Dollar Tree has garment storage bags in large and XL. They are thick mil plastic bags. The large comes in a 2 or 3 pack/$1 and fits lot’s of plastics. In the boat:one for craws, one for worms, swimbaits, creatures, etc. In the small boat I know the waters I will fish and have junebug/blk and blue plastics of various shapes. Works good and cheap!
You two do a great job with your videos. For those of us out here who see all these storage options on line, but really DO NOTTTTTT want to go through all the trial and error (which equates to nothing but hassle) these experience based tackle-storage option videos are great.
This abnormal mild winter has me jonesing to get back in the yak. I use freezer bags for plastics. Works pretty good & cheap. Another cheap option is those plastic accordion file folders for paperwork. Good for big glide/swimbaits too. Thanks for showing bags fitting in the kayak 👍
I use the 6th Sense bag. Singular. When I fished the knuklhed I had one 3700, one 3600, and the 6th Sense bag with maybe 12-15 bags of plastic and a few other miscellany. That’s it. Oh. I put the bag in the dreaded under seat area. Those are some good options though. Thanks.
I went down this road with my 22 12.5 native slayer. Ran the KVD speed bags under the seat. After two seasons they fell apart because the slayer with no scrubber plugs is wet around your feet. The slayer comes with a plastic seat base. I modified that seat base ( cut the center out of it and plastic welded it back together, not for the faint of heart , ).This gave me room to run a harbor freight stackable tool box ,top portion 39 $ under the seat. Sturdy water tight clear top a lot of room. I know this may be out of reach for a lot of ppl but my point is that if you think out side the box you can get something that works. Which is what you guys did. Great video keep it coming
Best value I've found for plastics storage are the 5gal and 12gal Husky "professional" totes from home depot. They are water tight which a sturdy clear lid
You guys are in love with those Buzbe cubes. While I like their hard cases, the cubes would drive me crazy with stuff falling out when you open it. Personally, I love the large zip top 6th sense bait bag and the Zman waterproof blockz.
This may sound overly simple but i organize my plastics by techniques ie,ned, drop shot, curly tail ,floating worm, senkos. In ziplock freezer bags marked with sharpie. Then just in a small duffle type bag. The bag is cheap from bimart.
I have the zman blockz bag and I really like it. I agree it’s a little spendy to store your plastics, but it works for me and was the type of bag I was looking for.
@@UnknownNorcalAngler you know, I don’t remember the description saying that it was. I had it out in a light rain and everything stayed dry inside. I like it because it keeps everything organized and easy to get to.
I got the plano 3700 speedbag a while back, It's pretty much the same dimensions just a bit wider than the buzbe large deep. If I could go back I would go with the buzbe for the extra $7, I like where the handle on the buzbe is more and how it opens. The bigger plano works more as an extra tote for stowaways. It CAN hold a lot but it gets bothersome if you have some plastics at the bottom of the bag, you have to go digging down through it all.
Hey on your soft plastic bags you should look at the buzbe hard deep box and take all the bins out but then could leave some 1x2 in it for hooks and weights and still get a good variety of baits In the box. And also the box will float lol

Really liked your youtube clip about plastics storage. I found a really great solution. I bought those empty plastic pencil cases for $ .99 cents to $2.00 for deluxe ones at the end of the rush for school supplies in the fall. They work great when you put the binder clips on them or buy a cheap 3 ring soft binder. I also just bought a Amazon toilettery bag and stuffed them in it.
SO FAR, I THINK my solution is one of those sidio half crates at home with most of my baits in it and the buzbee large cube in my kayak and magpul daka pouch in my bank fishing sling pack that only hold a few plastics for a quick outing. I like that you guys don’t just test out things marketed towards fishing, like that makeup bag. I’ll consider and use anything if it works better than something specifically marketed towards anglers.
A couple comments. I tried the KVD worm bags for a season. What I notice is that anything that is weather resistant keeps moisture in as well as it keeps moisture out. Once you have mositure penetration, it just stays there. The best hook organizer I ever had was going to the hardware store and purchasing 3in snap ring style key holders. I then placed all my off the shelf hook packages in size order. One group was numbers below 1-0 and the other was 1-0 and above. Simple and worked well.
Great video and perfect time for it to drop on my suggestion, I've been looking at that zman one and the $70 one I'm glad to know you can fit more than its suggested 40 or whatever it is. And I love the little sleeve on the inside that's a perfect place to put your jig heads. It's perfect and honestly for 50 bucks I think it's well worth it. And maybe take some of that camp dry spray before you take it out and use it and spray the outside if it's a fabric if you do two good coats and let it fully dry I'm pretty sure it would make it pretty resistant to anything, as in the fabric
You guys may be way overthinking this. Get an inexpensive Bass Pro Shop nylon canvas binder with a Velcro closure and handle 10”x7”x3-4”thick comes with 10 zip lock pages holds 20 packs back to back. You can open it up and view all your baits in 30 seconds or less. You can have one for each type of bait. You can also use first page for hooks and weights that match the type of bait you are using all in a small bag you can stuff anywhere.
I don’t kayak fish but the Plano soft crate side bags are great soft plastics storage bags when your a co angler ! Wish you could buy just those side bags ! 👍👍👍

I only use a couple different plastics mostly drop shot Senkos. I can literally keep my baits in my pants pockets and maybe I will have a small tackle box in my backpack. I usually ride my bike or walk everywhere When I go on vacation I end up using about three baits because I know the lake I fish at One year I took a huge bag with a bunch of stuff in it and ended up using a bunch of the same baits for an entire week. I caught northern, musky, and largemouth and small mouth bass all on two rattletraps.

looking to store and organize my gear to only take what I NEED. I bank fish and have a nice backpack, but I'm sick of dragging most of it out every time with me (and only using 10-20% of it). I need to have easy accessibility to what I have, and take only what I will use, that way my pack is used for what it was intended to be! LOL That said, even though the ZMan is expensive, it's just what I'm looking for to store and find/grad what I need. Thanks, guys, love your channel.
Large ziploc bags have worked for years but i do have the weird tote everyone else has lol. Nah but i have been looking for other ways. I do have a few zmann baits binders. Two are full of just senkos. Just bought a hole punch and bam! But be careful not to puncture the housing to the worms. Each senko bag has melted corners you can get a hole punch through. I can hold about 10 full senko bag in each maybe more. I like the plano and buzbe versions you showed. Like the little window too! They need to make a magnetic heavy duty worm bag that snaps closed with magnets but stays open well... Fish on!!!
Am at 1min in so final I don't know but you can use one zman bag per say and put a dozen different zman in it say 3 of each of 4 pattern or colors. Similar for all otter plastics. Loose one and replace for next outing

Throughout this downsizing series, I love Paul’s spouse like look of disgust whenever Jeff talks about trying to reduce the amount of gear he’s loading onto his yak.
I used to bank fish a lot so I would keep all the gear in my car. Had a bunch of soft plastics in a Plano box...after one 90°+ week I opened up my bag and every section of the Plano was just a different color solid piece of plastic. I keep them in their bags in a sling now that goes in my kayak which I store in the garage.
2 Ziploc bags, pick your size, toss various plastics in bad, soak it with bait juice / attractant to keep the plastics from melting or sticking together & zip up, then place zipper side down, into 2nd ziploc. Make sure to remove as much air as possible from each bag, toss in pocket of pouch. Best part is various sizes.
So far I have managed not to buy any rods, reels or tackle since before Black Friday. It is my goal not to buy anything new for as long as possible.. I leave most of my tackle home these days, and fill a waterproof Flambeau WP5005 or two with the hard baits I'm using for the day, grab a couple bags out of my worm binders for plastics, they hold 4-6 pks. ea. depending how fat/full they are, if there's clam shells I'll put them in separate w.p.-bag. Was hoping to see the binders. They seem same and super easy to find you baits. They have single and double binders. What do you think about the binders. I have been looking at them. I carry mine today in a Tupperware. Cheap, holds 30 to 35, waterproof and easy to find the baits. Downside hard to get in spaces and no handles. Kastking makes the boss bait binder. Looks nice but expensive.
We have used binders in the past. Not a fan. They are good for about 20 bags. After that they get over stuffed and the binder rings break. Doesn’t seem to matter which brand yoh use either
So those KVD long skinny bags (from other vid poo pooing on 'Em) .... Those you can easily stand up zman, top zippers. Edit just got to the Plano speed bag so yeah... That doesn't look as big though and can bring several with paint marker labels on outside
What are yalls options on the kastking bait boss binder? I'm just getting started in kayak fishing, and don't have much tackle, but it looks to be a reasonable option.
I would love a similar comparison with some of these under the seat of the 106 pdl. I just picked up a 120pdl and I think the under seat portion is the same. I am thinking I can fit the z-man under there. The pdl drive doesn't seam to sit as high as the center console on the paddle version. I will also have 1" risers so that will help.
was the pink bag tall enough to hold bags vertically with the dividers in? was kind of curious about it because the medium size on amazon is 13x9x4.5 but i'm not sure 4.5 inches is tall enough to hold bags standing up.
I take what I will use for the day and then replenish as needed. 3 or 4 of the ones I think will work, because i'm a ADHD maniac that even when some lure is working I change colors/lures.
Honestly just store my soft plastics in a Plano edge 3700 to match my kit. It's water tight and they're all separated so I haven't run into a drying out or bait mixing issue.
Was this the medium or large (and deep or reg) of you have the deep of this could you see how many fit in that one? (Ive been working on my soft plastics storage overhaul)
I stopped at the Plano outlet store today. They did not have the Xtra long bait bags. Sorry guys. I was able to pick up 2 Abu Garcia Roxani bait cast combos for 30.00 each. A large 3700 Tackle bag for 15.00. Also a Berkeley Highjacker top water bait.
None of these are waterproof. Most bags like these are not. The only true waterproof would be like a plano storage, but they are REALLY bulky. All of these are pretty much weatherproof / water resistant. So your stuff wont be soaked unless you dunk it in the lake.
What I miss the most with keeping elaztech plastics (incl rigged ones) "hidden away" in their bags is that I can't just open up a box lid, say "OOooooooh" and get a nice "candy shop" overview of all the options I have, like I can with hardbaits. An not just during fishing but even in the middle of the offseason months away from open water I like to just open up a box of all kinds of rigged plastics and daydream I'm sitting in my yak wondering what to tie on...
I carry a damn duffel bag full of soft plastics on my kayak like a maniac. But hey I don't have to worry about leaving plastics at home going man wish I had that plastic right now
Thanks for the video but I must comment that the prices for some of these are INSANE! $40 for a plastic bag? Seriously? You can get waterproof, non fishing bags for $10 any where. One thing hobbies have taught me is once you put a significant name on the item (I.e. Fishing or gardening, etc) they double or triple the price…when the same thing can be purchased (un-named) for a lot less. Buzbe plastic bag for $30? No thanks. That Bass Mafia bag for $43? I think some people are sniffing their plastic baits. Temu…heavy duty waterproof storage bags for $10.
Home Depot Husky 12" Zipper Tool Bag for the win. Who cares about waterproof bags, if your soft plastics are already in zip bags? Buzbee are Lamborghinis of storage = overpriced. Great video, but I think you missed some other opportunities. Does it have a zipper, is it quality/HD fabric, is it collapsible? $15 for the win. Padding for soft baits? Have used them for years. $50+ for a bag? No thanks.

What are yalls options on the kastking bait boss binder? I'm just getting started in kayak fishing, and don't have much tackle, but it looks to be a reasonable option.
Everything is reasonable if it works in your situation. Try it out, see how it works for you
👍🏼
I always us3 plwstic waterproof amo can boxes
I would love a similar comparison with some of these under the seat of the 106 pdl. I just picked up a 120pdl and I think the under seat portion is the same. I am thinking I can fit the z-man under there. The pdl drive doesn't seam to sit as high as the center console on the paddle version. I will also have 1" risers so that will help.
i found 2 gallon zip locks they work and price is right
What about the Reaction Tackle bag?
the binder?
@@aaanglers yes but I looked into it. I like to keep everything in it’s original packaging.
I head to the salvation army store and buy a used backpack for 5 bucks. When it wears out buy another. I have had the one I am using now for years
was the pink bag tall enough to hold bags vertically with the dividers in? was kind of curious about it because the medium size on amazon is 13x9x4.5 but i'm not sure 4.5 inches is tall enough to hold bags standing up.
Not quite
😂 the six cents bag turned into A rig tube😂😂😂😂
I’m laughing because I have done that
My bad dawg
@@paulglass7268were you trying to put up their bag that has the double zipper on top?
I take what I will use for the day and then replenish as needed. 3 or 4 of the ones I think will work, because i'm a ADHD maniac that even when some lure is working I change colors/lures.
YUUP WAS ON {SORRY caps}! lol
Questions what's the best way to carry plastics in a book bag I use a 6th sence stand up bag
That’s a good option, so is the Buzbe based on size and rigidity
@paulglass7268 ok thanks I've been thinking about getting the buzbe
@@jchap7139 we highly recommend them
Berkley has a pretty cool bait bag.
Do you guys know where to get the Buzbe cubes? Everyone seems to be out of stock
They’ll be back soon but Buzbe is typically the best place
Hopefully Buzbe will restock soon
Honestly just store my soft plastics in a Plano edge 3700 to match my kit. It's water tight and they're all separated so I haven't run into a drying out or bait mixing issue.
What is the purple box called?
Sidio Crate
That Zman tote looks nice, but it looks like it would struggle with longer bags, especially big worm bags
It is designed for standard size bags, so not ideal for big worms
How many fit in the buzbe cube?
Around 30 but after that it gets hard to find stuff or it pops out
Was this the medium or large (and deep or reg) of you have the deep of this could you see how many fit in that one? (Ive been working on my soft plastics storage overhaul)
@@PrinceSalah04901 large deep, easily 30
@paulglass7268 mind replying to my other comment? Yall are great!
@@PrinceSalah04901 large deep fits at least 30. After that it's hard to find stuff or they start falling out
Kvd worm bag is the best ive found there made for 40 bags
Real Ammo cans work best!
Great video, thank you
The longer Plano bait bag is better. Same height just longer. It would look like 2 of yours together.
Most places don’t sell it anymore… at least that we saw
I live a town over from the Plano Manufacturing plant. They have an outlet store. If they still have some I will grab you guys some.
I'll take you up on that!@@limpingfisherman1509
I stopped at the Plano outlet store today. They did not have the Xtra long bait bags. Sorry guys. I was able to pick up 2 Abu Garcia Roxani bait cast combos for 30.00 each. A large 3700 Tackle bag for 15.00. Also a Berkeley Highjacker top water bait.
Z man wins again
Lakewood billfold is a good solution.
You can sew a handle on the Zman bag……
I mean, you can do a lot of things lol. This is just a first look off the shelf. That said, we can definitely add that handle
Did you guys mention what ones are waterproof and not waterproof? Seems important
None of these are waterproof. Most bags like these are not. The only true waterproof would be like a plano storage, but they are REALLY bulky. All of these are pretty much weatherproof / water resistant. So your stuff wont be soaked unless you dunk it in the lake.
Ziplock bag works too 😂
What about bait binders?
Great option too for certain plastics. We have used a bunch and just haven’t stuck with them
What I miss the most with keeping elaztech plastics (incl rigged ones) "hidden away" in their bags is that I can't just open up a box lid, say "OOooooooh" and get a nice "candy shop" overview of all the options I have, like I can with hardbaits. An not just during fishing but even in the middle of the offseason months away from open water I like to just open up a box of all kinds of rigged plastics and daydream I'm sitting in my yak wondering what to tie on...
With Buzbe boxes you can. Just set aside trays for zman only
awesome videos
I was paralasyzed watching this ❤
I carry a damn duffel bag full of soft plastics on my kayak like a maniac. But hey I don't have to worry about leaving plastics at home going man wish I had that plastic right now
Noooo, not msufcu!
No thanks.
Dont you love "upgrading" something then actually just losing something useful? Subtraction by addition?
40 minutes of being annoyed by watching someone holler and scream about bags!
And yet you watched it
You really need 5".......phrasing 😂
Lol
Bass guys make everything so difficult something big something small something dark something light and if you wanna go a step further something in between lol
Hey on your soft plastic bags you should look at the buzbe hard deep box and take all the bins out but then could leave some 1x2 in it for hooks and weights and still get a good variety of baits In the box. And also the box will float lol
Good call
