Willbender is so good at WvW that they decided to buff it while nerfing Revenant and Warrior everywhere so no one play the other heavy classes, quite an interesting move ngl

They used to. People complained that it was difficult to pick out the changes that were made from the original balance notes that were posted before, so asked to have it separated. They did provide a link to the original.

Agreed. They copy-pasted Gunsaber on to spear to the point that the Spear Auto triggers "On-Explosion" traits. They can do this lol 🤣

Man, the skill evades on Warrior spear are what made me like it so much, lower the window or something, literally I would settle for one frame evade but man don't just take it away. Least we get to keep the 5 I guess.
We get to keep the evade on Warrior Spear 5, yes, but that casting time makes it pretty much useless for deliberately evading an attack.
Man, i still really dont like the transfusion trait nerf. Im willing to try it out and see if its okay, but i really wish they'd stop slowly making everything feel more... generic. Im not sure if that really desribes it.
Saying they nerfed Scourge is like saying the Roman Senate nerfed Julius Caeser.

This is probably my least favorite patch for me. I am really disappointed in the loss of flavor when looking at transfusion. Regardless of the past and current power level. Just sad. Swiftness and better stab is nice I guess. But to keep the roman theme: I come to bury him, not to praise him.

i know you're making a funny but heal scourge isn't dead, it's perfectly viable although lacking anything unique.
Someone at Janet doesn't like Mirage, I see this Spec so rarely that you might put it in the Shiny Pokemon category, right there with Bladesworn.
Also: Can we stop Nerfing things like Warrior Spear, and instead... Idk, buff Rifle?? Why they refuse to buff old-old class weapons is beyond me.
They can't even nerf WVW Willbender despite the fact people outright despise Willbender in that mode
Janet want War spear to be as bad as War rifle so it's balanced.
With the amount of complexity and forced movement Mirage has, it would need to do 50k in current balance before I'm touching it again.
Unless you're talking about competitive, in which case I have no comment.
I can see why things as powerful as the warrior spear was getting nerfed. Because if they didn't, it means they also need to buff other weapons and classes (like ya know, Mesmer), in order for them to be competitive. And in order for us to withstand the higher amounts of damage, our defenses will also need to be buffed so we're not just consistently one-shotting bosses or each other. For some reason though, they're ok with certain things like Willbender or other builds out there to be insanely powerful, so honestly... your guess is as good as mine :/
Obviously biased as a Scourge enjoyer, but it really feels like we're sliding back to the dark days of GW2 balancing.

Transfusion was spec defining. The balance team lead should be transferred to another department.
Meanwhile the elementalist mains are singing along to "I get knocked down" though they don't get up again.

Breakdancing over the corpse of a dead opponent is going to be a thing now. And those mystical beast weapons skins are great!
Other than that, ANet should have listened to the overwhelming community feedback about removing transfusion. That was spec defining, and it's not okay. Homogenized crap, and the balance team lead should be demoted or transferred to another team.
It was severely problematic and made people worse at the game. I've literally seen people in WvW who had no clue what to do because they no longer had the transfusion crutch to lean on and constantly went too close and got fragged because there was no one to pull them out.
Also, spec defining? It's a trait from a core trait line. I could understand the drama if it was a part of the Scourge Elite Spec, instead, it was a trait that was better than the defining mechanics of a lot of Elite Specs presented as a CORE trait line.

It was the builds identity, and has destroyed any interest I have in playing SANDmancer until they add some god damn necromancy back into my necromancer.

So it helped causals and newbies do some harder content. Guess what, it's a game, it's supposed to be fun, not a 2nd career for hyper focused gamers. Git gud or leave? Smfh.
Could feel the difference in Warrior Spear even before I saw the patch notes to see how bad the nerf was. Glad I don't keep DPS logs so that I can see just how bad it really is. Now it's at a point where its utility as your main weapon is definitely in question. Still better than Rifle for switching to when you need some ranged, but... :/
Did some quick and dirty golem tests. The spear version of Berserker/Spellbreaker does basically the same damage as the Pre-Janthir variants. Probably a good change because it means the spear is now a sidegrade rather than mandatory.
Idk in 50/50 about hscg nerf i can understand it, when you can ignore entire mechanics (looking at you boneskinner) because 1 person can press 1 button, but yeh imo they should have given thise people a dmg debuff or something like "weakened do 10/20% less damage" so a mistake isnt a wipe but doing the mechanics properly is still rewarding

@@Hasarian- the problem is the goddamned class itself, spellbreaker is already the tycoon of hello mothermuker in pvp with all the shinnanigans of boonstrip and forced disability inflicted apon the poor souls that run into them (aka a shit ton of cc) they should do something bout the class mechanic not nerf a weapon acros the board just cuz of 1 spec that synergizes a bit too well to be not intended with it
Couldn't find it in patch notes anywhere, but it seems like they made it so one of your alts in the homestead is no longer riding the raptor at the stable.
Never understood some of the pve nefs on damage. It's pve, it's w/e .let folks have their fun, busting things down. Changing coefficients by 0.2 or whatever is going to achieve what.
They nerf spear on warrior pve... Why?? Spellbreaker is on pair with other power DPS. Berserker isn't the highest DPS benchmark either.
It was pretty consistently the top dog in actual fights which is more important than benchmarks. Feel free to browse wingman to see for yourself.
They nerfed warrior spear? Seriously? We have reaper necros doing 10k damage per hit with their auto attack on the greatsword and they nerf the warrior spear? Maiming spear wasn't even that high damage, not to mention how easy it is to miss if they're moving. And reducing spearmarshal's rain by a third? It rarely got over 40k damage as it was! This was rediculous and completely unneeded. In fact, most the warrior weapons need significant buffs. It's stupid that the class that's all about the weapons hit's like a wet noodle with just about all of them.

Warrior was benching 46k at range with spear, it now benches 42k.

Nothing has really changed, other than you have freedom of relic choice now and you want to hit warhorn 5 every so often. And you can't pull people out of bad stuff.
In general it's going to play the same plus the following:
- warhorn swiftness skill to keep the boon up
- nearly always include trail of anguish for stability on demand
- no point in saving transfusion for "pulls" because that is gone, use it as a healing tool as necessary
- you're only "save that guy right now" button is signet of undeath, your other revives are still better than the average class, but worse than they were before
@@MuklukRUclips Imagine ANet calling the trait "Tranfusion" and it doesn't even tranfuse anything lol.
I would love if ANet improved the trait so that the Necro can sacrifice their HP (which is no big deal for a Scourge) to revive their teammates (kinda like Signet of Undeath but affects 5 targets, and instead of being instant, its revive-over-time speed can be increased the more HP the Necro consumes).

I hear stealth allows players to cheat game mechanics, so you know in the spirit of fairness, that should go for thieves too. I hear the same for portals with Mesmer. Git gud, right? Buff a few things to let them play the same as other classes, since we're stripping the uniqueness out of game. Right? Horrible.
@@igottheshaft the identity of the game itself as a unique mmo with VERY unique professions is going down the drain...guess the devs dont love their game anymore. and with the new weapon skins from BL im really concerned. ive seen this before but i really hope they dont start going all out on skins and cosmatics and forget other game defining factors like the fact that most of the dev team dont even know what almost 50% of their game is and that the balance team clearly has differential treatment for the classes. like warrior ill bet a kidny no one plays war on anet and just slaps some nerfs last moment pre-patch release and says here.wail your loss farmer.
As a warrior main, I think the spear nerfs were justified as on Q/DPS it invalidated most other weapons. Now the damage is basically on-par with spearless builds meaning it is a proper sidegrade rather than mandatory. With the mace and dagger buffs we might actually see a renaissance in warrior build variety.
Of course, power creep for other classes still needs to be kept in check and the disparity in usability for warrior's utility skills need to be adressed.
Maybe it would've been better to buff and fix the Warrior's other weapons before nerfing spear. Since a lot of the Warrior's weapons are outdated and still have bugs from a decade or so ago. The only reasons Spear is seeing so much wide use by Warriors is because it was first decent ranged weapon in awhile and its new.
@@smoothpineapple5220 The spear catapulted warriors to the top of most dps logs in actual fights so calling it "the first decent ranged weapon" is underselling it somewhat. It was clearly overpowered and it remains to be seen if these nerfs have landed it in the right place.
I feel like the power creep argument really holds true more than anything, really. Warrior's not got too low DPS, but so many classes have what feels like inflated DPS that's only gotten higher with spear that it feels like an unpleasant nerf simply because it helped warrior keep up. I'm definitely happy with it, even if Warrior's other weapons do still need addressing, but a weapon being mandatory for builds is never more fun than having choices and variety.
Did the catalyst jade sphere energy changes go through? Remember reading it would be in today's patch but it isn't in the notes
yeah ….energy generation is easy as hell, even qheal staff cata generates enough for perma 30/30 without the need to use energy gain skills like ice bow or glyph of storm
@@lukash7369 I like this chance since it jade sphere was essentially double gated behind both cooldown and energy. Seems a little dumb that certain weapons were essentially unuseable with catalyst because they didnt generate enery fast enough without dumping utility skills into stuff like icebow just so that you can use staff.
I got the nature hot tub and 2 of the weapon skins yesterday when I bought 5 black lion keys. I felt so lucky but then realized that the hot tub is kind of strange haha
Taking the pull from transfusion in PvE was a bridge too far. Time to check out Throne and Liberty.

They had so much feedback too, from people who aren't even playing Scourges (like myself) who flooded their forums and such to ask them to reconsider. That the thing wasn't even an issue to begin with. And yet... I truly am not sure why they decided to bury their heads in the sand with this.
HSC is not dead but with another bit less class identity. At least the stab change (+Swiftness) makes it more viable in a lot of content and not dependent on the other groupmates...
I am willing to try it out but just 18+17,5% rez is not enough as compensation in my opinion. Additionally the values before the alac changes were 18+35%!!
That swiftness & stabi buffs were a long time oversight and should have been added ages ago without any nerfs...

Green Warrior, Russian or Sandmancer. Gotta love the total lack of anything necromantic about the elite specs of Necromancer. Before scourge at least felt like the mummy, raising it's minions. Now? I dunno, pocket sand I guess.

The continual changes to the game are not fun. Anet is getting lost in the weeds over their obsession with balance. So I'm moving on.
If Anet listens to players and brings back Transfusion, I'm sure I'll hear about it from my favorite content creator 🙂

I stopped playing gw2 before janthir because of generally not being satisfied by the price vs content and quality of soto. I also felt that Anet was being a very poor steward of the game with really shit balancing policies.

Next up, Barrier in competitive modes needs to be nerfed hard because unlike healing where you an counter it by placing Poison on the target there's no counter to Barrier other than overwhelming damage.
Am I the only one having an issue where the audio just drops out randomly? It never seems to be in the same place twice, and yet keeps happening. I having noticed any other comments about it, so maybe it's on my end?

Ok, then. I noticed breakbars not going down as much as they used to. Looks like a stealth nerf. Now Lance hits for 387.5 breakbar dmg.
Killed carry healscourge and old chrono. But you had to play half way decent to make effective.
Well, this still isn't nearly as bad as what Anet did to the original Banner warrior... that is in case no one has forgotten it.

it annoys me that anet considered tranfusions pull as "too strong" and yet all the "pros" are saying we dont need it just git gud noob learn mechanics.
So tranfusions pull aside from being something that made scourge unique is at the same time way too strong and a completely useless noob crutch that needs to be removed so that noobs are forced to learn mechanics.

so basically they made the scourge your regular everyday normal mothamuker and gave him an existential crisis. and it seems someone at Anet doesnt like the idea of warrior finally since game release have a decent range weapon that actually does some dmg? idk what they cook in that place where they work but nerfing a weapon to make it competitve with another trash weapon (AKA rifle) instead of buffing the trash one is NOT the way to go...but then again the balance team that actually loved their uniqueness of the profession in this game are long gone. gw2 slowly turning into those korean mmos that are everywhere nowadays. only saving factor is that the game is unique by the horizontal progression system to me at this point.

🔥Take maybe over here, but: Res Scourge still has, hands-down, the best revival potential in the game. Especially with the 1% pulse buff. People forget that the Res is a 600 aoe on a like 12s CD which is nuts. And that's on TOP of a Res Signet.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not a fan of them removing Unique Class Mechanical Stuff, trust me. Once upon a time I played Bladesworn until that was gutted. And it would be nice if they could pick & choose either maybe: "Pull 1 dude out of an insta kill mechanic" vs "aoe revive the group." And while I get the "It' was really good for teaching new people" argument, but honestly I think it still will be. And I can 100% understand why ANet might not wan their entire community completely Res-Scoyege bullzoding their new raid since they're finally doing another one.
Re: Exterpation tho: I got nothin. That one hurts. Almost as much as all the *PERPETUAL WARRIOR SPEAR NERFS* do. And tbh I really am not a fan of the Spears coming out blazing and then having a lot of their selling points rug-pulled after people gave ANet their money.
But yeah, that Weakness on the 5 better 100% be a placeholder and hopefully this gives them more design space' for unique mechanics in the future, I guess. 😐

Ritual of life: 31.5% revive, Wells of blood: 10% each(?). It's not amazing but it's something.
So much sketch lately.. kinda hard to keep overlooking things as pure accidents. I'm gonna be honest, it really feels A LOT more like certain indivudals just pulling up the ladder behind them while telling everyone to 'git gud' when they did not, infact, need to 'git that gud' at anything. See WvW restructering and how that impacts non guilded/can't devote my life to one aspect.. and then odd nerfs to classes that probably didn't need to be hit THAT badly while buffing others that DO NOT NEED it. Lets not even talk about the black lion chest drop nerfs... just all around a cruddy feeling year of these 'wonderful changes'... Sighs.
This balance approach feels like ESO's catastrophic approach a few years ago.. almost as if that same guy is at anet. Hatchet changes feels like a MOD of a game, not a design philosophy at all.
The saving grace was Janthir Wilds was fun to play thru.. about the only thing I look forward to is just story now, and even then I wonder if the money for them is really worth it at this rate. Mad respect to the art, writing and music teams.. but yikes on balance team and at chest nerfs.

Not enjoying the reveal increase in WvW as it's the reason I don't play Thief in Spvp, it just makes combo consistancy a mess. They need to move Thief spear stealth to skill 4 now so badly cuz the 3 combos a mess after multiple nerfs and just makes the stealth at the end of it annoying.
