Thank you so much for this video. I've never braided wire before. The cabochon that I wrapped in braided wire today after watching this video turned out really well! I'm grateful for people like you who take the time to share their talent with others so we can make beautiful jewelry too! Thanks again.
It makes me so happy to read encouragement for others in your video descriptions. The only thing that you seem to want to "own" is the teaching (for which there is absolutely no competition, anyway...you are the best!). I've just started buying supplies but thanks to you and some other awesome teachers, I feel like I can do this! Thank you so much!
I have at home 2 ocean small rocks very important to me and hubby full of lovely memories. I am goint to wrap them around like you did on this tutorial. They have been kept in a safe place for years. Now is the time. Thanks
Your video's are perfect for a beginner like me. I agree your voice is soothing and we are blessed that you don't have music blasting in the background. Thank you so much for your wonderful lessons.
❤thank you for taking time to make this video. You are so charming to watch and listen too. I am 63 and just started wire wrapping to try make an income. Thank you again. God bless you Kim South Africa Born in Essex many moons ago
You have taken the fear out of wirework for me. Your tutorials are fantastic easy to follow, the designs are so nice and look very elegant. All I need to do is find the cabachons in my stash and get started. Once again thankyou x
THANK YOU for yet another OUTSTANDING tutorial! What a GREAT idea for a bezel setting! I can't wait to try it! I/we truly do APPRECIATE YOU, continuing to generously give/share your precious time, talent, creativity, resources, knowledge, and skills! Best Wishes to You ☺
Excellent tutorial! I watched this, then gave it a go with a piece of blue lace agate and my silver wire. And voila...a very pretty pendant! Thank you for sharing your talent with such lovely videos!
Thank you so much for your tutorials, they are the clearest and best I have seen. I was looking for a wrap for a small heart shaped moonstone pendant that did not cover the beautiful stone too much and this fits the bill. I am going to start right now!!!!!
I didn't realize something that looked so eazy-peazy to do......can be so complex and intricate where patience is highly required!! I need to meditate before I wrap my Moldavite or it might end up down the street, lol!!
i love all the little hacks you use, like using the cord to measure if the braid is long enough, i had that problem with making a ring and i messed it up and now i know what to do lol thank you!
Is there no end to your talent! I am mesmerized the whole time while watching your video's and a big sigh when your done. I wished I had come into contact with all this craft stuff when I was younger but enjoy watching them anyway. Thank you, I love your all your pieces soooo! very professional looking. :)
Shirley Zolman Thank you so much. You are very kind. I am very grateful to my mum that I grew up in a very creative environment, as I don't know what I would do if I couldn't be creative :-)
OMG thank you for the tape tip! Until I buy the proper tool to hold the wires in place I'll be doing this. Now I don't feel so limited. Lifesaver. I can't wait to explore your channel more, you're awesome, thank you!
You're such a good teacher. Thank you for your help and support in my professional development. I have tried the cabochon wrap with cord but not too good. love this wrap. will have a go this afternoon. Thank you for sharing. Love and Light your way. xxx
Thanks so much for this video, I have a chipped old malachite cabochon that my mum gave to me when I was 3 to hold when I missed her and I somehow still have it! This is the perfect way of capturing it so I can wear it everyday. Thank you! X
To Darby Stevens. I can't seem to reply straight to you, so I hope you get this. For this I would probably use a softer wire as you're braiding several together and it'll make it easier to work with but still get the strength from multiple wires braided together :-)
Thank you for sharing this step-by-step tutorial. Your instructions are clear to follow and your tips are excellent. Makes my fingers twitch for more play time!😄
Thank you for sharing this video on the Wire Wrap Tips & Tutorials FB page. This is a great video and your instructions are clear and easy to follow. THANK YOU!
To Kimberly Buckley. I can't seem to reply straight to you so I hope you get this. Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it. I'm thinking that will be nylon jaw pliers. It is just like flat nose pliers but with nylon on the inside to protect the wire from getting scratched or damaged by the pliers. They are really handy to use sometimes. I hope that helped :-)
thank you for posting this great video tutorial, im a beginner, and thanks to you ive now completed my first ever braided wire wrapped stone cabochon, and it looks pretty, i need more practice so i will try this again, using stronger wire next time but i really like this braided wire technique, it looks so pretty, and your great, cos you dont go too fast, for me to follow your instructions. thanks so much for posting this great technique, i love it.
I've been into jewelry crafting for a long time & I had to say this is a very nice video! I had not thought of wrapping a cabochon that way. It's nice to learn something new. Thank you. If you ever need a special cab, I can make it, any size, any shape.
CSLdesigns Are you in the United States? I ask because shipping costs prohibit me from trading outside the US. Are you using sterling silver & half-hard GF wire? I'm in need of both in 20,22,24 & 26 gauges.
I am so glad to see this. This is how I can frame a donut pendant I made. I glued an ornamental button over the hole and have tried a few things to add a bail, but none seemed right. I just love the look!
You are the best tutorial by far! I love you because you talk and teach as you go. Other tutorials just use music. Even though mine was not as good as yours, it was still beautiful from the love and guidance from your voice. It inspires me to train from you. Thank you so much! Where are you in the world?
One of the best tutorials I have seen. I could see everything you did clearly. Your explanation of each step was easy to follow and the result was beautiful! Thank you!
WOW! Fairly easy and gorgeous! I'm super excited to get to my shop tomorrow and craft this little beauty. I have some pretty striped agate cabs that have been sitting to the side waiting to be dressed and I am most definitely going to use your creation here on them. Thank you so much for showing us. Love and blessings from South Carolina USA 😊❤
I tried making this and had such a hard time getting the wire to bend around my stone. You make it look a lot easier then it is. I did finish mine but does not look anywhere near as good as yours does. The wire was not corroborating at all. Still great video you are a good teacher, thanks
this is the best tutorial ive watched, you do it slow enough for anybody to follow and are close up and show all angles,i also have a question i have searched for months for a tutorial (not just on youtube) for a fancier way to wrap a pencil point, besides the basket,(i have some beautiful lapis points),and also i would love to see a tutorial on how to add a small swarovski bead.bicone or other to a wrapped gemstone either at top, middle or dangling from bottom, also i have some beautiful ny herkimers id like to dangle from the bottom of a wrap, but have no idea, and have found nothing, can you please consider doing some videos on those? you would be the first thank you ,again very nice informative video
Thanks to you and your video, I just finished making a pendant out of a trilobite for my girlfriend's birthday. It's a difficult shape to work with, and I don't think anything other than this particular wrapping technique would have worked for me (especially since I've never made jewelry before), so again, thank you. :)
Thank you for a brilliantly simple and easy to follow demo. I've only ever wrapped cabochons one way and this is another technique that I will be trying it looks so stunning.
Great video. I'm so glad you went slow and showed every wire and how to weave and shape it. So many times the instructor's hands get in the way and I get lost. I have several pieces or slices of agate that I need to cover the edges, however they are very irregularly shaped. They are flat but have no distinct shape. Could you suggest a braid or a way to cover the egdes if this method won't work. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
+Shelli Castanos Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. I do have a playlist of tutorials for different ways to wrap stones and cabochon that might be helpful for you then. Just have a look on my channel :-)
Thank you for such great information, your tutorials are so easy to follow and understand how to do each and every step needed to make beautiful solid settings. I have some very expensive big gemstones I've been wanting to wire wrap securely and you have shown me how it can be done.
U r a master at jewelry making n make a superb teacher! Pure inspiration!!! Thank u for generously sharing ur talent, experience n technique w us! Many blessings to u from Hawaii! Mahalo!
I have seen 5 strand cabochon wrap before. Yours is lovely but I have made a bout 5 of these cabochons prior to finding your tutorials. I love seeing new things but maybe instead of saying don’t reproduce your video maybe change it to if you try a RUclips video please put in the RUclips film that they got the inspiration from your videos. Just an idea to been the plat around the cabochons using tools I hold it like you do and roll it around on my steel anvil and hit it softly with my rubber hammer, this way is quick less likely to leave tool marks on the wire. Nice work.
To Salina Chambers I hope you get this as I can't seem to reply straight to you. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. I haven't wrapped a stone like that before but it's certainly something I can keep in mind. As for adding smaller gems, do you mean in the style of a charm. If so how about using a headpin to make a wrapped loop and then attach it to what it is you wan to attach it to. I hope that helped :-)
Hello !! Thank you so much for your detailed and well instructed video. I did this one as my first and though mine is somewhat messy...the cab is in there snuggly and I'm pleased. I so appreciate your videos.
This is an amazing tutorial! Crochet hook for making the bale, I like it! I've been using a chopstick but it's wood and sometimes with 18 gauge wire I end up with an oval bail because the chopstick gets choked so bad so I need something else haha I was using a pencil but it's a little too thick. I bet we all use different random items we have laying around. Love to hear what others use?

wiresandbeads.com I agree So much!!!! Exactly what my comment would have been ☺,... She is really sweet, and talented!
And she gets to the point without all that extra talking
Also the camera is perfectly focused on the materials, other videos are so hard to watch

R Rosemary Lusty That's so great. I'm really glad that my videos are helpful for you :-)
Brilliant! I love the sound that a person's voice has when they are showing you how to do something.
Wonderful tutorial, I practiced the five strand braiding with yarn first before I used wire. My project turned our well, so thank you!
Great idea
you are the best teacher people could ever ask for!
I work with much smaller cabochons, so now I have something new to try, although with smaller gauge wire. Thank you!

thank you for being an awesome teacher,my wife love the wraps I do thanks to you.
Красивый аметист. Шикарный кулон получился. Спасибо за мастеркласс, сделаю себе такой с голубым агатом. Думаю, тоже симпатично получится.
This is such even work, although free-hand. You do not have to rely on find gauge weaving wire to make
a presentable piece. Elegant!
I didn't realize something that looked so eazy-peazy to do......can be so complex and intricate where patience is highly required!!
I need to meditate before I wrap my Moldavite or it might end up down the street, lol!!

Such a lovely design.
