Awesome. This same principal totally worked for me. Only when I did turned my sample rate from 4kHz to 44.1kHz, it only took out some of the static. When I upped the sample rate to 88.2 kHz, boom No mo static. Thanks!
mine was working great and then all of a sudden today...noise when i recorded, talking to a buddy on discord, everywhere. Tried different mics and cables finally decided it was the focusrite. Reinstalled drivers. moved usb location...all sorts of stuff. then your solution fixed it in about 3 seconds. Cheers to you sir!!!!
After watching so many videos from famous youtubers that says it fixed the problem when they added noise supression filters which didn't really fixed my issue, this less than 2 min video was the one who finally saved me and fixed my problem permanently! Thanks, man! You got a new like and subscriber. Thank you very much!
No problem bro 😆 im so glad this is helping people cuz i didnt want anyone else to go through this problem like i did. If i find any other fixes ill post them too
Thank you so much! I actually had this problem when my sample rate was fixed to 44100, so I tried switching it to 48000 just to see how it would work. And now my life is all fine again. You're a hero, man! Props to you!
My god how does this fix not have more views, I had to switch to no interface for a month because there was too much static and nobody knows how to fix it but this is so easy and it works. Kudos to you my guy, one legend to another.
how did this one video, this one video of a guy recording his computer screen with his phone (vertically, may I add) solve this massive headache of mine. A headache which lasted for like 5 hours of pain. I've been searching forums, videos from professionals etc. None helped. Until I found this beautiful video. It came down to desperation, and yet... It worked. Subbed
Best Christmas Present ever, received my focusrite on Christmas Day and you solved the problem. Still helping those who are in the future. Many thanks for sharing this
thank you!!! It must have been a windows update or something because I had been recording fine for a long time and suddenly it started sounding like garbage. this fixed it immediately
holy shi may god bless you, i was used to use 48000 on macos and since i use windows too i have this problem and finally after 2 months of searching i found this video, THANK YOU!!!
dude.... thank you so much!!! I looked everywhere for answers and thing worked. This worked on my 2nd gen 2i4. Any idea why?? Would love to understand what the issue was/is. Thanks again.
Hey i have a fix that worked for me: My new 2nd monitor was the cause, i moved the power chord to a new different wall outlet and it worked!!! no more buzzing and popping
Hahaha I thought you were gonna throw that shit in the trash at first. But holy shit, this actually fixed my mic AND made my headphones sound better. Thank you so much
Thank you for sharing! My Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen started with kind of a noisy and I have installed the newest version of driver for windows 10, but the problem continues. I can't believe that's a hardware problem, cause my interface is practically new. What can I do? Thanks for while and have a nice day!
HELP! [ I'm using scarlett 2i2, rode NT1 in Logic. ] Not sure what i have done, but it suddenly has an extremely loud mosquito sound coming through. Ive been trying to fix it for a month! Ive tried all sorts of things and thought perhaps the mic was broken... but when i checked through all my recordings again (I was just saying hello in different settings) I noticed that one of the recordings was fine 🤦♀ but ive tried hundreds of times since then and cant reproduce a clear sound again. No idea what I have pressed or what settings have been changed. Also the audio coming through the mic is extremely quiet and sort of muffled, but completely clear in the one audio file i mentioned!!!! PLEASE HELP, any advice anyone???!!!! ( input is set to 1 channel; sample 44100hz; power unplugged same issue; new cables same issue; focus rite in different places same issue.)
I did not have this option available. I would suggest troubleshooting in the settings and I changed the bit rate there, it stopped being fuzzy in playback, that worked for me, this didn't.
I found out why I had a problem! For some ungodly reason, when I switched my microphone from my PC to my field audio recorder, the mic carried over the sample rate (192,000) to the scarlett solo. Setting the sample rate to 192000 in the device settings fixed my issue, however, something to note is I had to search for "focusrite device settings" in the searchbar (bottom left) in order to get the device settings menu. Ridiculous.
I have a Focusrite setup running through a MacBook Air and found that the computer charging cable was the cause of the noise. I couldn't figure out why the hell I had this sudden noise when trying to edit and record using Adobe Audition. I started unplugging things one and a time. When I removed my charging cable from my computer the noise instantly stopped!
Thanks for trying bro,iv tried everything under the sun including this,i bought a Scarlett solo 3rd gen studio bundle, nothing seems to fix it,im thinking of returning everything
@@TheBassJourney iv tried all settings,iv tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers,iv tried moving the mic around, tried another pc,tried changing power settings, tried changing usb settings, nothing works
Is it possible that your project sample rate in your tracking software was at 44.1 and the interface was at 48? They both must match or else it doesn't work! And you can use any rate you choose as long as they match.
Bro... sample rate makes a difference for recording quality as well as playback quality depending on the sample rate of the recording. I play FLAC files at 192k sample rate on electrostatic headphones and I want my audio interface to match that. I’m not going to lower my sample rate of my audio interface and loose quality where the audio interface is supposed to be able to go up to that value. The way I’ve been fixing the problem when it comes up is I go to the mixing and routing settings and I restore factory defaults then I set my sample rate back up to 192k and it works again. But only for a little while. I’m looking for a way to solve my issue without lowering my quality.
Didn't work for me 😢have constant white noise so adding a pre amp makes it deafening and unplayable. I unplugged the guitar and it still has white noise coming through so it's the focusrite itself but idk what to do
Doesn't work on the Focusrite Clarett 4pre, when I connect it to USB-C to USB-C it gets weird static noises Only when I use USB to C it works normally with only light static noises sometimes. Which I could connect to USB-C to save USB hubs on my laptop.
So basically u matched the sample rate of your audio interface to the one your DAW/Editing software is using. This has nothing to do with focusrite. but hey kuddos for u see you helped people out.
Awesome. This same principal totally worked for me. Only when I did turned my sample rate from 4kHz to 44.1kHz, it only took out some of the static. When I upped the sample rate to 88.2 kHz, boom No mo static. Thanks!

THANK YOU!!! Only video that worked for me
WoW! Worked on 4i4 3rd gen.. moved to any other than 48000 and the static is gone. It was driving me crazy! Thanks man! LIKE!
I was trying so hard yesterday to get rid of that damn static. I ended up filtering it out with Adobe Audition. Now, I'll try your method.
Tried it. No static now. Thanks.

Did you try each setting?

I want to note that, possibly due to scarletts incompetency, I had to do a whole interview (on zoom) with this static mic sound. Why scarlett, why?!
Appreciate that man. Thanks

Thank you so much! and thank you for getting straight to the point!
Huh, had this issue. Mine was on 44.1 I switched it to 48 and it remedied the issue. Seems to be some kind of software/driver bug....
Same here. I was on 41.1 so I switched to 48 within Focusrite Control and it fixed my mic popping in discord. Hopefully it stays.
What about for Mac?!?
Not sure. You might have to mess around with it and find those settings
I was having the same problem with an 18I8 3rd Gen, it was set the same way! Let's see, thanks for the find.
Glad i could help 🙏

Are there any solutions for MAC?
For those that may not know About using sample rates. In general, 44.1k is used for strictly just audio such as CDs etc. 48k is used for video.
Really?. 48 and 96 are commonly used in audio.
searchlight17 Yes. Yes all of those sample rates are used in audio. But not necessarily when working with Video.
Thanks it worked😊💛
You're welcome 😄
You a homie
Will try tomorrow / thanks
Thank you!
