Great job Tim. The thing that I like most about Tactical Bassin video's is that I don't feel like I am getting an infomercial for a particular product. You guys always give us several options from various Brands. And usually if you push a particular product hard, it is simply because it works. Thanks
Hands down TB is the authority when it comes to bass fishing! I live in So Cal and only get to fish once maybe twice a month… when I’m not surfing. I’ve been fallowing TB now for over 5 years and am forever grateful. Their knowledge is off the charts! I visit my Xpat Cali friends in Middle Tennessee every year for my one week “man” trip for the past 10 years and typically will fish a tournament or two. Thanks to TB, I’ve taken 2nd place in numerous tournaments, caught biggest smallmouth of the year, placed in the top 10 a few times and pissed off some good ole local boys on their home waters! None of this would be possible without TB! Thanks again for the hundredth time. 🙏
right when our water thaws im fishing the first day i can even if the weather is trash, its bothering me not being able to fish for about a month straight lol.
It's so cool to see the BX Brat in the color I just bought in your video thumbnail.👍🏻 When I (AHEAD OF TIME) get lures in the extact color you discuss I FEEL LIKE A GENIUS!!!😁🙌🏻
snow and ice still on the ground here in wisconsin, spring can't come soon enough! Red cranks absolutely slam them early spring here. Love all the info!
I love seeing the spring bait line ups start showing up here, yall are the groundhogs of northern fishing - you start talking spring fishing, I know I'm only a month and a half away from ice melt.
Awesome video Tim. Had those 6 baits on today at Lake Beryessa. A rig did some damage but the glide really stood out. Had blast with that Light Trout 168, what an awesome search bait. Its warm here too. The backs of the coves were at 58F, they were all shallow. I'm so jacked to go again. ha! cheers
Love how all fishing channels are on the spring pre spawn talk when we had a blizzard last week. Was out on the water today and it was 41° water temp and all of the fish were sitting in 40-60’ with their bellies in the mud. In Oklahoma.
Hey Tim! I really enjoy the videos you guys put out. I'd really like to see you guys come to Oklahoma and hit a few of our lakes. We have several good lakes here and I'd like to see how you guys break down lakes like Eufaula, McGee, Broken Bow, Hugo and a few others. I believe Matt and his family were briefly on McGee Creek a few years ago. Keep the instructional videos coming guys i look forward to new videos!
Dude...I'm amazed that you could put a lipless crank in your pocket and not get it hung up in the material...I wouldn't have a dang shirt left if I did that. Thanks for the tips...water here in Virginia is still under 40 degrees, so maybe a few more weeks for the pre-spawn.
If you like the jabber jaw, give the 6th sense axis a shot!!! I would love to see you guys recommend that bait as well!!!! Love this video and it was super helpful for my time coming up this year!!!
I've got the itch to start bassin'!! May have to start putting new line on my 25 reels 🤣 just bought my first 2 A-rigs...should be interesting to try...took the kayak out & paddled across the ice yesterday ...did get a few weird looks though 🤔 A-rig fish and 5+ on a glide are my goals this spring!
Tim , I would like to point out here that spring through ( September ) i would use a spinnerbait , crankbait , buzzbait and Texas Rig the Berkley powerbait and Zoom Bait craw even a tube bait. I've caught catfish before on a crankbait and tube bait around spring , about 2nd monday of april is when i really wanna fire out that crankbait , tube bait.
Great stuff. The only thing I wish you guys would do would be to add water temperatures along with the baits. That would push your videos over the top!!!!!!!
Wow very interesting… im a Jerkbait guy and for you to say that about glides makes me feel obligated to try them this year! Still got a month and a half for the ice to break 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Hey Tim: Great info as always. I live in New England so when it comes to early year fishing other than water being iced over how cold can water temps be before it becomes not worth fishing? Thanks
For large mouth I’m pretty sure if the water temp is high 40’s it’s getting too cold but it’s still possible any lower than that it’s definitely too cold. I’m not an expert though you may wanna research it based on your area the fish could be more adaptive to colder water.
Hey Tim, I've been using those jabber jaws for a couple years now. I assumed they didn't put a rattle in it because the back and forth of that metal bill makes some noise. It's that not the case?
Nice to see one of my fav baits and colors featured. The Strike King Red Eye Shad lipless in Natural Shad has always been a killer in my part of central NC.
Can't wait for some of this ice to thaw to get out there and start crankin! Appreciate you Tim, another bangin video to help us catch and find more fish. Can't wait to see what this year has in store for you guys!!! Amazing things coming!
Tim, what are the green labels I've been seeing on the side plates of your reels the last couple of videos? Is it just a piece of label maker tape to remind you of line size? Or is it something more in depth, perhaps some "prototype only, not for resale" factory Shimano tester tag?!?
I fish from a kayak and am limited in rods I can carry. I own the imx pro 845 cbr, what one other rod for cranks would you bring if the goal was to cover squarebill to let’s say 5xd or dt 16. Thanks guys
Just curious but have you guys ever made a lowland natural lake video? I noticed a lot of videos are always looking for rocks and hard bottom but where I’m from it’s mostly grass bottoms with slow gradual depths.
On the silent vs noisy discourse, I usually base my decision on visibility. If the bait will be super visible (bright color or clear water) then it doesn't need to be as loud. If it is not, usually in really murky, dark water, then some noise is a good thing to have in my experience
I wouldn't ttempt it unless it's a fairly deep pond/lake. If u do want to try use the absolute lightest jigheads possible. Like 1/32oz or 1/16th. Good luck. Hope it helps
Being a bank fisherman myself I’ve thrown an A-rig in water as shallow as 4 ft, you just need to use the lighter weight jig heads. With normal sized swimbaits (3.8,4.3 inches) you can easily fish shallow if you aren’t slow rolling.
Thanks for the tips. I’ll have to try it. My main fishing holes are in the 5- 6’ range. One is in the 8’-10’ range. I was looking at a mini rig using 1/16th oz jig heads with elaztek swim baits. Trying to keep it light
at my local pond the fish will blowup on my topwater. whether it be a spook or frog or wakebait. but they consistently have been missing it. i have experimented with different colors but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. any ideas as to what is going on?
I'm finally going to give the glide bait a try. I live in central/south Florida and fish primarily from the bank (mostly ponds, some lakes)...if I could only throw one color in the S Waver 168 in my region/circumstance what would you choose? Love you're videos! Thank you, Charlie
What gear ratio reel would you guys suggest for throwing glides? Thanks for all the great content, you gentlemen taught me how to bass fish! Thank you!
You guys recommend the 6’10 Zodias for topwater. What would you recommend for heavier baits? The Zodias is only rated at 3/4 and a lot of great baits are 1oz plus
@@tacticalbassin I have quite a few heavier pencils, and don’t use much else other than frogs, for topwater. I’ve always used my 7’2 H Zodias, but I’ve never liked the feel of it.
We sure can... check these out 😉 bit.ly/3cLH0kl These are the best "Bang for the buck" you're ever going to find in glasses. Eye Surrender is an amazing company and they let us pack a ton of very high end features and coatings into them without marking them up sky high.
One size but they fit larger heads really well. We went through hundreds of frames trying to find the best fit for everyone. I have a pretty big head (custom hats), Tim's is fairly small, and we both fit them no problem.
Great video as always! I was gonna ask have you guys ever had an issue with S-waver 200 joint getting caught under water, essentially the bait just glides to one side and doesn't want to kick back to the other direction. Never had this issue in the 168s, ariashi glides, or any other glide bait I've thrown. The s200 was great until it started doing that to me on my last trip out. Weird part is I've had the bait for 2 years with zero issues. Any tips for helping that joint issue is much appreciated!
Hey there, curious which Champion Xtreme that is you've got the ARig on? I'm a Dobyns guy and still trying to find the perfect ARig rod in the lineup. Been using the DC795SB but feel like its over the top.
Hey Jose, I think they’re Eye Surrender Tactical Bassin’ sunglasses. They are listed in description w/link to Tsckle Warehouse under favorite gear & equipment. Upgraded version of the original Eye Surrender shades. These have thicker lenses and coating for smudge resistance. Polarized of course.
Great job Tim. The thing that I like most about Tactical Bassin video's is that I don't feel like I am getting an infomercial for a particular product. Respect for the guy at 1:00 for idling by you.
It's amazing how rare common courtesy has become. Respect to the boaters and kayakers that give the bank anglers some space too.
Thanks Tim. Enjoy hearing this again and getting refreshed on some of it!!! Come on warm weather

Do you fish that lipless on flats without grass or do you have to have grass.
I know the baits are not in stock in shops yet, but when you guys can could you go over the new Shimano bait line they just released?
Hey Tactical Bassin, can you make a review on the Daiwa Rebellion casting rod?
What are the lipless crankbaits that stand up on the bottom, nose down?

Can you talk about how to unthaw the lake?
Tim, does the crankbait have to be grinding bottom to work? Can it be just above bottom?
How about some spring time videos for the kayak guys? We can't necessarily cover "A lot" of water. How do we maximize our time on the water?
Should the glide bait imitate a species that is in the fishery or does it not really matter?
Just curious but have you guys ever made a lowland natural lake video? I noticed a lot of videos are always looking for rocks and hard bottom but where I’m from it’s mostly grass bottoms with slow gradual depths.
