    used this as a guide for a 982/718 GT4. The oddest part was at the 0:49 second part- play that at half speed to get a feel for the direction to pull. Be on the lookout for all the rubber isolators that will pop out all over the place. Conical ones for the pegs, very small u shaped ones that serve to isolate plastic on plastic or plastic on metal interfaces. There's two that isolate the side panel from the rear speaker grill. They are black against a very black dark hatch trunk.

    An absolutely fantastic video. Every part perfectly explained. Only one petit gripe. No need for the music in the background. Annoying. My wife and I will do it together. THANK YOU !!!! She is such a car geek. Thank goodness. (-:

    You have , by far, the best video for air exchanges Ive seen. I'll be performing this procedure as soon as my filters arrive. Thanks. Great video

    I see references to grease on the gaskets. What type grease and where is it applied?

    I like this new format! Looking forward to seeing other maintenance guides for 981, like ticky spark plugs / coils replacement :-)

    Great video, thanks a lot. I'm thinking about doing the same mod on my 981 Boxster S. Have you noticed a change/ increase of interior intake noise? Regards

    • @Flat6Motorsports
      @Flat6Motorsports  4 года назад

      Not with normal driving, at higher RPMs you hear more induction noise, a lot more pronounced with the windows down

      We have not had an opportunity to dyno the car. Likely pretty minimal.

      Anytime you improve air flow you will increase performance. Also good to improve exhaust>

      Then why bother with filter that will pass more dirt into engine? Lol

    I think I'll just trust Porsche engineering to design the appropriate air filter, thanks. I didn't spend 100k to add on aftermarket parts, especially ones that void the warranty!

      This video is not for you so no need for you to watch then comment on it too. Keep your car in the garage with a cover on it. don't bother driving it either cause you spent $100k on it.

      GT3 from Porsche factory comes with BMC high flow filters.

    Great way to shorten life of engine without any benefit lol

    • @williammorris3334
      @williammorris3334 3 года назад +2

      Exactly, always let the oil get to 194 deg f before you go over 4,000 rpm, greatly reduces bearing wear. It’s believed by many engineers that most engine wear occurs at start up

      @Angry-Lynx 3 года назад +1

      @@williammorris3334 i was referring to hi flow air filters, but yeah that too lol ;

      @@Angry-Lynx why does this effect the engine?…genuine question

    • @Angry-Lynx
      @Angry-Lynx 2 года назад

      @@johnauld0 because, those 'hi flow' filters allow more dirt into engine, theres not free power, everything has its cost. So doing that on such expensive car is especially stupid unless you really dont care how long will your engine last. It wont explode or anything, just shorten life of pistons rings, cylinders and shit
