In 2 years I have learned more from these 2 guys than most people learn by exp in a lifetime. I started with small baits not knowing what im doing to being able to notice water clarity, wind and sun conditions and what the bass want in the water I am fishing. This knowledge is worth thousands of dollars in training and hundreds of hours of trial and error. Thak you both.
One comment - in addition to tiny light Texas rigs for the little TRD baits, don’t forget the free rig. Those little bouyant Z Man baits are incredible with a light downshot weight on a free rig! Definitely a technique worth trying while everyone else is throwing dropshot/t rig/ned.
IMO, the absolutely most versatile soft plastic bait is the Z-Man Bang StickZ!!! These are VERY buoyant, unlike the ZinkerZ. So, you can cut a Bang StickZ in half and get a durable and buoyant Finesse TRD AND a TicklerZ! At full size Bang StickZ are AWESOME too! Thus, with one bag of six Bang StickZ you can fish the Ned Rig, the Neko Rig, the Tokyo Rig, and the Jika Rig!!! Heck, use Bang StickZ with a weedless wacky jig too, no O-rings needed. Bang StickZ are DYNAMITE!!!
Love the videos guys ima a huge fan I love the in depth topics if your close to wheeler lake the fishing is a amazing it’s taking 27 pounds ti win a small derby
If you boyz really wanna go finesse make your own swing heads with tiny hooks and small swivels and rounded split shots. Take your smallest swivel take it apart keep the clip part, then take your hook put it on the clip, then take your split shot and pinch it on the clip in the center Thier now you have a baby swinghead. Now any style micro crawfish will be standing in fight position. Boys try it you'll catch the biggest and most finicky bass or any fish for that fact not to eat it. Good luck thanks for all you do. Michigan Saginaw bay rocks.
Hands down, your channel is my favorite by far than any other fishing channel on RUclips. This episode was fantastic. I 100% agree with the Zoom baby brush hog, and Yamamoto sensor choice. The Senko has caught me a lot of big bass on Lake Fork. I don't leave Oklahoma without them. One last thing, don't overlook the Zoom speed craw, it's a killer. Great job guys.
I caught my PB largemouth bass the other day. 18in 3.5lb with a lipless red crankbait just burning it. I took your advice last year with nose hooking a fluke and ended up catching no less than 5 fish within 30 minutes. I thought “what the heck, let me try burning a lipless”….and I caught 2 bass with the same length/weight above. I just wanted to say thank you very much.
I think the two BEST paddletail swimbait colors for Midwest ponds, natural lakes, and Great Lakes coastlines are the Perch and Bluegill Xzone Swammers. Both are OUTSTANDING!
Those old fishing shows like Bill Dance and so on they would catch fish but never show what they were catching them on never show the bait these guys are cool and very informative luv it ❤️

What a gentleman, Tim kept that pinky out the entire time. Must have gone to finishing school and learned proper form drinking tea😂😂😂. Hope you heal quickly
That Dark Sleeper works great for trout as well. Last fall my 11 yr old daughter caught a 7 1/2 pound Cutthroat trout with one. It works great for river and stream fishing, especially for kids because it's very weedless. Nothing ruins a fishing trip for kids like getting snagged every other cast. They look so much like a sculpin, it's just a natural choice for folks using spinning and baitcasting gear for big trout. We smash the barb down when using them for trout as well. Tight lines y'all!
Great video as always! You mentioned wanting to figure out a way to Texas rig those micro Zman baits. I know of a place in Lawreneville, Ga. A fishery where they sell tackle up front. They have some of the smallest ewg hooks I’ve ever seen. I guarantee that they would work. 👌🏽
Thank you both; very much appreciate all the hard work that you put into these Buyer's Guides. We've had a few days of what passes for cold weather down here in Florida, and I'm itching to get back out there after watching these videos. Have a great day everyone and good luck out there!
Thanks for another great video. Im really surprised that y’all didn’t have the swim sinko in this. Im in Central Florida and have one tied on just about year round. My favorite is the 5 inch watermelon/ black and red.
Thank you guys for all the info!! It’s a great resource for knowing what works. That being said, I’d like to see more on-the-water catching fish, finding locations, and dealing with different conditions, etc from you guys. Your such a wealth of experience to learn from, I believe more instruction videos would be a big hit with your viewers, AND get you new viewers as word spread. Just my thoughts and hopes, NOT a criticism. Thank you for the hard work and devotion of both of you, Matt and Tim!! 😁👍
Tim you've had a rough go lately with your pinky and then the treble hook in your hand. Get well soon, and be careful lol. Love you guys and this channel. My absolute favorite, I'd like to see a video on how to best fish points from the bank, if you are ever needing a video idea. Thanks for all you do
Hey Chuck. I wish point fishing from the bank were easier as I fish from the bank when I don't have enough time to launch my boat. That said, many times the "sweet spot" of the point is at the very end, especially if said point has a shelf on the end or drops into a main channel. It's possible to do well from shore when they're holding to the side of a point in current (or if there's isolated structure on that point), but unfortunately many times when I locate point fish they're out pretty far. Especially on those long sloping points. I'm not sure if your home lake gets drawn down much, but one thing you could try (if you don't have any way to see the point with electronics) is go back on Google earth and see if there is a low water time that would allow you to see if there is something that would hold fish on said point. Here in Arkansas some of our lakes fluctuate 40+ feet, so you can visually locate rock formations and brush piles on G. Earth without graphing. I'm certainly not on Tim or Matts level at all, but I hope this helps some.
I love Senko's and swimbaits, which is why i pour my own baits, some from AI Angling and others, but yea being able to pour my own baits is a ton cheaper in the long run, i get what i want and how i want it, mainly because i don't like salt and don't see any need for it, salt to me is filler and a way for bait companies to sell more baits because they rip and tear easier. But deffinately love seeing what works out there and the tips for different color pigments. Oh, Hellgramites and other bug's i'm surprised more people don't use em tbh, can even get water strider plastic bugs that will sit on the top of the water, and fishing it with a baitcaster or a spinning reel AS IF your are fishing it like a fly fishing rod with light line. Its technical but fun.
A couple of years ago I caught a 39 1/2 inch Northern pike on the 1/2 ounce Donko Dark sleeper. I couldn't believe I was able to land that fish! Dark sleepers work well here in Michigan!
Fav savage gear to use for me is the salamander on an ewg ned and the ned goby on a missle baits ned ball jighead. Thanks for all the recommendations throughout the years!
