@@JesseTribby Definitely didn't do it first. This has been sort of a "hush-hush" thing in the community for years, likely because if it got attention then ANet would probably nerf it.
I had a pair of core Guardians in my raid guild doing this exact build at the start of End of Dragons. This has been a thing for years.
@@Nilruin It's funny how people think the first guy to upload these type of things is the first person to discover it. No, they most definitely weren't. They just don't care if it gets patched tomorrow, they want the attention.

As a healer...true, but that's a DPS-Slot doing it permanently in an area without swapping anything or even thinking about it, while still doing more DPS than the average DPS-Slot with the rotation.
So quite impressive.
It is a nice builds but it absolutely doesn't "doing more DPS than the average DPS-Slot". I've take it to a lot of strikes and very rarely I've been higher then #5 DPS. Sometimes even qDPS can outdps this build. But for a 0 APM build - this is pretty good

I was running this build while finishing map completion with my Guardian and it's super fun in open world. Get yourself a pretty hammer and have fun 10/10 would recommend
As one of the 1.5 Weavers, I'm glad to see another build that's easier to do good DPS with :')
Fun additional point with this - you dont need alacrity at all for damage (aka, not counting for utility/cc reasons). Makes it really nice in open world (since you can swap in feel my wrath shout for some quick uptime) or in less experienced groups where the alac support is maybe having some trouble keeping 100% uptime.
Imagine thinking that any build needs Alacrity. Cringe.

You have to swap strike sigil -> accuracy, and splash some assassin gear to crit cap.
It also hits ~30k, but isn't reliant on resolution

It makes the dps on the build more reliable in open world/pug raids.
The build itself does not have high resolution uptime, and a large chunk (15% or more depending on your crit chance) of the damage is coming from resolution based traits.
There's also a deadeye build with two pistols where you leave your unload (3rd skill) on autocast. I'm not sure of the exact dps, but I believe it's about 30k as well.
It is on golem but heavily get hit in content. I see around 20k in most content but I am not mocking 20k which is great for 98% of the game.

@@TheRedGauntlet I think my reply with link was removed. Meta battle has Duel Pistol Daredevil for open world then if you read the variants it has fractal and strike there too. Just use thief relic over fireworks because changing it constantly annoyed me for little increases in open world
Actually, in full dragons gear and relic of the thief, this build gets 34k on the golem at 900 range. I made it after watching videos on RUclips and it's that good. You can change a few traits and give quickness in open world for a slight dps loss. This build is my favorite low intensity build.

Bro.. I tried it this Monday in raids and surprisingly I was top DPS most of the time.
Very good build if you just want to play without stress while eating a meal or doing something on the second screen

You can also outheal the most extreme damage field at the golem with relic of zakiros, litany of wrath off cooldown and a few dragon gear pieces.
You can outheal the extreme damage field on almost any power build with Relic of Zakiros.
Or playing crit Spellbreaker.
Hitting your heal skill is a DPS increase because it drops another symbol (thanks to the adept Honour trait) and the cast time is miniscule.
*as long as you time your healing skill between the finish and start of an autoattack chain
I would be interested to see a series of ‘i tried’ around core builds. Im curious to see how soto/jw only builds perform against elite specs, since jw will add new instanced content
I remember discovering this back during this year's 4 winds festival and being absolutely blown away how well it was performing even on celestial gear. Absolutely insane. This deals better DPS than my PDPS Soulbeast that I have over like 700 hours on lmao. I really need to work on my rotation, holy moly.
I somehow doubt that this is due to your rotation on Soulbeast. I believe this is just a symptom of ANet buffing Guardian too often and not caring about the outcome.

this reminds me of the Paladin in World of Warcraft, where you can tank end game bosses afk. i dislike when a class is designed like this and no other class can do the same thing. i'd be happy if there was a build for all the classes that was like this. i hope ArenaNet either changes this interaction the Guardian has with the hammer, or gives the other classes something like this they can do.
mukluk the title says 30k dps afk core guardian but whenever you are at the golem you are at 29.2k?
Next ANet balance patch notes be like:
"We felt that Guardian was underperforming compared to other specializations, so we've added additional healing off of the trait Writ of Persistence in order to allow the Guardian to stay competitive with other healing builds. In addition, we've also increased the radius of all symbol skills to 600 in order to allow the Guardian to grant the boon effects to allies in a radius identical to a Herald, (also we're nerfing Herald's radius on all Facets but we're not going to mention that here). Lastly, we've decided that symbols dealing damage each second wasn't fast enough, so now symbols will deal damage 12 times a second, in order to bring Guardian more in line compared to other builds."
I've made a modified version of this, using the dragonhunter.
You lose the big aoe symbols and the aoe heals, but the damage ramps up quicker so it works better on moving targets and you have Dragonhunters virtues and utilities at your disposal.
You probly lost damage because you didn't have 100% resolution uptime, you have to use your heal and take a utility to be able to upkeep it for yourself.
Dude, this is like a 2013 build we used to use for carrying dungeons. The heal and field work really well.
yeah. I have the Virtue build on my Guardian and it's great as a way to learn fights. i dont have ascended gear, just exotics, and still doing 13k... while hitting just F1.
I'd really like to see aNet create builds like this for every profession so that there is something easy for new players (even ones that insta-80 their first character) to obtain.
AND i have the Thief build where the 3 is on auto, also great in exotics!
The reason your damage was lower in real fights was resolution uptime. Resolution is a 10% damage boost plus 25% crit chance with the traits in radiance. That's part of why Emi recommended "Save Yourselves" as a utility, but using your heal skill will also help with the uptime.
I love taking this build into IBS5. Lazy and effective.
Noteworthy things for build: need resolution uptime for trait dmg increase and of course quickness.
The community will always shit on builds like these but I always really appreciate them as a disabled person who also knows a lot of other disabled players who are able to play at all because of builds like these
you did briefly mention this build being used in harvest temple cm, it has been done with 10 of them although that is entirely a meme run done by people who know the fight very well, I personally would not recommend playing this build if you want to play htcm since higher dps does make that fight easier and the added challenge of learning a dps rotation will be less than the added challenge of the fight going on for longer
I've been having a lot of fun with the 34k hammer firebrand perma quickness auto attack build
I've been using this for months, when I want to do daily strikes and my cat is demanding attention so I can hold and pet with one hand while playing, it's as low intensity as it gets lol. Also use a slightly modified version with staff and scepter/focus for pvp, works up to gold 2 or so. pretty fun.

@@Arbeitsmediziner sure, it's Virtues 1-1-3 Radiance 2-3-3 Zeal 2-2-3. Amulet: 'serker, Relic of Fireworks, Rune of Vampirism. Staff + Scepter/Focus, both sets with Cleansing+Energy Sigils. basically keep them inside smbols, keep an eye on having aegis + resolution +active virtue and nuke away.. melts downed with people trying to rez at same time...
forgot utility skills: Shelter, Save Yourselves, Contemp. of Purity, Advance, Renewed Focus

It does. Ive had several occasions where the core guardian is the top dps in my runs. No shocker.

are exotic armor and infusions necessary for the max 30k? or having exotic armor will greatly decrease the max dps?
Ascended armor and infusions are necessary to max the damage, but with exotic gear you should be fine for 26 or something. Exotic hammer is not even a big problem as most damage comes from the symbols, not the weapon hits. Don't forget you can get the hammer from the wizards vault ascended weapon box!
I also made a warrior hammer build just like this but a bit low in dps at 24k , whenever I am lazy lmao

There are several times in your video where you do not have resolution. This is why your DPS in reality was much lower, and why the dragonhunter version is superior (same dps, no boon dependency).

Just pointing out that you don't appear to have utility buff up, which would put you above 30k

will +5 power agony+9/non full of them needed?
tl,dr: if a build guide uses +5 precision infusions, they are mandatory, if they use any other infusion, they are not needed.
Generally, the only infusions that are mandatory if they are used on a build are precision infusions. Not running power/condition damage/expertise infusion is roughly a 3% dps loss, not running needed precision infusions means you aren't at 100% crit chance, which some builds (berserker, virtuoso) require to function.
This is an outrage, this build should be doing 50k dps, the Guardian nerfs are getting out of control.
This is the type of build you'll never get Golem DPS on any fight. XD

29k good. but in PVE, how consistent can we get all the full buff to push this number? LOL
if you have healers and boon dps that are playing the game them it's actually very achievable for this to happen, but them all dps builds would lose a lot of damage without those boons, some build like power reaper don't lose as much dps compared to other builds, but you will always lose damage if you don't have boons

Good to give players that have difficulties to be able to play the game
People with difficulties don't need these types of builds to be able to play the game. They only need low APM builds, which we already have. No need for them to also be reaching top DPS or anything
I play with a lot of older folks, and I'm talking ages 70s and up. They play throughout the spectrum of classes and even some competitive gameplay like WvW. They mainly play the low APM builds but also dabble in more complex ones like elementalists or mesmers, because even those classes actually have easier forms. Yet they're not playing builds like this, as they don't need to.
So no, these builds are not actually necessary and are more representative of how atrocious this game's balance is in terms of combat. Not really something to celebrate.

It’s not as effective in a lot of content where you can’t consistently complete the AA chain. But it’s a good build for those who play casually or have disabilities but still want to complete meta events and see the easier forms of the games content.
