that part out. I love the idea - these books have filled many lonely afternoons for me when I was a kid - so it would be nice to be able to utilize them again!! Thank you for the "thumbs up" video~!
Thank you. I plan on making more videos using Little Golden Books. I’ll try to explain the size of the spine in the next video which will be a flip through of 2 that I made. Once you take the book apart it gives you about 1/8” more on each side of the gold spine so the book is about 1 3/8” or so. The gold spine is very thin so I reinforce it with 2 layers of chip board to make it equal to the cover thickness which is rigid. I wish I had my LGBs from when I was a kid, I only have the ones from my own kids. My next video will be a flip through I made for my son to use as a travel journal for photos and keepsakes. Thanks for watching my videos ❤️
@@Craft_shop_girl Thanks so much for your reply - I look forward to watching more of your videos!!!
Thank you 😊
Every you tube crafter has a differemt. ethodand decoratinge ach book for creating the spine and binding journals they make with log books I’ve watched dozens all are beautiful
Congrats on preserving the original golden foil spines so beautifully!
Thank you for very informative video. I love you keep book cover in tact. Very cute journal you have made
Thank you so much! 😊
You were a great help I am planning to make one for my great granddaughter Beaty and the Beast I am happy I found you thank you Theola
That sounds wonderful!!! So many things you could add to Beauty & the Beast 💛
❤
Love how you preserve the Golden Spine! Awesome Tutorial!
Thank you so much. These are so fun to make 🤩
Put vaseline around rim of lid of glues or paints. This makes it easier to open since it won't stick
Omg! Really!?! I struggle and that would make things easier. Thanks for the tip!! 🥰🙏🏼
Great spine idea!!!!
Thank you 🥰
Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
You are so welcome 💕
Heat your spine next time with a heat gun and golden spine will come right off, just remove getly, then you can remove your staples . Great tutorial
Thank you. Someone else mentioned using a heat gun. I need to try that on my next one. It’s such. Great idea. Thanks again 🥰
I'm working on a Bambi Tpure So Welcome, thats what we are supposed to do,Help each other out where we can!❤LGB right now,and used my heat gun,it works so great, just keep it moving and it comes off amazingly! Hugs,Candy
I subscribed! I like the entire way you complete the little golden books. I have made a few but never kept the golden spine. This is a great idea!!
Thanks so much 😊
This is so great! I have two related LGBs, and now I know how to use both!
They are so much fun! I keep buying more 🤭
I love the way you did the spine! That's the best way I have seen yet and can't wait to try it. New subscriber here!
Thanks! Let me know if you have questions 🤗
I was interested in seeing how you kept the spine intact. Nice job! I love making LGB junk journals. New subbie!
Thanks for subbing! I love making them too. I’m hoping to finish a couple more this week. 😊🙏🏼💕
Great video. I think I might be able to tackle one now. Thank you so much..
You can do it! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out ☺️
I love that you keep the gold spine. It's a very important part of the little 'golden' books!! Great job!
Thank you so much. I think it’s important too. Those books are small treasures ❤️
thank you
You're welcome 😇
love your method...new sub. :)
Thank you & Thanks for subbing! Happy crafting 🥰
It is so much easier to use a heat gun to remove the spine. Comes out intact everytime. Then remove the staples.
I have a heat gun. I’ll have to try that. Thank you ❤️
Just point the heat gun on the side of the spine. It will start to left and you can use twizzers to to keep from touching . It will be hot. It should come up in one piece. I use a tape runner to Apple it back to the book once I decide how I want to bind it. It’s very easy.
Thanks you! I’m definitely going to try that. 🥰
This was a very informative video! I love the idea of using Little Golden Books to create these Junk Journals. I’ve subscribed to your channel. And being someone that has hands affected by RA, I notice beautiful hands like yours. Thank you so much!😁
Hi! Awesome! Wondering if you would show how you made your template for the signature holes? Thanks! Greetings from St. Louis, MO! 😊 ~Kelly
Hi Kelly. Thanks for watching my video. I am currently working on a new journal that I will upload this coming weekend. I’ll make sure to make a demonstration video of the template for you. It’ll be a short video just for the template. 🥰
I also save the spines. I bind them with a ring binder or with a spiral binding using my Cinch. I just bought the new thermal Cinch so I might try that.
Ohh! I’ve never seen that done. Do you have a video or are you on instagram? I’d love to see that method. 🤗
Birde neden sayfalara kabartma tozu koyup beklettiniz kitaplari
Hopefully this translates properly. The baking soda is used in old books that have a musty smell. Baking soda gets rid of the odor. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have more questions.
@@Craft_shop_girl evet teşekkür ederim, peki o iki kapah arası altin rengi nasıl yaptınız, soda kaç saat bekleyecek eski kitaplarda, birde içini susleme yi de anlatan bir video var mi sizin 🦋💙
The book has a gold spine that is existing. I used a gloss over it to protect it. I really don’t know how long it will last on an old book. I think it would also depend on how you care for it. I’m working on videos to decorate. I do have a couple I’ve made showing how I make my tags, bellybands and playing cards. 😊💕
Guzel anlatim ama dis kapak nasil yaptiniz kacar adat sayfa diktiniz ,alt yazi turkce olsun inşallah 🦋💙
The outer cover is a children’s book that I reused. I used 10 pages of paper for each signature. There are 2 signatures in the book.
@@Craft_shop_girl iki adet 10 ar adet kagit mi 💙🦋
Each signature has 10 sheets of paper that are folded in half. There are 2 signatures so total of 20 pieces of paper. 😊💕
