I picked up the KastKing boxes for $11 a piece on an Amazon lightning deal! I bought 2 for $10 less than the Plano. I couldn't pass that up! Great video guys!
I purchased my plano edges on sale including week they came out for about the same price as the kastking sales. I prefer the kastking for way the lid opens and closes, the tightness not allowing movement between lid and the bins of hooks, feathers and such the size size of bins... More sections alow for storing things like tiny hard plastics nose down and jigs in small sections full length one way or head down hook bend up in shortest sizing
That first Buzbe box is awesome! I also put that Kastking box to the test. I made one into a skateboard. Skated it for a couple of hours. Held up better than I thought it would. Nothing broke on it.
I’ve used all but the kastking and they all have their place. The old reliable Plano crate holds a special place in my heart but I have to put the buzbe boxes (colony 8 in my case) at number 1 and the Plano edge series in 2nd. 3rd would be the stowaway, they are good but the hinges could be better.
I haven't tried the buzbee due to price...Ive bought a ton of Plano on sale from their first offering where they went less than.1/2 price to most recently several of the spinnerbait for $13.xx each. The KastKing lid opening, closing and sealing (lack of hooks and feathers/hair migrating over top of sections under lid) is sooooo much better. In general I have found kastking to be some of the worst garbage out there but those boxes especially when they were on sale and around $10-$14 for 3600/3700 are spectacular The main issue I see is the hinges are garbage. Hope there's an updated version Edit just checked and the KK are back on sale on Amazon. Not quite as cheap as when I bought but close
Those monster ass (monsterbass autocorrect has Freudian slip?) look just like the old Shimano which I've a ton of from 15 ish years ago. Good from back then not up to par now
@@L0st-n0found it’s all personal opinion with the boxes but you definitely get what you pay for with the boxes. The Plano edge and buzbe boxes are much more durable than the stowaway boxes, especially in the hinges IMO. There’s also the quality of life part of these boxes, how user friendly they are, weight, organization options…
@@FishingWithChris_Tv sorry I guess I should have clarified I was talking about Edge.. Had to look up Stowaway. I have used Shimano waterproof, Plano stowaway and I guess maybe I was thinking the monsterbass was like Shimano but I guess it was Plano stowaway I now only use Plano Edge and kastking for all 3600 and 3700 size with a couple other smaller cases mixed in from more than 10yrs ago. The Plano edge when they came out and a couple times I noted after were on sale for $10 for 3600 $14.40 for 3700 standard and $30 for jig (horrid box). $25 for plastics/bulk $13 for spinnerbait I would like a good sale on terminal but I'm not paying massive attention. The kastking are better in every way except hinge versus Plano edge in my opinion. I hadn't bothered with buzbe because it was basically at least 3x the price. I'd rather be able to afford 50-100 boxes than 5-20 unless they are spectacularly better and I don't need them to lock so. I do have a ton of stowaway and I've only ever had one boxes break of the "waterproof" type and I think they must have been Shimano I've had a couple where the lid warped so much less usable. I still have all these stored and most stored with things in the but now it's mostly nuts and bolts and such. Some smaller sized boxes I guess are Plano stowaway, didn't realize, have hooks, sinkers and bare jigs in them still using... Though now with the kastking boxes I got I've moved a ton of jigs into them because of the sizing of the sections they hold 'em wonderfully I have seen a couple buzbe and they like the Plano edge and stoway and Shimano before have a problem of creep where the feathers, hair (like bucktail) and what's really bad hooks will hang in between sections with lid closed. You close the lid with them seperate and move around a while and when you look again the hooks are over a section. So far I haven't had this happen at all with the kastking and of course the way the latch functions versus edge is magnificently better. The edge opening backwards and then going to close when they partially catch or don't catch... It's just disgusting how bad that design is.

Pro tip: if you buy two buzbe thin basics; one as a terminal, and one for hard baits (in my case BFS and misc terminal), you'll be left enough spacers for the terminal to divide each individual square. Admittedly, I use Ryugi hook wallets for the larger specialized terminal, and so i cut out the cardboard backing in each zip divider for ease of re ordering.
I switched all my boxes to the Buzbe last year. Buy once, cry once, these things are amazing, I could never go back to any other boxes. I'm a bank fisherman and use a Plano Guide series 2.0 big bag. It holds 7 cheap 3700s in the main part but only 6 of the Buzbe 28's. The Buzbe 15's still fit in the side pockets though. Holds everything I need and I leave it in the car, take some rods and a small amount of stuff with me while I walk around.
I tested the waters with the KastKing over Christmas. Loved the build quality and price! You can catch the 2-pack on sale for $28 or better. I have 8 boxes atm and can truly recommend them if you need good build quality but not run over by a truck (Buzbee) build quality.
Thanks Nerds, I didn't mind seeing this again. I recently got the Flambeau WP5005 waterproof at Dicks for 15 bucks it's the same size as most of the boxes in this video. I also saw they got the next size down one at 10 bucks, and I'm probably going to pick one up tomorrow. I am still on the same quest as you, but don't think they have made the best box you can get yet. I haven't bought a Buzzbee yet but am thinking about it. I definitely have a love for great boxes. I'm still using an old spinner bait box that is not waterproof, but am looking for a waterproof one...FishOn.....Jim
We currently rock all of the original buzbe and will be getting their new basic ones. I also use some of the flambeu waterproof and zrust for my bank and creek bag.
Been using my KastKing in combination with my Plano Edge for the last year without issue. Neither has broken yet and they both still work perfectly. Definitely worth the $14 I paid for it (the KastKing).
I know this is 4 months later, but Kastking has their hyper seal boxes on sale on their site. They have 1, 2, and 3 kit deals, but if you’re definitely looking to pickup multiple boxes Do either the 2 or 3 kit deals and (for the kits) select the 2x(whatever series you want) It’s actually cheaper to go with 2x3600 and 2x3700 series (as your 2 kits) than to do 2 kits of 1x3600, 1x3700.
My favorite is the Plano Edge 3500 box. Wish there was a flex 3500 box, that would be insane (Buzbe have the 8T but getting a Buzbe in Canada is a no go).
Clear vinyl zipper bags are extremely cheap and you can just use a bit of beeswax or petroleum jelly on the zipper to make it waterproof. It's great for all the soft plastics
We didn't have any on hand. We have used them and lure lock and other brands in the past. We've done reviews on them, but not like this. Flambeau, at least in our experience has not been NEARLY as durable as these options. I have snapped at least 5 Flambeau box hinges in my day
Great information and yes it does help i know just because i don't have alot of money buy stuff but knowing this so maybe for a few dollars more you will get a better box so thank you
I have several of both the Kastking Hyperseal and the Plano Edge. I much prefer the Kastking Hyperseal for easy use with only one latch. I don't care for the additional trays in the Buzbe.
Buzbee to me is just a little pricey but i get it of you can afford them and want them they are sold. I still know theres better options as far as price with similar builds lol. The edge boxes are nice and to me like buzbee are a little pricey but are solid boxes. The kastking is where its at for a nicer budget freindly option. Im truly glad someone finally showed what i knew the day the mb boxes came out. They arent waterproof in any way 😂 nor very sturdy as far as inner parts. But i do still use them as at home storage 😂.
Last comment plano boxes are better than the mb box lol at least the plano have a small tab in the bottom to help hold the dividers to keep them from warping. Also the plano is a little more waterproof than the MB boxes I have. I'll probably be going all kastking for my on the water boxes and money bags for soft plastics. Trying to minimize what I take each trip too 😂
Buy KastKing when on sale like right now at 11 or 14 for 3600 3700 or Plano edge when on sale for 10-15 for 3600 3700 About same price as h20 premium and better made I think Perhaps I'm wrong I haven't seen the h20 in person.. Like 80min to an academy and haven't bothered ever going only ordered shipping for things
