Uhmm, and even as a person who doesn’t really know how to cook nor bake, I at least know that a cake is technically made up of sugar! Also, if it wasn’t for Leslie’s personality, they would’ve kicked him off earlier not because he’s a bad cook though, I bet they kept him on long enough because he was hated by the other contestants and kept the viewers coming!
I think it was script, this is because: 1. If Leslie really made that mistake, why only the third cake was mistake and he didn't make that mistake on first and second cake? 2. Courtney made the same mistake in EP4 and she wasn't eliminated, why Leslie was eliminated? (These two points were from people with bakery experience.) 3. If Leslie did made the mistake, his cake won't rise as high as Courtney's. Actually when Courtney made the same mistake in EP4, her doughnut really looked smaller compared to others. 4. Cake definitely needs a large amount of sugar, so if Leslie made that mistake, Gordon should immediately split it out, just like he did in EP4 when he ate Courtney's salty doughnuts.
@@grandefrppc he went back next season with 2 of the ppl he supposedly had a "feud" with. Wldnt be surprised if most of the relationship between the participants on screen were made up
Yep, and not only that but if it really was swapped then the cake would be so flat it would looks like a pancake, sugar is the thing that made it rise like that
Wasn't this a well-known fact? It was obvious this thing was rigged as heck. If he swapped sugar with salt, wouldn't judges just taste, spit it out, and say it right away, instead of "Oh, by the way. Your cake is salty!"? Like what they did with Courtney's salty donuts? If you eat a salty dessert, the first and only thing you taste is salt. Gordon wasn't looking confused because of the taste, his face was more like he didn't expect this cake to be that good. He was expecting Leslie to fail in a challenge that was specifically designed for Courtney to shine, because it was beyond obvious Courtney was a winner from the very start. Not to mention, there's scientifically no way his sponge cake would look like that if he swapped sugar with salt. It would never rise like it did. That sponge cake would be more like a brick.
What doesn't make sense to me is that Leslie's first two desserts were just fine. Anyway, Leslie has said he just moved on with life and he has done quite well. He sells his own oyster brand. Whether this is rigged or not many contestants do what the rest of us do and move on. I feel like many contestants have done better without the trophy than with it!
If you ever make sugar/salt mistake you see the difference since if you make that mistake it makes your cake hard as rock and you simply couldn't eat it.
Leslie's cake was completely fine. You always have to put a lot of sugar in a cake, so if he had confused sugar with salt, that meant he put a lot of salt in his cake. A professional chef claimed that he and other chefs actually made the meals in the back for Masterchef Jr. The production company sued him. The fact that the lawsuit was for violating a non disclosure agreement and not for slander is all the proof you need it is scripted.
Yeah I'd have to see proof of that. I searched it and absolutely nothing came up. I'm not saying there isn't some scripted but people who win this show become successful restaurant owners and chefs.
The thing is, a lot of entertainers (not just strippers, entertainers in general) come to this type of show for exposure. It doesn't matter if they win it or not. It's just great, I guess, to have that in their portfolio. Coz, I mean, imagine auditioning for a role in a movie and you have that "Top 10 in Masterchef" in your resume. It's definitely a big addition coz on top of being an experienced entertainer, you were in masterchef and you survived top 10, which means you're already quite popular. It helps them get more project. And I feel like that was probably Courtney's plan too. I don't think she intended to win. These people usually don't come there to win. Again, it's just for exposure. Even she was surprise everytime she gets safe from elimination. Like what Leslie said, she didn't even expect she would beat him at all. There are a lot of conspiracies surrounding this season but I don't think they were true. I think the answer to all our confusion is very simple... And that is, they threw all their contestants under the bus just like any of their other seasons. After all, bad publicity is still publicity. Just like any other season, they wanted a villain. But it was getting boring. In the last 4 episodes, they were all kinda similar. They bully other contestants to put themselves on the pedestal but like what we all expect, they get the karma they rightfully deserve in the end, and like any villain in movies and tv shows, they never win. But that is just boring and people want something different. So, they changed it. First, they look for a villain. Someone controversial, someone people will have mixed emotions about. Honestly, I feel like Leslie was the first target. "A rich stay at home dad who lives in malibu that everybody hates." Makes a good headline. That is why it was so confusing that they painted him as an evil person all the time when we never really see him do anything bad. Like, this man was just minding his own business and surprisingly, no matter how much they manipulated the whole thing, people still loved him. First they lead Ahran to hate him. Then Daniel, then Cutter, then Courtney, then Elizabeth and so on and so forth. It's kinda obvious. When it didn't work, I guess they had to look for someone else. Cutter's too boring. The others are too fucking nice and too ordinary... Except Courtney. She was a stripper who loves being bougie which could really rub the wrong people the wrong way. Courtney could be flipping her hair coz the room was too hot and they'd suddenly show that on camera while someone in the pressure test was having a hard time to show people she's a fake-ass b. They always show a zoom in clip of her expensive ass shoes for no fucking reason at all. They dressed her something she was not just to emphasize she was fake. And I think the biggest bait they ever threw in there was that they called her "The favorite", then they showed clips and moments of her that suggested she didn't deserve her spot. They didn't let her win the last elimination round because it would have been obvious. They could have let Leslie in the finale but Stripper Vs. A Stay At Home Dad wasn't as exciting as A Stripper Vs. An Advertising Executive. They're both women too 🙊👀. Who do you think people will root for more? 🤔 It was the perfect set up. They painted her the villain and it worked. I'm sure she liked all that. She was getting the exposure and in the end, she won the whole thing too. Let's be honest, how many people do you think came to see her on her shows after that? It was a good thing for her. But like any other contestants, she didn't even realize how much they did her dirty. "You won! Now, here's your money and shut the fuck up! 🥰🎉🎉" This fucking season tried so hard not to be predictable and I know a lot of people noticed that. I've rewatched this season in a streamer's watch party and even she and the chat noticed that. Everyone complained the show was redundant and boring so now the perfect villain wins and you didn't expect that and it triggered you and that gave them so much hype and so much publicity that even people who haven't heard of Masterchef USA before started watching the next season out of curiousity. Our country's broadcasting networks never really cared about who won Masterchef USA before. Not even freaking Christine from season 3. This was the first time they reported who won in Masterchef USA. This fucking season. I remember it because it was so controversial. Honestly, they're freaking assh*les but I applaud it. I don't think anyone would have pulled that off as amazingly as the Masterchef producers. And here are the contestants talking more about it, giving them more exposure than they ever fucking need. Congratulations, Masterchef 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@maiyavictoria1841 I just watched it now, Gordon definitely lied. I don't buy it for a minute. Leslie had a "well that's not right...." Look on his face.
I have watched reality TV shows much enough to understand the concept of winner's edit, and Leslie is never once had one of that edit in his confessional moment.
The thing about a winner's edit isn't so much that the winner gets a certain type of edit, but more that they will be featured at points where there is no particular necessisity for the editors to feature them. They will have moments where they voice their particular insights on the game in a way that is not cartoonish or not simply about characterizing another player. They will not disappear fully for an episode, or mostly for a series of episodes. They tend not to be characterized too positively or negatively. If they are positive, there is usually some darkness or doubt introduced to temper this and keep suspense alive rearding the results. If they are negative, they will have moments explaining their viewpoint to humanize them. Often other characters are edited ridiculously or in a more exaggerated fashion to act as foils to winners. But really, there's the events that happen out there. The editors have to piece together a story that gives some consistent and tempered explanation for who the winner is while still accounting for all the things that must be shown and retaining some element of suspense. When there's stillness around a character, look for moments of inisght. When there's drama around a character, look for moments of justification. Manufactured perspective, manufactured temperance, manufactured suspense.
Fr tho, considering how much sugar u add in cakes, replacing that with salt gotta be hella noticeable, and Gordon took like 3 sec to react to that, and Leslie even said it tasted fine, u don't need to be a baker to taste salt of that amt
yeah like in a large cake, i'd assume 100g - 200g sugar. For the people saying it was for suspenense, if it wasn't preplanned who would be eliminated before tasting, they wouldn't spit courtneys out. :/
@@GthicratLastusednameCuterat I know people that would probably suffer a heart attack if they ate a bite of that with the salt in it. Considering how refined of a palate Gordon is portrayed of having, it seems ridiculous to me that he would show a confused expression rather than one of running towards the nearest garbage bin and spitting it all out.
I just finished the 18th episode of Season 5 and eliminating Leslie was unfair and not right considering many episodes before, they saved Courtney for the same "salt" mistake. when she should have been eliminated for the salty donuts. The judges wanted to hold onto her regardless. Leslie most definitely was one of the cooks, I was pulling for. I am getting ready to start the finale episode and I truly hope Elizabeth wins this for sure now.
By the way the winner courtney released 2 books and now works in sales for tesla, basically a car salesman, to be honest leslie was not there for money, his wife is loaded (production companies)
Bruh, Master Chef did Leslie dirty. Cortney made a similar mistake with her donuts a few episodes prior and she was safe? Smh... I still like to believe that Leslie was the true winner He was robbed
Why didn't Leslie protest after Gordon said his cake was salty? He could've said the cake was perfect and ask for another opinion! Instead, he kept a straight face as if he knew he must accept his fate. That's called a script, everything for the viewers. Where do you think the prize money came from in the first place?
Jesus, some people in the chat and in the comments think Quin is interrupting. He wasn't, when you talk to a person for the first time, especially when it's an interview, you want the conversation to be constantly flowing. Every interviewer tries to proceed to the next discussion and reads when a person is going to end a topic and/or sentence. Sometimes the interviewer just reads it wrong and the lag and delay doesn't help with that. Give Quin some slack, 99% of the interview was good and flowing discourse, what's wrong with having >1% of it having some minor awkwardness and minor mistakes by Quin as an interviewer.
@@A-sui Yeah, I was kinda surprised and bit weirded out that Leslie would do something like that. Literally the man has my support just because of the sheer will and confidence, it some reason affects you too.
If anyone has watched till the credits, there is a little text mentioning that results have been changed or readjusted with the ''help'' of the producers and other scenes in the show have been edited or remade for entertainment purposes Just saying...
he sure may have a short temper but its excusable seeing how all the other contestants are really going at him. but he delivers more than anyone and really only mess up at the end? thats like far far odd to be true for someone who always deliver specially under pressure
When Leslie lost Masterchefs it made it clear that Hell's Kitchen is being rigged too. Especially when Michelle Tribble won the competition so they have to be more truthful the next season eventhough they're too bias with Mia hahaha
I have to say that it was rigged for Leslie to fail because of the salt incident. Leslie knew full well that he didn't put salt in the dessert, but of course his desserts were amazing more than Elizabeth and Courtney. People would know that Leslie would win Masterchef if it hadn't been for that salt issue. I think the judges were too lenient on Courtney. I think it was rigged.

@@GeorgiaAndreaYeah true, and being wealthy also helped him with that, I'm sure.
Bro should’ve won tbh cause he literally survived what 5-6 pressure test- that’s a whole world record?!
The man ages like fine wine
Couldn't agree more
Recently watched this season and Leslie deserved to win tbh
This fucking season tried so hard not to be predictable and I know a lot of people noticed that. Congratulations, Masterchef 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
absolutely fucking well said. just what i had in mind. this commeng should get recognised more.
i don’t know about everything that you said.. but if it’s for publicity stunt.. then maybe it was..
Brilliant breakdown. I'm not sure how much I agree with all that, but it seems like you thought about it a lot, and I like that. Wonderful.
Use your real id Courtney

Didn't Courtney use salt instead of sugar in one of the first challenges (a donut challenge I think) and did not get sent home? yeahhh 👀

@@ZeroX7649 right?! season 5 was very weird..
Leslie confirmed GIGACHAD
I have watched reality TV shows much enough to understand the concept of winner's edit, and Leslie is never once had one of that edit in his confessional moment.
can u explain more abt the concept
Ya leslie's main spotlight was the malibu sunshine donuts ahahaha he was never interviewed bout random stuff unlike the stripper hahaha
@@olandoblen5791Off topic but I just love the way you worded your answer. So well spoken. It's refreshing seeing comments like this.
Leslie and francis both people that are my favorites in those season. Good to see u men healthy. Love ur time in that masterchef season.
I think Leslie is my favourite reality contestant of all time.
And Gordon didn't spit out the cake 🫤
I remember watching the season of MasterChef with Leslie in it I think that was my first time watching and I was rooting for him to win
Interrupting ☑️
Changing Topic randomly ☑️
I don't know the streamer, but it was still interesting tho
This guy is worthy of a crown
leslie literally used the same container of sugar with other recipes, yet the last one is the only one that Gordon thought had salt? that is just bs.
Thank you! Like how did he bake 2 other cakes with no issue then all of a sudden have an issue with that last one
This interview was really funny tbh. U can feel like quin is as excited as a 5 year old to meet his "hero" LUL
after watching the whole season i got to say the idea of that salt thing being rigged seemed obvious from first second i heard that.
I felt the SAME WAY THE SECOND I SAW IT
Leslie is a true Chad irl holy shit
29:23 the one youre looking for, youre welcome
You’re a god
Leslie is definitely among the ones you remember long after the show. Also Christine, Luca and Tommy
Everybody remembers Leslie😙! Such a vibrant character!
im smiling and cringing at quin but smiling at the same time watching this live. yep.
Nope. Elizabeth didn't win
I stop watching season 5 since Leslie gone. Something tells me that man deserve the title than Courtney.
By the way the winner courtney released 2 books and now works in sales for tesla, basically a car salesman, to be honest leslie was not there for money, his wife is loaded (production companies)
What I respect most about Leslie is he is definitely there to learn.
She went back to stripping
Dude looks like an older Dante and even had his cocky and rowdy attitude, this man's a legend.
Bro is a content gold mine at this point.
Did you really hit him with the "THAT'S A LOT OF NUTS!" loooooooooool
Holy shit this actually happened
He seems so chill lol
Bruh, Master Chef did Leslie dirty. Cortney made a similar mistake with her donuts a few episodes prior and she was safe? Smh...
I still like to believe that Leslie was the true winner
He was robbed
I actually thought from the start of that season that he was a great contender to win masterchef...guess fate isn't that kind
Why didn't Leslie protest after Gordon said his cake was salty? He could've said the cake was perfect and ask for another opinion! Instead, he kept a straight face as if he knew he must accept his fate. That's called a script, everything for the viewers. Where do you think the prize money came from in the first place?
Cutter being in too four was a mess for me. Like be serious. There were better cooks
Like I was genuinely confused on how Cutter was making it so far
-Took a 'journalism' class once
My favorite tv character
Omg I love leslie. I knew he didn’t put the damn salt in the cake
I was a bit surprised that eating a salt filled cake’s reaction was so less from the judges and leslie himself so I was definitely skeptical

Its been 1 year since this was posted and i still love leslie
I wish the streamer prepared better for the interview
That was the best interview of all time
Man should've won season 5
What a true champ leslie woulda won if it weren't for that salt shit
Theres no way he makes that mistake at that point in the competition
Rigged
When Leslie lost Masterchefs it made it clear that Hell's Kitchen is being rigged too. Especially when Michelle Tribble won the competition so they have to be more truthful the next season eventhough they're too bias with Mia hahaha
You need to stop interrupting and let Leslie talk. You can't even formulate questions properly at least just don't interrupt.
Someone please explain to me how this guy's chat is so horrible
Twitch chat
That’s most of twitch to be honest. Just horrid.

We want to hear leslie talk and its such a pain you keep interupting him for every single damn time.
No one is gonna talk about the fact that the producers kept Cutter in because dude was basically a content producing machine
GIGACHAD
Leslie had that DAWG in him. Literally couldn’t be beaten until he made a mistake. The only person that could beat Leslie was Leslie.
if that mistake didn't happen he would have won he is my fav in entire MasterChef

We came to hear Leslie talk about the salt incident.. Nothing else.
Leslie has to return to masterchef one day look at Christian he came back
Absolutely robbed. They were just shocked with the fact that Leslie kept surviving the pressure tests and decided to kick him out one way or another.
Replaced Sugar with Salt? 😂 Absolute bull.
Just because he knows how to play a psychological game, people assume he's a jerk. Nah, everyone was on his ass since the first episode.
Leslie should have won in my opinion! He could cook!
