  • Hey Guys,
    Here is Part 1 of the breakdown of the Guildwars 2 Trinity focusing on the current 2024 meta of Heal Supports. This isnt an absolute as many of the builds i dont directly highlight are good, or are prefered in some areas. the point is to cover some basics about what this role entails and why it is this way. I hope you enjoyed the video and are looking forward to the next part!
    Cheers, and thanks for watching

    On one hand the lack of a trinity was a real cool idea and I’m kind of sad they moved away from something that really made the game unique.
    On the other hand I’ve always been a heal/tank main in other games, so being able to roll up on my chrono or tempest and literally tank+heal on one character really does fulfill my ideal class fantasy.

      I play a lot of supports too. I think it makes for better encounter design personally. It was okay before but.. battle of lions arch with no boon supports was trash in season 1.

    Interestingly enough IMO the best current 'one build' versatility is Heal Firebrand which you can then swap the gear to Heal Herald. But with the next large balance patch, Heal Chronomancer (swapping gear if needed to Heal Alac Scourge) might start to take over. I like the omnipresence of build versatility nowadays.

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад

      I agree. I have an entire video on firebrand being the best "all around" support build. I have seen more chronos popping up in fractals though, and scourge will always be good in raids.

    My gripe with quickness herald is that it is the only boon dps choice if you wanna go solo heal for your group since herald is pretty much the only boon dps that can provide perma prot

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah so QDPS herald is OP. High af damage, high af boon radius, has access to all important boons 100% uptime with no boon duration. It's an insane build in group comps.

    • @JeromeKJB
      @JeromeKJB 6 месяцев назад

      It actually isn't, renegade does far higher dmg. This is after considering the fact that you drop heart piercer for all for one to grant perma prot. There's even a LI Kalla camp build for it.

      @@MrCarlWaxIt's really not 👀 I've been maining sage in FFXIV the last few years because I prefer it, but I can pick up and play any of the other 3 healers I've leveled in the last decade and they're still just as viable as they were 10 years ago. This goes for the dps classes I play as well. They shouldn't make so many changes to a class that they make it irrelevant.... Other classes can be made more viable without destroying already viable classes 🤦‍♀️

    • @pega7550
      @pega7550 4 месяца назад

      But wouldn‘t you have to lvl up and get gear for those other classes in FF14 if you haven‘t played them for a while? The heal stat suffix never changed, it‘s always been mainly harriers since path of fire released, maybe with some minstrels slot in if you also have to tank in raids, but that‘s not necessary for armor, just get a couple rings to do the job for you.
      It‘s literally only the build that changes and I don‘t know which profession that was able to be played as healer before isn‘t usable anymore.
      Druid had a dead phase when they removed the 10-people heal from it, but now it‘s viable again thanks to providing alacrity and we got even more healing options now with warrior berserker and chronomancer as the most recent examples, that didn‘t have any healing viability at all before.

    • @jaimeashley645
      @jaimeashley645 4 месяца назад +1

      @@pega7550 FFXIV is vertical progression rather than horizonal progression it's true, so every time a new raid is released or a new expansion comes out you need to upgrade your gear(and level each class to whatever the current max level is). But heal armor is heal armor, DPS armor is DPS armor. I don't need 3 different sets of armor because I play 3 different healers unless I'm using one of the few(usually inferior) class specific armor pieces. My point was that SE doesn't nerf their classes to the point that they're no longer a viable choice and if they do they fix it quickly. The dude I was replying to made it seem like it's normal for companies to make classes unviable for the purpose they were designed for and it's really not. You shouldn't be forced to play a chronomancer when you want to play a druid just because the druid has been nerfed and the chronomancer is the better healer(just examples, I'm not actually certain which is the better healer atm, or if there's even a difference between the 2). The only thing that should affect your choice is play style.

    You put druid in the "okay most places" category, and talk about boon DPS having to cover for something those healers lack. I'd like to hear your thoughts what it is that druid lacks, considering it has the highest healing output in the game, access to insane amounts of ranged healing, provides 25 Might on its own, full uptime of Fury, Swiftness, Prot and Regen, has access to Aegis on low cooldown (especially if you alternate Spirit and pet), has access to on-demand low-cooldown Stability, has the highest CC output out of all healers in the game, and provides a lot of condition cleanse. Is it about not being able to provide 100% Vigor uptime without sacrificing some healing and condi cleanse for it?

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад +2

      It's about the CA resource management. I love druid but how often do you see them in fractal CMs? Like heal spectre is great but it is extremely hard to play, it is often used in HTCM and stuff, does it make it the best healer? Nah because only like 5 people can play it. This isn't a teir list video, I did include it in the Meta because of all the things you mentioned lol.

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai 6 месяцев назад

      @@SilhouetteGaming1 Ah, fair. If you include fractals, I can see how you came to this conclusion. CA management is pretty much never a problem in raids, but I can see how it'd be annoying in strikes in duo heal groups since there's no aura damage and you have nothing to heal there... Yeah, okay, if this is about endgame content in general, I agree with you.
      I think the video is overall a pretty decent overview, although I don't like your statement that most bosses aggro on highest toughness - if you exclude Statues in W5 (because it's technically not a boss), then you have exactly 9 bosses that aggro based on toughness and 9 bosses that aggro through special action, proximity, or other. And if you add strikes, most of them have proximity tanking too (KO mech, KO first split, Dagda). So "most" is stretching it a little... But it's good for the tank to have toughness regardless of whether it's needed or not, so I guess it's kinda whatever. Listening to your video I just had sudden flashbacks to pugs checking toughness on QtP.
      Another thing is that you put tempest and druid as high healing output... That was definitely true for tempest with the old build, before it got alac, but I think nowadays herald and firebrand have much higher healing output than tempest, and I'd maybe even put scourge up there if you count barrier as healing. I don't have exact numbers to prove my point, but I think tempest (assuming we're talking about a build that actually provides alac, might, etc) is one of the lowest healing output healers.

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@ArekiMirai Specific raid wing guides are in the works covering individual bosses, this was more about what to expect from a heal support position in organized group content. i believe even with the alac trait that tempest is still one of the higher healers, but i am definitely least versed in elementalist out of all the classes.

    • @ArekiMirai
      @ArekiMirai 6 месяцев назад

      @@SilhouetteGaming1 I'll be looking forward to seeing raid guides, as all existing ones either contain misinformation, are too long, or go into too much detail regarding strats (which are often outdated) when they should just explain how the boss works instead. Hopefully you don't make those same mistakes. Good luck!

    • @Favnira
      @Favnira 6 месяцев назад +4

      race doesn't do anything in GW2, its purely aesthetic, some entry lvl quest lines changes and you can use specific skills based on your race, but they are completely not in use outside very very very specific situations. In full raid (10 ppl) there are usually 2 healers, 1 in each group of 5 players. Kite here is also a thing (not a healer, someone who can sustain their health on their own), check out some raid content such as Qadim the Peerles (3 kites), Dhuum (1 kite)

    • @SilhouetteGaming1
      @SilhouetteGaming1  6 месяцев назад +4

      2 healers in a typical raid group, could be 3 if you wanted overkill. Sometimes healers kite a mechanic, sometimes other classes do. Race has no effect on anything.

    • @Cross_111
      @Cross_111 6 месяцев назад

      Not sure its such a good idea to promote healers to newer players ^^
      If a dps dies or does not know all mechanics by hand then harder fights are not bound to fail
      When the healer dies the fight is often over for the whole group 😅
      Additionally a support spec is often required to change the builds/skills to adjust to the fights so its even more complicated
      Its better to start easy and get into content slower and dps is just better at this ^^

    • @SilhouetteGaming1

      Herald is overall easier- probably better in some cases but If fractals are your primary gamemode firebrand is goat. Herald qdps is easier than qfb as well but in terms of healers I think Herald is better for casual players - great in wing 7 all around, great in most normal mode strikes namely HT. But I think if you learn HFB it really is just capable of doing everything pretty good despite not having an infinite bubble. It was the goat before heal Herald was even viable. So it's up to what you want, you can get a good amount of mileage out of both builds, arguably more out of HFB but at the cost of a significantly higher learning curve.
