Lisa, thank you for another great review. Hard to think that manufacturers can pack so much into a small form factor. We, here in the Metroplex, have not really had to worry about the heat and temperature of using this laptop outside, yet. This is a plus for portability, a few drawbacks on many fronts. Not for everybody. Thanks for your hard work on these videos, and shout out to the T-Shirt manufacturers
THE first vid I watched from your channel was the Nokia E71 (which made me buy the device during my college days). At that time we couldn't see you! It's so good to come back to your channel. Now I'm looking for a laptop for work...
Yeah, I was hoping to wait to replace my T430 with a 16x10 T-series Thinkpad, but in the end I shelled out for a T14s a few months ago. I don't regret my decision, but depending on what's available in a few month's time, I might sell my T14s for a new model. Never done that before with a Thinkpad.
@@EnglishMike I love thinkpad I really belive that thinkpad is the best laptop of all is the kings of laptops.. the build quality , privacy and keyboard amd next day home repair notting come close to this
I saw rumors that ThinkPad T15 Gen 2 will have the same 16:9 screen, which is not encouraging and looks strange against the background of the fact that other models began to receive 16 : 10 screens.
I agree, I use the insert key frequently, and with modifier like shift+insert. The loss of ports compared to the x1c is also too much of a disadvantage.
It might be a small thing, but it has the power button on the side. So, you don't have to open the laptop to turn it on, this is great when the laptop is connected to a external monitor most of the time.
Maybe she meant that there is no separate Insert key? Because it's hard to imagine that she might have missed the fact that Insert is available as an Fn function.
I really don't understand the complaints about the # of Thunderbolt ports. I use my laptop (a T80) with an external monitor, camera, speaker, etc. and so when I'm at home I use an Anker USB hub and I carry a hub. Why would I want to attach 2, 3, more things in when I can just plug in one thing anyway. Thunderbolt fully handles it. The only issue is that the Logitech Universal receivers only come in USB A and they don't work very well in a hub.
For those who are focused on thin and weightless it fits well but I’ve found a need for older , better equipped with ports of old is my way to go . Great review Lisa , thank you ☺️ !
Yeah I just got a Lenovo x220 I've been modding a little. I'm surprised by how lightweight it feels and easy it is to upgrade along with different features. The trend is toward thinner and thinner, but it's a really good portable laptop.
Another fantastic review Lisa! And the Nano is uber cool. Didn't they send you the little type C dock with your machine? This should be standard to get the port situation right...
I'm in DFW as well and reflecting on the "we are in Dallas TX where it doesn't get that cold" haha. Usually doesn't get cold, but man the last few days have been brutal haha.
To do all the stuff people normally do with a computer. But while on a bicycle tour. I’m of the opinion that going slimmer than an X1 Carbon shows extreme diminishing returns, but to each their own.
I was going to get this to replace my Gen 3 X1 Carbon but ended up with the new Macbook Air. I finally made the jump to Mac and I absolutely love it. The M1 performance is just incredible.
I've been waiting for this review for a long time but I think I will just go with the carbon, even I really want a laptop this size. Unfortunately, the price is really not good for this one.
Hi Lisa, I love your videos, can you please make one on the difference in built quality only between T , P and X1 series. And also I am confused between OLED and IPS Panel !
Interesting. I didn't know XE Graphics performance could vary across laptops. Great review. Speaking of 16:10 laptops: Any chance the Asus ROG X13 Flow is on your radar? I know everyone is gonna cover it as a gaming laptop, but I'm curious about the pen performance.
Hi Lisa, Is there a big difference between the i7 and i5 version? im not sure which one to get considering i can get one for about 250$ difference (Canadian $)
Hi Lisa can you please review Lenovo x1 carbon 9 gen? I hear that there are differences (bugs) depending on the factory/region were the laptop was made, can you confirm this?

On the YT thumbnail thing all I saw was the still of the Trend Micro device in the hand and the shot of a few keys in the X1 ..... and I'm thinking ..... how did they fit a full keyboard on a laptop THAT SMALL? :-} I'm not fully up to speed on current laptops yet but I've seen a few of Lisa's reviews on some, and on Smartphones also, and this site is excellent. Love the style, delivery, and the T - Shirts.
Not to doubt you Lisa, but I seeing significantly better GPU results than the UHD 620. You said that this is similar, but it seems to be double that performance. Not quit as good as the I5-1135g7, but not as far behind as you made it seem. Can you confirm this? I am just going off scarce benchmarks I've found online.
✓ 13 inch screen ✓ 16:10 aspect ratio ✓ Matte display ✓ Not only thin, but compact length and width-wise ✓ Very light ✗ AMD CPU ✗ Not too expensive Too bad, it was close to being perfect.
I miss those old VAIO’s like that gold X Series Premium and the Z Flip Duo. They just didn’t have the right technology from Intel. Battery life was brutal.
Am I the only one who thinks Home and End keys are WAY more important than PgUp and PgDn keys and so should be more prominent/accessible? Every mouse has a scroll wheel and we have up and down arrow keys - who is really skipping whole pages at a time that often, as opposed to editing comments and text where you often need to use Home and End?
This channel is a gem. No absurd and obstructive advertising. No frills, but lets you know everything you need to. Thank you Lisa!

I hope all future ThinkPad line will use 16:10 aspect ratio. This will be a great differentiator between business and consumer Ideapad line

X13 gen-2 will get the 16:10 panel
Finally 16:10 in Thinkpads is coming back 👍 we need more of this.
With those bezels a 4:3 display would have been a better choice.

Dropping the Insert key was a mistake. I'd rather they made the Esc and the Delete key smaller to allow Insert to be kept.
